Per Bangkok Immigration website they have introduced a new service http://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/base.php?page=re-entry.
Complete the TM8 online then make an appointment to pick up the permit.
I understand the service is only available in Bangkok.

Quite right upethos...about the Freemason's. My alternative was Truevisions sad to say. I just couldn't imagine Vietnam History channel etc etc ...that would be too much.
But if anything does develop I'll swop over if its right for me.

I have just found out that we are going to have to rewrite our entire web site as we have been and will continue to be attacked. So please forgive us if our site is erratic for the next couple of months as we fix all problems. Sigh.
Oh dear.......may be someone doesn't like you or your sites

My father’s literature, writing and grammar skills were impeccable. 4 years ago, 2 years prior to his death my father suffered a stroke. Then suddenly it was as if another person had possessed him. His complete character had changed and his writings became that of an 8 year old, we could hardly had guessed that it was from the same person.
What this does bring to light is that there are those suffering and in need of support.
Thailand is an easy place to live, but also an easy place to die and your person swept under the carpet and forgotten. Foreigners can so quickly find themselves sucked into a great void and isolation here, if down on they’re luck or hit by health or financial problems, especially in Chiang Mai where there is hardly any fellowships between ex-pats, even those of the same nationalities. It doesn’t take long before the feeling of hopelessness sets in. The problem is that there are no support structures here for ex-pats and many are left to deal with matters alone and in a lot of cases, friendless.
What about the Christian and Jewish institutions? Are they interested or offer any support? NO. Most of the so-called charity do gooders, religious organisations and Foreign offices are run by monkey’s in harness and will prove useless when it boils down to the nitty gritty of offering real assistance and support for those in desperate need, whether it be mental, physical and financial issues.
Those who are considering moving to Thailand, perhaps hoping to escape their mundane lives in the home countries, adventure or to set up a lifestyle for themselves, must first conduct some extensive research into what is involved and ensure that they have financial security without having to rely on employment, plus enough funds and incomes to carry them through the rough and the smooth, such as which make allowances when the bank interest and exchange rates are down, plus of course the state of their health, because medical is not cheap in Thailand.
Think wisely and don`t risk everything on the hope that situations will not change, because in Thailand, if you fall down, there is no one to pull you up again.
Sadly only too true. The points made here deserve a topic in themselves..................

Earplugs for the monks; that’s them sorted:
The noise; well there is literally more noise created from those racing tuks tuks than any rowdy pissed up girls and boys. They could restrict tuk tuks on this road if they wanted.
Doing business around Tapae…does that include the squid man, the sausage ball man..did the police clear them aswell?
Girls alleged to be minors; what about the “girls” purporting to be girls they are more a nuisance to bike riders.
It must be a slack news month, no tourists, nothing to report so lets sensationalise the same old, same old.
Forget it, nothing will ever come of this.
wonder when kerb crawling will come into Thai vocabulary

Hi,
we are a new agency in Chiang Mai, we collect all house, mooban etc in the next weeks. If you like, PM me your mail and I let you know as soon I find something. The service is free for buyers and renters! http://www.buyrentchiangmai.com
I would have thought so. You don't expect people who are buying a property to pay you?Free for buyers and rentersWebsite very sweet but why do I have to look at all your properties when I just want to see rentals maybe house maybe condo. Vice versa if I want to buy why do I have have to see rentals? Not too much of prob at the moment but if you start listing your site's going to be pain the ars! to navigate.
Just some helpful advice.....

Thanks ThaidDown for the quick reply...appreciated

Can anyone tell me if you have these together (gold package and BBC entertainment) - without taking the platinum package with True Vision.
If so how much per month?
Thanks

Check the link below to an article in the UK's Daily Mail newspaper today about the elephant trade between Burma and Thailand and how elephants find their way to Thailands elephant camps. Not a pleasant read.

The owner of 'The Garden Guest House' on Rotchendamnoen Rd makes some of the most beautiful, creative websites I've seen. You might want to stop in and talk with him. His name is Tim. He's a Brit, so his English is almost fluent.
Funny that cos he said his website (Garden Guest House) was built by a Thai guy........mmm

Dear Pee-air.......no doubt hot air also
Couple things about your post...... My opinion is that you are a liar.
If you read this then that shall suffice as proof that you lie, as you state you will not follow this thread again.... Ha..... with an ego like yours small chance of that..
Let me guess did you not have any food , in your noble estimation that was edible in CM??? If you did, my apologies, as I must have missed that among your ranting...
But I tell you there is one thing in your ranting post that I DO agree with you on......... Glad you are not in CM any longer and back home now.......hope the rock is not too heavy.
Just one more thing...... there are many, many nice , polite and simply great French people who visit CM... I am sorry that you are not in that group.... Get over your self perceived greatness.
Were the monks chanting off key also...... you didn't mention any of the good things that may have occurred on your holiday.
Sayanora Pee-Air
I think your post is over the top Gonzo. You were not there at the time this guy was at the old bell so to post comments such as the stuff above is out of order.
Quite how your post has lasted 2 hours on this forum without being deleted is a mystery.

According to the World Health Organisation.....
"The death toll from road accidents in Thailand is among the worst worldwide.
Officially, between 2000 and 2010, an average of 12,000 people were killed on the country’s roads each year, but as police record a death only if it occurs at the scene of the crash – rather than within 30 days as is accepted practice in most other countries – these figures are widely accepted to be distorted.
The real figure is estimated to be closer to 20,000 annually.
This compares with 3,000 deaths a year in the UK – a country with a similar sized population."
Frightening, but I think most of know there is a huge number of needless deaths here.
If the Thai authorities can't get their head round these numbers and to do what needs to be done......then that is really ________ (fill in the blank).

So some posts are deleted that dare to criticise....mmmm work that out.
I have frequented Dukes a number of times over 6 years and the service was invariable crap and got worse. Last time the owners son more or less told me to f @@@ off, having waited 20 minutes for food and only 4 people in the place. So tell me this place is worth a visit.

Ate at Duke's Riverside once and never again. One of the worst meals I've eaten in Thailand. Soggy, limp, oil-soaked chips, Caesar salad sans anchovies, and a dried out bun for the burger - except for the bottom which was swimming in juice from the unrested burger patty. Never again.
I never got the chance to post, the thread was closed.....close this thread rule 6 http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/536779-dukes/page__fromsearch__1

Which hospital writes down the medicine so you can go to an outside pharmacy?
-
I wouldn't take much notice of reviews here, especially about doctors and hospitals. I tried 2 private docs with practices in CM who were given glowing recommendations on TV and found them to be useless. One in particular in the Hang Dong area could be described as a fraud. Both overcharged like crazy.
Lanna over prescribe - nothing unusual - but make sure to ask what drug(s) they are prescribing and what they are supposed to achieve, before you get to the cashier.
Any doc or hospital here is first and fourmost a business.
-
Picked up by the local media with the obligatory perp walk photo, and as usual a helpful (presumably) police presence to ensure suspect recalls correctly.
You do realize this is a English forum do you not?
You do realise that realize is not English?

rayw what a good straight post.
A breathe of fresh air of common sense.

The other thing to be aware of is to not let the card out of your sight.
In one shop the 2nd sales assistant took the credit card away and wrote on a piece of paper my name, card number, exp date and the 3 digit security code.
Needless to say, I got that piece of paper back from over the counter.
-
Vagabond Siam TV have been doing this for years. Everywhere I go (I don't use the credit card more than once a year) I insist that they bill me in Thai baht.
