  1. Have been going to Lamai Beach for the past 10 years and it one of my biggest pet hates.

If you walk along the beach there seem to be dogs everywhere. Then they appear in the Main Street at night. All rather unpleasant.

Get rid of them and ladyboys on motor bikes, they seem to appear out of nowhere, and it will be a much nicer place.

  2. Arrivals in Samui are the highest they have ever been. It's the kind of tourists that is changing.

Many more tourists now are Chinese, Russian, or Boutique hotel guests. They never leave their resort while here. They stay in the hotel bar drinking. They eat in the hotel restaurant, and they go on tours organised through the hotel.

So businesses located in the tourism precincts are struggling, while resorts are making a fortune.

    You could be right.

This is my 10th year coming to Lamai and I have never seen the bars so empty. They also seem to stay open as long as there are punters.

I was walking back at 0330 last night and loads were still open with music playing.

Definitely a change of tourist type though I am sure that will change next month. Speaking to a bar owner, they all seem to be banking on a good Dec and Jan.

  3. I have flown with AY a few times, last being Nov 2014. It was not flat going out but was coming back. Have booked again for Nov and on seat allocations it suggests it's the new A330 but it may of course change.

You can't compare it to BA business but it's certainly a level up from premium economy. I paid £1400. I wouldn't use them if on business but it works for me going on holiday.

  4. I'm flying LHR-BKK this Thursday on EVA. Have flown both loads of times.. Never flown economy on EVA, only premium and the old business, but I always found them ok. The food is always a disappointment though. Will be flying their new business cabin to BKK and premium economy back.

If Thai were to install premium economy and use their new business cabin on the route and have prices that matched EVA, I would probably choose Thai. Not much in it though.

As a matter of interest, where did you book your ticket ? I can't see an option on the EVA website to mix cabins going out/back. Cheers

  5. Oh and the seats are 90's style cradle....hahahaha

I can live with the sloping flat seats if it means keeping the price down. I was very disappointed when EVA ditched them and put up their prices. Happily, I got a mixed business/PE ticket for January for £1400 on EVA. If Thai did PE I would consider them for a good price.

That's a good idea. I just came back from BKK and paid £1400 for return biz on Finnair. Going is ok, just seems forever stopping off in HEL.

  6. I just think it's so easy to criticise. So many people are scammed in many devious and clever ways. Sure he probably should of seen it coming but like so many before him he didn't.

I was walking around some bars in Koh Samui last night. There are so many very pretty and sexy girls around and I guess it's so easy to fall for them. They have what you want and vice a versa. I am too battle hardened to fall for them now but more often than not still end up with a bar bill far in excess of what I was expecting.

I was hoping this would be a post with no snide remarks....hopefully one day TV will have a post with out the trolls....one day

There is always one troll on every thread.

You can't go wrong with QR business or an iPhone mate. Enjoy

  8. Can't believe that anyone would defend a Captain who flouts aviation regulations.

Its not like hes flying under telegraph poles. Hes having a sneaky cig on a low cost airline.

Thats if the poster is to be beleived. The man next to him may have had his smoking jacket on.

Sent from my GT-I9300T using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Let him have a glass of wine with his lunch as well. No problem at all.
