  1. Does anybody know whether we are allowed to sleep overnight inside the Don Muang airport?
  2. I wonder whether there is a similar sperm or egg donation clinic in Thailand?
  3. @Hans Johnson Quote: Something smells fishy here. What is Big Joke doing in Chaingmai. It’s out of his jurisdiction; he’s based in Bangkok or has he been transferred again. Are there not discreet simulated sex shows in Bangkok as well?
  4. I am suggesting that mobile immigration move to KSK instead due to its better location; not that it once was there. It's a real bummer that Promenada is closed, I bought my laptop at Chi Chang a few months back, now I don't know where they moved to.
  5. Actually, it is only 3% in the south. The rest aren't making noises. https://eastasiaorigin.blogspot.com/2017/07/main-ethnicities-in-thailand.html
  6. The majority rules in a democratic society, the Muslims are only a minority in Thailand.
  7. Let's just hope there won't be another U-turn with the Monkeypox and new Covid variants.
  8. There is an account in Krungthai bank for 1.5% but I heard it's only for Thai citizens, can anybody confirm. @JimmyJ 1.5% is definitely the highest in Thailand right now. Most banks only give 0.5% for one year fixed deposit.
  9. Totally agree. Remember it was a very young Thai guy riding on a fast motorbike which caused the death of a doctor while she was walking along the zebra crossing a while back. There's nothing wrong with an elderly guy riding a bike if he drives slowly.
  10. Just wait until the long recession comes, then we will see whether Bitcoin or gold is more valuable.
  11. Gold and houses are tangible and useful things with intrinsic values whereas Bitcoin is just a digital thing that can be wiped out in a second if less people play in the game. If fluctuation of Bitcoin is much bigger than gold and houses because the risk is higher. The prices of gold and houses in good location follow inflation rate and have been rising and won't drop much even in a recession. Stocks are linked to real companies which has the potential to earn dividend and produce certain tangible goods or services. McDonald who produce burgers, Apple which produce computers etc. Of course, you should buy blue-chip stocks like good banks which have fairly stable value. Does Bitcoin have any tangible goods that people want? like gold or houses... No, it's just a ponzi scheme that is funded by new members money. Anyway, there's no point arguing until one becomes the victim of this ponzi scheme.
  12. I didn't say anyone can create Bitcoin, did I? It's being created by the powerful financial people (bankers) in certain countries at the press of the button. It's just like casinos are created by certain powerful and connected people. When someone gains money in a casino, it is due to another person losing money in the same casino. There are more losers than gainers in a casino, that's how the casino earns money. There is no exchange of goods in a casino, is there?
  13. Gold cannot be created by men; thus, it is limited in quantity. Gold were created by exploding stars. Bitcoin is digital and can be created just by the press of the button. Millions can disappear overnight if people lose confidence in it.
  14. Gold is something tangible whereas Bitcoin is digital/intangible and created out of thin air. Bitcoin is a pyramid scheme where some people gain money at the expense of somebody else losing their hard-earned money! So it's a win-lose combination and similar to gambling. If you are at the losing end , you won't think Bitcoin is great. Do not gain at the expense of somebody else suffering, that's why I don't dabble in bitcoin.
  15. You think so? People are already demanding for Monkeypox vaccines in the USA.
  16. I got the same treatment, they should really explain to people not to come in the future if there is no change of address if we reenter the country. Alas, it wasn't informed to us.
  17. When we reenter Thailand, we get a new white arrival card with a new number, don't we? I thought a TM30 update just mean updating their system with the new white card number and the date of arrival, correct me if I am wrong (if the address and visa is the same) Whenever we do a 90 day report, we use the new arrival card number.
  18. It doesn't take 3 minutes! The last time (a few weeks back) I had to wait almost half an hour because one girl (probably agent) had tons of passports to update, another farang woman with a family of four had to wait almost 10 minutes just to update the 4 passports which is ridiculous.
  19. What about updating the new number on the white card, is this unnecessary as well? If Chiang Mai immigration does not comply with the new regulation, do we get a fine if we do not report?
  20. Where is the official statement regarding this? I just entered on a re-entry permit with same address a few weeks back and went to update my TM30 at immigration Chiang Mai. The staff there didn't mention anything about not needing to update my TM30.
  21. No, it's near the moat at Chang Phuak gate near the Chang Phuak bus station. The address is given above.
  22. There are actually 2 Bangkok Bank branches along that long road. The Chang Phuak gate branch is at 125 ChangPhuak Road which is closer to the moat. But I suggest going to Central Festival instead if we want the convenience of shopping mall hours.
  23. Sometimes, I do my banking at Bangkok Bank Central Festival. The place is quite cramped/small when compared to KSK branch. There is a long queue this morning with only 2 counters opened. The staff there is quite nice though, they don't request for original passport for cash withdrawals unlike most branches.
  24. The location of KSK is much more central than Promenada, many foreigners also stay around that area so it is super convenient. It would be great if immigration opened an office there. Is it confirmed that the immigration office at Promenada is closed?
