This number is for illegal THC vapes, not e cigarettes as you think, it has nothing to do with normal e liquids. I don t think you checked your source or you don t understand what we are talking about.

By the way, even if this number was real which is not, take alook at this from the CDC, you are more than welcome:

    https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/index.htm#diseases

    • Worldwide, tobacco use causes more than 7 million deaths per year.2 If the pattern of smoking all over the globe doesn’t change, more than 8 million people a year will die from diseases related to tobacco use by 2030.3
    • Cigarette smoking is responsible for more than 480,000 deaths per year in the United States, including more than 41,000 deaths resulting from secondhand smoke exposure. This is about one in five deaths annually, or 1,300 deaths every day.1
    • On average, smokers die 10 years earlier than nonsmokers.4
    • If smoking continues at the current rate among U.S. youth, 5.6 million of today’s Americans younger than 18 years of age are expected to die prematurely from a smoking-related illness. This represents about one in every 13 Americans aged 17 years or younger who are alive today.1

people do not read ... that is  a fact, but they can state as facts any payed headline ... this is how the world runs nowadays ... too sad

Acute exposure to e-cigarettes causes inflammation and pulmonary endothelial oxidative stress in nonsmoking, healthy young subjects | American Journal of Physiology-Lung Cellular and Molecular Physiology

in short it is very unhealthy and causes many kind of health problems.

The use of electronic cigarettes (e-cig) has been growing rapidly among the US population, particularly among youth and young adults (49). This is an unsettling trend given the limited information on the effects of aerosolized components and the thermal degradation products contained in e-cig vapor. To date, there is little evidence to support the widespread perception that e-cigs are a safer alternative to tobacco cigarette smoking. Furthermore, recent evidence has demonstrated that regardless of nicotine levels, inhalation of e-cig aerosol alone has multiple adverse health impacts (48, 50, 61, 64).

have you read carefully the studies posted? I have done with #48, it uses 10 young adults, not used to vaping and puts them in an acute exposure (their words not mine), the results are some reaction, very variable, there are subjects with nearly no reaction, and only one with an acute one, parameters rise 2 hours after vaping, and disappear 4 hours later

another important bias in the study is in the way the make them puff, they have to restrain from taking air  from their nose while vaping, I do vape daily, and I always inhale with both my mouth and nose ... so the vaping situation monitored is forced, not real

of course the body reacts in several ways when you introduce external elements inside, but the study does not show any harm in the subjects, and what is more important, the effect of inhalation dissapears quickly

if companies had so much interest in demonstrating the lethal actual and real effects of alcohol ingestion, probably it would be banned in the whole world ... but no, it won't happen, there are drugs and behaviours admited by capitalism, and others that endanger their profits are not ...

OMG, editing again, the supposed 4 studies linked at the bottom of you message quoted here are only one ... the 4 links numbered differently direct to the exact same paper I am talking about ....

another strategy of spreading lies about vaping, you put 4 links supposed to be 4 studies that nearly nobody ever reads or even open, and it is only one prepared and biased experiment forced to produce some results that people get as conclusive and scientific facts ... so powerful is the fight of traditional tobacco industry against something that can kill their business

and your conclusion that "it is very unhealthy and causes many kind of health problems" has nothing to do with what the only study says, zero proof provided of the unhealthiness of vaping in your links, as usual, just cheap propaganda sponsored by whoever may have payed for the forced study

these are their conclusions "These findings suggest that even in the absence of nicotine, acute e-cig aerosol inhalation leads to a transient increase in oxidative stress and inflammation. This can adversely affect the vascular endothelial network by promoting oxidative stress and immune cell adhesion. Thus e-cig inhalation has the potential to drive the onset of vascular pathologies."

suggest ... transient ... this can affect ... has the potential ... all expresions are speculative, not factual

please, do not spread lies, be more critical with what they make you think about everything, we have to many of that everywhere

    At your age enjoy yourself.

