  1. Hilarious, it's like asking big C for the item free when they get the price wrong, only for them to claim you the customer put the wrong price on the shelf! I think Wallen is doing itself more harm then good with this thread

sms, you are obviously a marketing expert. i am at the stage in my life that if I don't make any more money I will not worry too much about it but I do enjoy running this wonderful business and many benefit from me doing that. So far I have an inbox full of applicants so it cannot be that bad. When i was promoting ED visas people like you were writing exactly the same things, scam, i am killing my school and so on. Now there are tens of thousands of people in ED visas. So time will show what happens.

Please note, it is not Wallen but Walen.

Since your inbox is full, why are you wasting your time on making threads and responding?? Should not you be going through all those emails?

Hence you are so wealthy now, i still do not understand why you pay such a low wage to your staff? both English and Thai teachers?

You bet me to that post!

I really know nothing about teaching in Thailand (apart from 18 years ago when I first came here and I lasted about 2 hours - it was not paid just a favor)

Since then I have worked my balls off to be where I am; and I am only wasting my time here as this topic keeps coming up the top of the forum (I am trying to finalize my application for TC)

but its a riveting read I must say!

it's just a matter of post until someone will mis spell "Wallen" and drop the "En" and adds a Y "Wally" LOL

I am Not married...but I bought a Condo apartment in Chiang mai...about 10 years ago...The lady at the Land office translated my name so on the Chanood (Certificate of ownership) of the apartment my name is in thai.....there were no certification from anybody...just the lady translated my name letter by letter.

With this and a letter of Certificate of address from the immigration (it was free at that time) I went to the local Amphur....and I got the yellow book after 3 months

My certificate of residence was free also, this year, although she did say they usually charge for it - how much is it?

A tip to save getting the translated passport - tell the guy at the amphur that your embassy only certifies things written in English.

    Ok nice tip thanks

  5. I was informed at the Amphur on koh samui that the cost of putting me in a yellow book was 10,000 baht by one of the women. ended up not needing the yellow book anyway, but has anyone else had to pay for a book ?

Officially, I believe therei no charge. I personally paid nothing for my yellow book, issued in North Thailand. Maybe your Amphur are looking to have a party.

Out of intreast anyone tried at aumpur prak kret (changwattana road) thanks

  6. my post is sub topic related.

We,my family as a whole, are foreigners in Thailand so our marriage didn't need to be registered at the Amphur.

However our yellow book house registration had all the mentioned translated documents needed.

Is there anyone of our respected visitors or members whom had translated his Thai marriage  registration document from Thai to English?

    (sneak peak copy)

    just curious,

The only case I had to translatr it to english was when I applied for my kids british passport. The whole process was pretty painless actually...

  7. What is accepted seems to vary but mooban chief is the one thing I have seen mentioned the most.

Thanks so iguess I find them and then its part of thier duty/job to go ask my neighbours that I do actualy live where I say I live? Or maybe being a farang they probably already know me this being thailand and they seem to know of us farangs withing a 20km radius lol

  8. Long-shot, but hopefully somebody might be able to point me in the right direction.

I am after a large 2x3 piece of PVC material for a project of mine. It needs to be strong, yet able to project images onto via a projector.

Does anybody know where I might be able to find such material?

    Regards

If its for that screen in the picture then use the outdoor pri nting fabric (the type you see large adverts on the side of buildings) can just go to the pri nting shops in mbk they could point you in the right direction

  9. AFAIK yellow book does not provide medical care but it might fool a local facility - but your cost there would likely be minimal without anyhow.  Donations are welcomed from anyone able to make.

Being in city does not mean there is no local mooban chief - there are villages throughout the city.

Understand that but would a letter from my direct neighbours with a copy of their id and house book surfice? As for one I have no idea who the moobaan cheif is - densly populated area

  10. When my wife asked about the yellow book at the local Amphur she was told that our marriage ceremony had to have been in Thailand. My response was can "only married people get a yellow book"? Yes was the answer. Also we were told that they did not have, and could not get any Yellow Books.

A couple of months later we were in the Amphur on another matter and met the new head of the Amphur. My wife asked him about the yellow book. He told us no problem and took us to a lady who was instructed to issue it ASAP. She opened a very large box under her desk and inside there were hundreds of these books. She told us they had been under her desk for the last 2 years and no one had ever wanted a yellow book.

Next afternoon she phoned, my book was ready.

  11. There are many benefits, mainly registration of car and drivers license is easy as well as you can be listed in the local hospital as a resident and get treatment for free.

Documents vary from Amphor to Amphor.

I needed a translated copy of my passport endorsed by embassy an Ministry of foreign affairs

Poo yai baan to confirm I live here for some time

My wifes blue book and her id cards

    This was all

the interview takes about one hour (it helps to speak some Thai) and the document took about three weeks to be ready for collection

Getting poo yai baan woukd be hard as I dont know them living in bangkok I guess getting a letter from my neighbours would do?

  12. Mario has all the facts correct.

I recently got my "yellow book" and didn't need my passport translated.....but required our marriage certificate translated and verified (as we were married in Australia).

Plus the wife's blue book, ID card, photos and lots of patience.

    Cheers.

Thanks for the info how long did the whole process take?

    Cheers

  13. Per above reply from Dork, there are rules they have to follow. Asking them to put it in writing makes them reconsider their position.

That's as it may be...but you know yourself, In Thailand the rules are open to interpreted at a local level.

My wife is reluctant to try again, so Iv'e more or less given up...

Sorry to hear that thanks for you info I will try. Well I must :(

  14. That is the basic list but you might need more. Photos are required but that varies as to size.

Just go the Amphoe and see if what you have is enough.

    Book should be free.

many thanks any ideas on time frame?

If you happen to find you have a district office like we have, you will not get one.

I have been here more than three years, have a Thai wife and a house. I have tried to jump through their hoops three times but they always found another hoop.

Finally they said NO. They say that they have too many farang whom they have issued a yellow book to, but they have left the country or moved away.

    Good Luck...

oh that doesnt sound great may i ask where that is? i am only doing this for my citizenship as the local police told me it was the only missing document.... i well take all those documents with me so they understand why i need it....

    thanks for the info
