  1. ubonjoe,

    we were told

    1. irrelevant of 15 day or 30 day permit of stay it is not possible to change straight to non o.

    2. you are writing: the money does not have to be in the bank for 2 months to apply for the non immigrant visa. Having the money in the bank on the date of application is the requirement.

    who says that???

we were clearly tild money needs to be on account for 2 months...

3.i didn't get any reentry at this point...my situation a bit complex as i am buying land in myanmar at present which requires me to go a few times back and forward....

  2. ok guys, thanks again for all your posts...here is my update to let you know how things went at immigration.

i went to my local nonthaburi office.

The only option i had was to extend my 14 day entry permit for another 60 days. Cost 1900 baht...needed wife present, marriage stuff, blue book wife, passport picture,

    2. there is no way to change straight back to non O.

    3. i could have gotten a multible entry for 3800 baht for this 2 month extention (i didn't because i will leave the country next month, and other time issues.)

    4. if i have 400k on account for 2 month i could transfer the extention to a 3 month non o in 1 month, then change the 3 month to a 1 year. (always possible 30 days before the visa expires...

BTW... thai embassy in Myanmar confirmed via email that they are issuing 3 month NON o multible entry visas (based on marriage)

hope this helps and REMEMBER TO GET YOUR REENTRY PERMIT!!!!

  3. thanks so much ubonjoe... i can arrange the fund to be on the account again but it would not show in my bankbook as 2 months.... my wife puts the 400 k every year 2 month prior onto my bank account and then she invests it for the rest of the year....

so monday morning we could get the money onto the account...and then show them at nonthaburi office my bankbook... normally they need letter from the bank??

    what you think?

  4. i am so upset with myself! PLEASE HELP!!!

i know this has been discussed but regulations change all the time...

I forgot to get my reentry visa for my 1 yr non 0 extention of stay (based on marriage) ! i have done it for years but when i received my extention of stay in september 2015 i forgot to apply for the multiple entry visa!!!

i returned yesterday from a little roadtrip to Cambodia and my existing visa was nullified... now i am back on a 14 day tourist visa. <deleted>!!!

i usually deal with immigration at Nonthaburi (where I live)

    1. Any one knows of a way to reinstate my old 1 yr extention of stay visa or is all lost?

    2. i need to leave the country for Myanmar next month so IF i have to start the process again can i get the right visa (3month NON 0 based on marriage i guess?) in Yangoon? i heard some countries don't issue them any more.

    3. if yangoon does not issue Non o marriange visas then which countries in the area still do?

4.once i extend the 3 month to 1 year will this be treated as a first time application? Difference would be i gueass that i need a statement from the neighbours again saying i live at my address with my wife and the 400.000 baht only need to be at bank account for 2 months not 3....?

    5. when i come into thailand with my new NON O 3 month visa it can only be SIngle entry? Correct... i cant't leave the country and after 60 days i can apply for the 1 year (which will be under consideration from day 61-90,Correct?

    thanks so much

  5. my 3 boys are visiting me here in thailand. they are going to stay 34 days and i wan to take them to cambodia for a visit.

as this is the plan i told my ex she needn't worry about a visa for them.

i just want to make sure...th

as aussies they will get 30 days on arrival and when we go to cambodia and return to thailand via land they will get 2 weeks free of charge...is this currently the case?

if someone can confirm this would be great!

    many thanks

  6. i am 50 year old male australian, married to thai citizen.

together with a friend we are intending to set up a thai company which would then buy a small resort.

some people are only investors but i would be the one implementing and managing the renovation of the resort.

whats the legal situation in regards to working myself on the place.

    many many thanks in advance!

  7. we are looking to start up a small german food outlet/bakery/snack bar in kao san rd (preferred) or soi rambutri or one of the really busy tourist roads. we are looking for a small space may be 25-35 m2... road frontage. wondering what prices we have to expect or if anyone knows how we can approach this issue. in the western world we have real estate agents....but that doesn't seem to exist in thailand...

any information greatly appreciated... we also look for german baker!