Whatever you're doing seems to work.

I was a smoker for 20 years and quit.  Its been 5 years now.

That was one of the hardest things to quit.

I still get urges to smoke.

I got urges to smoke when I was vaping with no nicotine (nearly 2 years) then I decided to go back to nicotine, and 3 years later no urge at all, I vape 2 mililitres per day in a pod system, maybe you should try it if you are tempted to smoke again.

And as I already said, when I started vaping I had no intention at all to quit smoking, but I did it because vaping is more satisfying, clean and healthy to me and to everyone around me.

Plenty of proof its addictive and deadly.

    OMG ... this is quoted from the link provided;

"with vaping, we simply don’t know the short- or long-term effects yet and which e-cigarette components are to blame"

if your link states we do NOT know, how you do convert it in actual deaths?

nobody has ever died in the whole world for vaping vaping products, show me just one case, please

I have been vaping now for 9 years from smoking 60 cigarettes' a day and not had one since. My cardio ha improved and at 73 years old i cycle and run never like before i smoked . If idiots vape on THC or vitamin E or any other oil based substances then you will be in trouble. according to the royal collage  of physicians  Uk it is 95% safer than smoking. Thailand has made Kratom legal and that will mess up your brain. it about time some good sense has been announce by a minister. i agree blowing huge cloud of WATER Vapor is annoying to others and some of the flavor's can be a bit smelly but then so is petrol and diesel fumes. As foe making it legal a would think the tobacco company of Thailand will block it as they would lose too much money on the sale of cigarettes'

nobody talks about incense smoke, it is so much more harmful to people than vaping vapour, moreover I do use pods, they produce so little vapour I can use it without nobody getting any of my vapour, first or second use

and about smelling bad ... well there are a lot of bad smells in every places of the world, Thailand included

  6. I am 64, been a smoker since my early teens, on may 2016, I started using vaping devices, first for fun, but in weeks I quit smoking, i did not intend to, but it was more satisfying to me, before that date and since 2008 I spent one or two months in thailand on vacation with my partner, since I started vaping we never came back there ... switched to other asian countries instead. I will not enter Thailand again while actual laws about vaping don't change drastically, because I would have to use tobacco again, after more than 5 years away from it, it is ridiculous, maybe this has something to do with the proposal. Actual law may put you in jail waiting for trial if found in posession of just one vape device even if not using it. It is forbiden to import the devices, not the use of them, but we all know how thai police works, you can read a lot of really nasty experiences about having a vaping devices and their work.

So, I totally agree with the proposition.

About health and vaping, not one person has been reported dead or seriously ill because of vaping, you won't find a single real case, people dying in USA were vaping other adultered drugs in their devices, it has nothing to do with actual vaping liquids. Meanwhile NHS are prescribing Pfizer ´Champix, a product that has caused deads, even in the prospect it talks about depression and posible suicide as secondary effects after they actually happened. Fortunately this product has also cancerigen substances, and a few  weeks ago it was completely retired from the market.

As for passive vaping persons, there has been some studies made, and it has not proved to be harmfull in any way to people around, wich is no surprise, as no vaping people has been rightfully diagnosed  of health issues because of vaping.

Nicotine is adictive, yes, it is, but it is also harmless in the quantities used by vapers, Again not a single study has proved any medical condition related with nicotine use in these ammounts.

So I think it is a movement in the righ direction, something that will have no cost, apart from the lost of taxes from ex smokers, and will put thailand again in the spot of the millions of vapers around the world that need vaping to avoid smoking, as I do.

reporting every 48 hours away from home is ridiculous... so now we aren't able to go anywhere!!

The hotel does this - not you !

if you say so ... what is this application form for then?

