This thread will likely end up closed due to posters inability to discuss something without resorting to some ridiculous nastiness.. but heres giving it a try anyway...
I of course realise the term "Farang" is in regard to Caucasian/westerners..but seeing as the term "farang food" gets chucked about in this forum, i would like to ask what nationalities men here are actually referring to...?
Personally i cannot see how food from European, Latin, American, British, etc backgrounds..can or should all be grouped together as representative of each other.(I am guessing Latin would not come under "western", but just a moot point, no?)I of course find it insulting that "farang food" should be somehow a derogatory term. But more than that, i also find it strange, for just because i am Caucasian i am thus meant to eat the same food of the same type as every other?
So what exactly in your minds is "farang food" and what does that represent and why (for some) does it equal such negative associations. (PLEASE can we try to discuss this in a way that doesnt resort to base Neanderthal style remarks! )...

Most Russian ( & Chinese) tourists are on package deals, money paid upfront before they leave home for all accomm, food, tours etc. Small businesses don't benefit, only a select few resorts, tour businesses. Money isn't as evenly spread around as with independent European visitors.

Got my Nexus 4 a couple of weeks ago. Ordered through Ebay, sent direct to Thai address. Total cost just under 12,600 Baht. Phone was US$400. Postage was US$23.95 for USPS Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelope . Took 12 days to get here from US. No customs duty or VAT to pay. :-)
Excellent phone.

If you have a Garmin GPS they always say speed limit is 110 on most roads, when it is either 89 - 90. ( Garmin is incorrect )

Since when has a website, in this case, www.fcowidget.com been an 'App'? Few potential tourists are going to look at yet another govt website before travelling. But at least the UK govt covers itself. Can tell people who had accidents "Well we did warn you." - which is the main purpose of the site.
