  1. Excellent, thanks for all the info. Never thought of pharmacy near a hospital, didn't cross my mind!!!!!

Regards aspirin, I have noted that appears to be 81mg, suppose that wont make much of a difference, but I will check.

I think my main concern is, fake medication.

I will check these places out

    Thanks

  2. Hi thanks for that.

Yes I do mean 75mg on the Aspirin, will visit a couple of those today, possible they are cheaper than Boots. Not that they overly expensive compared to buying on UK prescription, as you can only get 28 days in one shoot. Used. Prepayment card, and also Doctor was happy to give 3 month supply when I left the UK

    Anyway thanks for the Information

  3. I have to take three types of medication each day, due to Mitral heart valve repair, open heart surgery, I had in the UK last August. I am currently living in Bangkok, Huay Khwang.

I have enough to last me until the end of May, no problem.

I know I can get these at Boots, in most malls, but was wondering if there are any other pharmacies which any one knows of, as will heading towards the North East to set up home in the next 6 months or so. Loeng Nok Tha, Yasothon.

    The items are

    1. Bisoprolo hemifumarate 2.5mg. I am on this one for life....

    2. Ramipril 2.5mg. This item I will possibly stop taking soon, as I have never had high blood pressure, they just want to relieve pressure on the valve prior to op and the Edwards ring being put in place. I am just awaiting conformation to stop taking this one.

    3. Aspirin 7.5mg, for life like most heart op and heart suffers

Never knew I had a problem until I got off a flight from a BKK last May, thought I had a chest infection!!! Still at least mine has been cause by my body not producing collagen, which the valves are made from, and not through anything else. Next life I am going to drink hard and smoke!!!!! No seriously I wouldn't.

    Thanks for any help

    David

  4. Yes I did my wife came to the UK, last June to help me recover from open heart surgery. Direct flight with Thai Airways in too London. She did get confused on the arrival form, for immigration, and the officer on immigration was not helpful. Unfortunately, for my wife it was the start of the Olympics, and there were many temporary officers working at terminal 3. But a very nice Indian, I believe, coming off another flight help my wife fill out the missing information.

My wife is 39, and has flown twice only in here life, to Dubai and back. It was a rush job, due to what was going on with my health.

  5. Member above wrote: The legal limit for a money transfer into your account is under 800k baht.

Thanks. That is what I need to know. I am only talking about B300k by the time all is done.

My bank is SCB - seems they should be able to handle that, no?

I am with SCB, and I transferred in to my account B1 million, no problems, from a UK account, both are personal accounts in my name only. No one has ever told me there is a limit........or said anything when the above transfers

However at B300k, approx £6.6k, should be no problem in taking that amount out in cash or SWIFT/iIBAN payment

As for exchange I use Linda Exchange in BKK, as good as Superrich, IMHO, the most I have changed there in one go is £2.5k, they didn't seem to be alarmed, anyway they take a copy of your photo page of passport, if there was to any sort of money laundering problem, or concern.

Anyway all by the by at the moment, good luck in selling the motor, and hope you get the price your after.

  6. At 52, something I have given some thought to, I do have a home to return to in the UK, so I would think back to the UK. The age difference between, my wife and I is 12 years, she very caring, and stuck by me last year, in the UK when I had open heart surgery, Mitral valve repair. But you never know, what's around the corner, and life has it is up and downs.....ect ect

  7. UK it's 10,000 euros ( yes that's correct UK customs talk in euros, not GBP or Sterling) anything over that you must declare. It brought over more than that in GBP, declared at Birmingham Airport, my departure port, to UK customs. Gave them the correct form, C9011, and they were perplex as what to do.

So showed them the money, proved where it came from, eg investments, pension, sale of goods, or what got them to sign one copy, and said well I'be done my bit.

They thanked me, still looking at each other..........amazing UK.

  9. Thank you, that's very helpful......yes it would be the KR2, as married in Thailand.

Photo won't be a problem, that's straight forward.

Rental contract we have both names on it.

It will be the 400k, as my pension dosenot come in to force untill 2015, by then it should be worthless anyway. A big thanks to two great UK banks......

And I will go for early just to be on the safe side, I still have have a return flight booked, so can use it or cancel if needed.

    Thank you very much

  10. Not urgent this as have. 2 months left on Non immigrant Type O (28 May 13)

    I am a Brit, aged over 50

At what stage do I, can I apply for the extension based on marriage?

400k has been in sole bank account since 16 Feb 13. Also I don't want to tie up 800k.

Myself and wife are currently renting a condo in Huay Khwang, Bangkok, area. Both names are on the rental documents, and have had the address certified (well paid the British Embassy, for a letter), as succesfully meet the requirements (oh that was a laugh, and a eye opener) for a 1 year Thai driving licence.

But my wifes home is in Loeng Nok Tha (Yasathon), dose this cause any problems as she is registered there? I know that not many people living in Bangkok were born here, and there family home is outside the city.

We need photos of ourselfs in all the rooms???? Even more stupid question now, Just standing there???? Outside a condo front door with number, and outside the main enterance with all the inflatable, waving men ( quite a new building) half empty.

What is the Khor 22, when we married in a Amphur in Bangkok , last April, had 2 documents, the very colourful marriage certificate, and the other which has the witness signature's on, is it it that one, or is it a conformation form of some other type, which we need to go get again nearer the time?

As I said silly little questions, but just trying to build up, the complete picture of what I am doing, I have read numerous documents, and a like, and it can be a little confusing, well for me.

Thanks for reading, and any comments

    Dave

  11. Thanks to all for advice. I now have my Non Immigrant type O visa, from the Royal Thai Consulate in Birmingham. They wanted an English translation of myThai marriage certificate, which I didn't have, as well as photo copy wife's ID or passport. So to get around this, the very helpful woman there said bring proff of income minimum £900.00 per month, as still be paid by my old company I did. Took 15 mins to get it visa in passport. So simple.

Fly out on the 27th, going via Dubia with Emirates, for a change, getting a little miffed on Thai airways prices, and not keen on EVA......anyway that's by the by.

I am not going to use Siam legal, I have done all research, so that's fine.

My Thai friend who runs a car company is helping me obtaining my Thai driving licence.

Thanks guys and girls........very very useful forum

  12. Hi to everyone.

    Has anyone used Siam Legal???

I am thinking of using them for a retirement/spouse visa.

    I am 52, UK citizen

Married to Thai, have been since April 2012.

Already have Thai bank account in my name.

I can meet the requirements for money in account (400,000) to show each year.

Have been visiting Thailand for several years, and have a few Thai friends outside my wife's group of friends.

We will be building a home in Leong Nok Tha, where her family farms and we have been given a large plot of land from her farther.

However, I don't want to spend £500.00 if I can do the visa by myself, any advice??? Hate paying over the odds for stuff, when it can be done by me. However if it is a minefield, then, it isn't an issue.

    Thanks