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/files/file/15-tm28-form-for-aliens-to-notify-their-change-of-address-or-their-stay-in-the-province-over-24-hours/

  8. about carrying an ID with you, well, it happens in many parts of the world, it really is not a hassle, but reporting to inmigration every change of residence if it is for longer than 24 hours???? Tourism in Thailand is dead if you have to follow this rule, this is absolute nonsense.

I think I am turning west for my holidays, Costa Rica seems good to me.

  9. I have just got an implant made at home in Madrid in a brand new clinic with all kinds of hi tech stuff and materials, 3D radiography, laser drilling, etc. and I have paid 1400 euros, that is about the same 65000 bahts you are saying, so I agree that europe prices are similar in this case so no need to do them in thailand.

  10. I am not sure if many of you have actually read or understood the opening post ... the news is this:

1- There is a tax exemption for green tea to helps manufacturers.

2- Green tea ready to drink made beverages (soft drinks with the name green tea) have so small a part of green tea, that they should not be considered green tea.

3- So this beverages are not having that tax exemption anymore.

This has nothing to do with recaudatory needs or urges, this is comon sense to me ... some big companies are paying less taxes just for throwing in a ridiculous small quantity of green tea in some products ... from now on they will have to pay the same taxes for green tea beverages as they pay for coffee, orange, or any other ingredient soft beverages.

    That,s it.

  11. I usually get rid of all normal taxi scams, but there is one that has happened twice to me, that is quite difficult to avoid, and that is the hacked taxi meter

what can you do when you are in a taxi and you see clearly that the meter is running much quicker than it should? stop the taxi in the middle of a highway? ... this is the worst scam, the only thing I can think when this happens is tell the driver to get off the highway an look for another car, but when you have your baggage and have just come from a trans ocean flight, what usually happens is that you end up paying what the hacked meter says

the only tip I can give for avoiding this scam is not to get into cabs that has not visible the fare per km, in both ocasions this happened to me this was not visible anywhare in the cab

does the paper they give you at the airport has any use in preventing this? has anybody used this paper an phone number they provide to do any claim ever?

  12. OMG ... now that thai airways hides it's logo when having an accident, and indirectly states that regional flights have less secure planes ... are you avoiding too thai airways for domestic flights same way you do with flyorienthai? ...

    Orient thai airlines

Seriously?  Do you even know anything about the airline's history and maintenance quality?

since 2007 there has been two incidents with now flyorienthay previously 12go, one fatal in 2007, the last one just an emergency landing, like so many happening everyday around the world, six years with let's say at least 10 flights a day, that means more than 20.000 flights, since then, so if statistics work always the same, and the company is doing everything as bad as it was in 2007, that means that you have to make 10.000 flights with flyorienthai to make sure you have a serious incident ... making a couple of flights per year I should need to live for 5000 years to make sure I die flying with flyorienthai .... or maybe I am lucky and I get only the emergency landing, so I should need another 5000 more years ...

I wish that could happen to me, a lot of years ahead to get fun in Thailand Posted Image

yeah ok, nice try. Fact: One-Two-Go aircraft have been re-branded as Orient Thai (Orient Thai always owned 1-2-Go)

People should make decisions based on that.

my figures are taking that for granted

  15. OrientThai is in no way part of THAI. It is a low cost carrier with a rather chequered history on safety. No way would I use it. They had an emergency landing last week on a flight from HK and a few years ago killed many in a crash at Phuket. I value my life too much to use dubious carriers and am happy to pay a little more for safety and convenience.

If you want to fly in an old plane with pilots with poor command of English, the language of ATC, and questionable qualifications then buy the cheapest. Up to you.

Sent from my Nexus 7 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

you are right about the wrong connection with thai airways, my mistake

about safety records, 89 deaths in an airline with so few planes will maintain it as unsafe for more than a decade, statistics work this way

I read about their emergency landing in surat thani, no big deal for me, emergency landings ending happyly are not the sort of things that make me distrust ... problems ocurr everywhere, final resolution is what counts for me

anyway I understand your point of view perfectly smile.png
