  1. hi guys which galaxy s4 do you have? I mean like the cpu, ram and how do you use it? what apps etc. I am thinking about getting one not sure about the spec that I want.

what can be upgraded in the phone? cpu, ram, others?

Do you guys have trouble carrying it? it's bigger than older phones do you guys have trouble sitting down when it's in the pocket? or walking around, jogging a little bit.

I will use it for GPS in the car, watch twitch stream sometimes. go online of course, possible to watch movie with it huh? but screen probably too small maybe just some small videos and youtube. any suggestions would be appreciate thanks guys.

  2. Every year, for the past 40+ years (since I was old enough to comprehend such talk), I've had older guys look me intensely in the eyes (usually grabbing both my hands for added dramatic effect) and telling me: "The US dollar is going to be worthless, mark my words!" to which, I might respond in a plain voice; "Oh yea? When?" And twice as intensely they would say "any day now! Beware."

sorry I don't understand this, is it because USD went off gold standard that's why everyone was telling you USD will be worthless for the last 40 years? but it never went that way because US is super power and USD is the main currency?

so Thailands GDP relies on 70% exports and 8% tourism the depreciation is good for the country then, how bad of depreciation do you guys think the Baht will be after they totally stop the QE? might be a good time to buy a condo and wire your money over!

  3. so for those premier account like UOB CIMB Citigold etc, how much balance do they usually require?

I sold a house in Asia and the house was not registered under my USA ID (I have dual citizenship) Now if I wire the money back to the US they will know about it, but right now they don't. So kind of thinking about opening up an account in TH and just leave it there. So any recommendations? however I am afraid of the banking service in Thailand like card skimming, poor services since you are a falang, also afraid to leave that big chunk of money for 4,5 months when I am not even in TH. need to pick a good bank I guess. Any recommendation would be really appreciated

  4. for HSBC premier account I heard someone said, if you have a premier account in one country, then you can also open up another premier in another country but you don't need to meet the min 50k pounds or whatever the min balance they require you in that country. Is this true? (he said just have the manager write a letter saying that you have premier account with them, then you can open up another account in other country)

Also I am going to use some friend's address or maybe hotel's address for HSBC account, they dont' mail you anything right? if I use everything for email like estatement and e everything. What mail will they still mail to your address? I don't want my friend or hotel people open up my hsbc mail and got my important info. (by the way I am US citizen so I don't want to use my US address, I heard if you use US email the IRS will also find you!)

  5. I have a sizable amount in my bank account which never came with a ATM card.

I know TIT, but what are the chances that an unauthorized withdrawal could be made against such an account without using my passport.

    which bank do you have?

I have Kasikorn and they don't need passport in the branch that you opened the account, in other branches you need the passport.

Without passbook you can't take out money anywhere right? must have passbook with you for withdrawal.

  6. doesn't it have something to do with FOMC meeting earlier? about tapering on QE? no one mentioned about FOMC except the TH gov.

anyways am I right about this, they gonna end QE slowly so in the next month to a year or however long they totally end the QE, THB gonna really depreciate, so wire some USD over to TH bank and leave it there, exchange to THB when you need to. Like someone said earlier baht vs pound went down so their pension went up by 14.x%.

  7. hmmmm I was thinking about leave a large amount the next time I am over, maybe up to 1M baht or more. So what do you guys say don't do it? I will leave it there and come back 5,6 months later. When you are a foreigner and you ain't even in the country, money gone missing it's gonna be a big headache I bet. Is there any happy ending to similar incidents before?

Is it possible to like freeze the account when you leave TH, and un-freeze it when you come back? that way it will be totally safe.

So from this thread and few others threads I guess you won't get the money back? kasikorn doesn't do anything and the same for police? Do they also treat thai the same way or it's only for foreigners? Is it possible that the bank people took out the money?!?!!?

For the address we used hotel address when we opened the account, so hotel staff might get our personal info when bank mail us something. Without passbook they can't take out money at all right? I only have passbook and no ATM. also they don't guarantee 1 million baht for foreigners for money in the bank right? but actually I am talking about USD account and not THB account

  9. is it easy to open an account with Bangkok bank? as easy as Kasikorn? they will just take your hotel address as home address?. But I am worried about that what if they mail stuff to hotel and they get my mail and possibly will get to my banking info?

anyways in Thailand to take out money you must have passbook and signature right? if you don't have passbook there is no way you can take money out?

I am thinking that after US ends QE THB will depreciate a lot, so it's worth it to open an USD account. I need it anyways but what do you guys think? before the QE the THB was around 35, 36!!

So Kasikorn will let you open up an USD account...any other banks in Pattaya will let you do that?

    thanks guys

  10. Nope. Because of money laundering, you must open an account in person at one of the branches, with a valid passport and visa. Some bank have additional requirements such as: type of visa, length of visa, and work permit.

Yes, a foreign currency account uses a seperate passbook from Thai Baht account. Foriegn currency accounts are usually opened in the banks main office in Bangkok.

Yes when you transfer foreign money to a Thai Baht account the money it is automatically converted at the current TD rate for that bank.