  8. my german friend is right now on a 30 day visa on arrival (permit to stay) which he got on arrival in thailand.

he intends to extend this visa for a further 30 days.

    he has 2 questions

1.is it correct that he can extend his permit to stay at any immigration office for a further 30 days

    2. is there a time frame for this extention, with other when when is the earliest that he can apply?

  9. i am wondering if i can loos my australian medicare benefits if i am outside the country for too long.

its been almost 2years and i am not intending to return for quite some time. i live here in thailand.

i have a currrent card which expires 06/2017...

does that mean its valid till then....

i am asking in case i have an emergency or something like that...i haven't got travel or any other insurance and i am insured for the basic through my Thai wive's company....

    thanks for any insights

  10. my Thai wife of 1.5 years (been in relationship for 2.5 years) and myself (australian citizen 49) want to get the application going to get her the permanent residency. We are currently full time liveing in bangkok, but at some stage later in our lifes want to live half the year in australia.

we figure visa costs and the process is not getting easier and her having a good job and good income would help too.

one question i can't seem to find answers.

We understand we are applying for a partner visa, tht upon success will result in a TR visa (temporary residence)

From what i can gather this process takes roughly `1 year.

so after she receives her TM do we then have to live in Australia permanently for her to gain permanent residency status.... or can we keep living in thailand and wait ti out here?

    very grateful for any answers

  11. While I'm an avid biker and potential customer, I would like to make some suggestions:

    a) Reduce fixed costs and overhead - form an alliance with a motorcycle rental business or

    cool.png move to Chiang Mai.

    c) There are some such operators and I'm not sure how they are all doing. The low rent is a killer. Personally, I wouldn't touch the motorcycle rental business! What does your marketing research reveal?

we own a house and space in bangkok which could be potentially good for us...please refer to my latest post.... to me its not just about creating an income through mortorbike tours...

    its more a lifestyle issue...

i have a number of friends who come every year...

so my q's is why not do something together...

  12. hi guys and girls...

i am a wild man. lived in south america (amazon) for 3 years, australia for 25, german born and raised (17years). economic refugee since 1985, photographer, organic farmer, community developer, visionary, writer, teacher, hunter, writer

google me and you will see i am an open card....

looking for a challenge...looking for all of you who are bored of whats on offer right now!

i have lived here in thailand now for 2 years, married to an amazing professional woman, travelled 12000km (on bike) to look for the right land... to do do what?

well thats a long story.... i have seen this country 30 years ago....and lots of aspects i still love here...

lots of aspects i see rejuvenated in myanmar, laos... but lets not be too sentimental.

thailand is thailand and has gone through huge steps to become the united states of asia.

ok..so one of my plans is to establish a space to live amongst friends... a place near the coast, a place with a river, a place where we can grow at least 100 kind of fruits, at least 150 kinds of vegetable and at least 100 kind of bamboos. AND MOST OF ALL LIVE WITH A LOCAL VILLAGE IN HARMONY.

a place similar to what i have established in australia over 20 years (jasper-hall.com).. you can watch a 30 min documentary right now on ...http://vimeo.com/20418773...

i have lived last year in nepal for a number of months and i am still contemplating =organising tours from Kathmandu to bangkok..but its all open...

i have a number of friends since 30 years who want to become involved in something meaning full and purposeful.

i am wondering if any musketeers are out there right now to seek something like this?

I HAVE GREAT CONTACTS NEAR DAWEI to establish landscapes built on mutual trust and experience...

i want to move forward NOW with whoever dares to move forward NOW

love and peace to you all

  13. My wife and i want to start a motorbike tour business, organising and conducting adventure bike tours in South east asia and india.

    She is Thai citizen

I am australian, 1 yr Non o marriage visa. I don't have a work permit as yet.

we want to register the business here in thailand.

    what is there to consider?

How can i be involved as a foreigner. Am i legally allowed to be involved in this business, e.g. as a tour guide?

we have little budget, just want to buy a few bikes and take people to myanmar, laos etc.

any advise would be terrific. How should we go about. Should we set it up as a company or just register it as a small business?

    we live in Bangkok.
