  1. Looks pretty much the same to me. Maybe a few less tuk tuks but now they are just spreading the 5 they are allowed out a bit instead of touching bumpers like they used too. Still chaos on beach road

  2. I know this is a visa question but i am hoping just for some advice from people in this industry that have the same issue as me.

I have been working a 28/28 roster for the last 16 months and have spent my time off in thailand. I have always entered on a visa exempt stamp and this has never been a problem. I also went to phuket town immigration office about 10 months ago and told them this is what i planned to do and they said there is no problems as long as it is obvious i have been away for a while and not just overnight so i can get a new stamp.

I am wondering if there is a type of visa i could apply for so that i know i will be fine everytime i come back. I always think there is going to be a time when they say at immigration that i have too many visa exempt.

I also wish to buy a car in the next few months so i wonder how i can register and insure this when i am only getting visa exempt stamps. I have a 12month lease on my apartment that i can show if it helps. (And i dont plan on getting married!!)

    Thanks for any help.

  3. Patong is a good place IMO, i just know some expat women who feel uncomfortable around alot of expat men with thai girls as they cant hold a conversation with the girls. Im just saying that these places i refer to are very casual, not overly pretty places but comfortable for everyone.

  4. I am halfway through some treatment in Patong. I have had 12 fillings, root canal, whitening and will be back in a fortnight to have a crown fitted. Next month after i will have an implant. The implant is 50,000 baht.

The price is probably a little high as it is in patong but it is near to my house so thats why i choose them.

Check it out, you have many possibilities where to get a Tourist Visa. One entry, is everywhere possible, two entries, check the list.

    Driving license?

Do you not have one from your home country? Should be ok, also an International can be asked for, but seldom!

I have a car licence but not a bike licence, so i think i will have to sit a bike test??

  6. Hi i am new to this forum and have seen alot of people get great advice so i am hoping for the same. I have been coming in and out for thailand for the last 2 years on a visa exempt stamp. I work offshore so only ever stay 28 days maximum at a time. Now i am looking to take 3 to 6 months off work and want to get a visa to stay.

I have an Australia passport but dont want to go to australia to apply for a visa. Where should i go to get this done and what visa should i be looking at getting. I have been renting the same place on a long term rental for the past 12 months and have a lease agreement already for the next 12 months.

I am also looking to get my motorbike licence as i have been running the risk a bit too long now, what do i have to do to get this?

I am not old enough to apply for any retirement visa either.

Thanks in advance for any help.