USD accounts are opened in the banks main office in BKK? so I have to go to BKK? can't just open the USD account in the branches outside of BKK?

  11. question anyone know which bank that you can close the account by mail, fax, or phone? in case I don't go back to Thailand and I can just close it overseas and have them send me a check or wire my balance. For Kasikorn they don't let you do it, you have to close it in person. So when I want to close an account obviously I need to open one without too much hassle for us foreigners, so does anyone know a TH bank account that you can open without too much difficulty and close the account by mail, fax, phone etc? thanks

Can you open up an account for baht and another for USD account? So when you transfer USD over it will be in the USD account, so you won't lose money to fee or shitty exchange rate when bank automatically convert USD to THB. They will give you two different passbooks I think?

Also Any of the banks in Thailand that let you open an account by mail/phone/email?

When I wire money into TH, if there a limit like half million baht or something? or high fees if it's a lot or whatever

    thanks guys

Withdraw all your money and eventually the bank will close your account for you automatically.

    Yes.

No I want to close the account and have them wire or send me a check, I don't want to use ATM in my country to take out the money, there is a daily limit and fee will be too great.

for the USD account is it a seperate passbook? I only got the regular savings passbook that doesn't deal with USD right? if I wire money over it will be converted to THB automatically.

Any of the banks in Thailand that let you open an account by mail/phone/email? thanks

  13. What can foreigners invest in Thailand? and what do you invest in? What's Thailand's future economy like to invest some money in it?

Maybe planning a semi-retirement to Thailand, and gonna sell my stuff and move there, but what can foreigners invest there? you can't buy houses, only condos. Can you invest in the mutual funds there? Certified deposit there? what can you invest in there? what's the tax like?

So after you guys decide you gonna move to TH and sold all your things in your country, what do you invest in? what do you buy? please share thanks. things to know like risks, dangers, banks going bankruptcy, do they have the 1 million baht FDIC thing for foreigners there in Thailand? thanks guys

  16. Hi guys I am dreaming about things that happened a long time ago, like
20 years ago, 25 years ago, random things. I would woke up and be like
why did I dream about that? I don't even remember it. It's very weird
and I am feeling scared, maybe something big is going to happen.

    Major
things that's happening in my life is I am selling my family house and
moving to another country (where I have lived in for awhile) It's a
family house left by my granny, I was very close to my granny and she
left me a lot of things, whilst other family members didn't get much. So
due to that reason and few other reasons they don't talk to me, I am
totally alone. And now I am selling the last thing that I have left from
her I feel weird, maybe losing and selling something the last family
members that once loved me? but before when I wanted to sell the house I struggled,
eventually I decided to sell it, buyer put a deposit a long time ago and
1 month before the contract date I start to have a lot of dreams from a
long time ago, my daily activity I don't think they have any
association with those dreams. I think my brain is accessing those
dreams by itself out of nowhere? those are some weird dreams. I am thinking maybe I am
selling the house so it's the end of something, like I am done with this
country and will move to another country or something more.

    so
    what do you guys
think about these dreams? I am thinking maybe it's something serious and
maybe I should talk to someone professional, like a psychologist. It
was stressful to sell the house, due to the reasons I just mentioned and
sometimes I don't sleep well, once for two weeks I didn't sleep well.
    what
    do you guys think? thanks

  17. question I never taken Cialis I have only taken kamagra before.

my next trip coming up I am there only for a few days I am wondering
if I never tried cialis and if I tried it for the first time, will it
ruin me for 24 to 36 hours?I heard from one guy he said that it hurts
him and he won't take it again. does anyone have bad experience with it
also? or maybe I should try it out before the trip to see what's up?
    thanks guys

also the one I got is 20mg...too much? maybe just take half pill? I
don't really have erection problem unless I <deleted> many times in one day.

  18. grantsmith thanks yeah I will be taking a taxi and I got a few luggages, thanks for the heads up.

oldchinaham thanks for your input, so food is great there? nice I like good food. yeah I already booked my hotel from agoda, and speaking of deals is there a site I can go for discounts, deals, coupons for Macau? like casino shows, casino restaurants, etc etc

Do you think it will be ok for me to wear shorts in casinos? not for gambling but to walk around and check out the casino, maybe eat.

also seems like everyone say don't rent a scooter, just walk or take bus. my hotel is in the mid of the Macau island so I will walk everywhere there, but for taipa and coloane I will get a taxi, I don't like buses, lol I never really take any buses before to anywhere. so for Taipa and coloane what are the main attractions there? oh where is the beach

so I will be in Macau for 3.5 days, about what % of time I will be spend in Macau Island, Tapia and Coloane? most of the stuff are on Macau island I think

  19. ok guys I got my tix and got few more questions.

Macau is a pretty safe city right? any scams for tourists or anything I should watch out for? is the tab water there drinkable?

is it easy to cash out traveler's check in Macau? do they have those booth things everywhere

riding scooter in macau any different than pattaya? is it worse than pattaya? I plan to rent from http://www.macauscooters.com/ and they want credit card info via their site. safe to give them the info or just get the bike in person when I get there?

I can have access to HKD much easier...I think I will just get that....they all take HKD in Macau right?

    thanks guys
