  1. just recently ive been having few problems with health and also visa problems with wife and kids visa,s etc, everything is taking its toll. sometimes its very hard to be upbeat about things but i do try. anyway one of my wifes friends has made me aware that its not good to be negitive and grumpy, well its ok for her , because she has just recently dumped a millionaire whistling.gif and has 2 children to him.

i know thai people like sanook sanaan even in work, as do i but im just wondering how so many of them can live like this, nothing too much seems to get them down at all , my guessing is that they will go onto a new life so that in itself is where they maybe get the mai pen rai attitute whereas we falangs on the other hand struggle mostly with our lives.

    just a thought wai.gif

  2. good point andy, though i would imagine that ukba would ask for her passport back once application is processed. obviously common sense would suggest they send her out some sort of official document stating the outcome of the decision and then ask for her to send her passport back into them to be stamped.

PS. she cannot be refused entry , her child was granted entry recently ( PR ) by a high court ruling in uk against the ukba after they first refused him. so no way can they refuse her PR now, its just a matter of her waiting and getting passport officially stamped so as she can go get her son who is in thailand, 10 year old, nnever outside thailand, he cannot fly himself.

  3. hi , thanks for the info, wife got her passport back onlt 4 weeks after she submitted her app . she has her passport in her posession, we fear if she travels to thailand and then when she is ready to return to thailand that either thai immigration / airlines / or ukba will not let her enter.

in her passport it states her resident stamp is expiried since march 2013. home office did not even have the decency to confirm in writing that they received her PR app, they just sent the passports back as i requested them back because i had to go travel to work and they sent all passports back including my wifes.

maybe by law her visa status is still lawfull in uk as her application is pending but we fear thai airline/immigration will not let her fly.

  4. just read ukba has a backlog and will not clear it untill 2037 ( daily express ) my wifes pr visa app has been with ukba 7 months allready. she wants to go out of uk now but cannot. i got our local MP onto her case and MP contacted colleague in london and word has come back that she may not even get a reply never mind a visa from ukba for months ... <deleted> !!

without going into detail my wife absolutely needs to travel to thailand , she is out of her mind with worry. her resident cars has expired on 19 mar 2013......she fears and i fear that if she were to leave uk and go to thailand then on her return ( at bkk or london airports ) she would be stopped from entering uk.

    help

  5. i am due to go to thailand in next 2 weeks, will stay for a couple of weeks, ive been many many times to pattaya, bkk, udon thani , ive also been to sihanoukville in cambo and also to ventienne in laos.

i just want to try something different this time, sick of wasting my time sitting in a pattaya bar day and night, i like girls ( obviously) some night life though i also like culture and nice scenery. phuket is nice as is krabi . anyway i want to hear from people who have hired a car/motorbike out and travelled around the country and what they expirienced and just hear some stories of where to go, where to stay, and the pitfalls of travelling around on a motorbike if any. also what type of bike would be best to travel on.

    cheers

ps. i would even be prepared to try vietnam .......stories please

  6. apex hotel and lek hotel both on 2nd road, both serve absolute slop 220 baht thats £4.40 or $7..........i personally eat light at kiss food on 2nd rd, kiss is one of the best places in pattaya for good cheap food and fast service.

though nothing in this world beats a coffee and a plate of pad kapow moo latte song kai dow mai suuk on soi nam keing for 60b ;-)

  7. a friend of my wifes was telling me yesterday that she recently failed the ( life in uk ) test.....such questions as " who were morcambe and wise " etc etc ...like how to hell is anyone never mind a thai lady meant to know that ? anyway this is a brief outline of her story. she was married in thailand 4 years ago , she since came back to uk with husband, she is working hard, pays taxes , her husband also works, they own house and land, no children, she came under a spouse visa. her PR application was in with ukba and her application was pending even before they brought this test out, she since failed it.

what next for her. can she be kicked out, seperated from her husband ? obviously they will take any decision to eu courts etc and fight it.

    thankyou in advance

  8. i have 1 mill in thai bank, it was put in there when the baht rate was around 54 to the gbp. i think today it is floating around 43 ? if i took it out now and sent it back to uk via TT how much would i win or lose on the transfer.

im crap at maths and things of this nature so please forgive me for asking. also is it better to use paypal as i have a PP account , my money is with kasikorn, if i were to use PAYPAL would it simply be a matter of withdrawing funds and inserting my kasikorn bank account number ?

    thankyou.
