  1. I know most people here go to Airport Plaza but I went to Nakornping Hospital instead because I live in the northern area outside the city center. Airport Plaza is situated in the southern area which is farther for me. Just telling my experience and for those who want other options than Airport Plaza for one reason or another.
  2. Has anybody make a stopover (non-direct flight) and switch to another airline during the stopover. Will the second airline require a PCR test within 72 hours because that would be impossible on transit.
  3. I got my mor phrom update less than half an hour after the shot.
  4. I suggest you go to Nakornping Hospital instead as you don't need to climb up any stairs or lifts like the shopping malls. Ask for a wheelchair at the emergency counter and either pay some hospital staff to push you there or bring your friend along to push the wheelchair. The hospital vaccination rooms are on the ground floor but the hospital is huge.
  5. The last time I checked, the only two places in Chiang Mai that does daily walk-in vaccinations are Nakornping hospital and Airport Plaza. The other hospitals do it only on certain special days. So your best bet is to go to Airport Plaza if you want it in the city center.
  6. Get rid of that expensive PCR test on arrival and expensive insurance. I am sure more tourists will come back. It has been proven that all these Covid tests and quarantine are useless, because the virus still managed to pervade every nation and even get the infection figures higher. Just live with the virus.
  7. You can get your booster shot at airport plaza but I actually went to Nakornping Hospital myself just a few days ago. You can walk-in any time, any weekday at Nakornping. You can choose any type of vaccine like Astra, Pfizer and even Sinovac at Nakornping Hospital but the hospital is huge so it takes some time to find the right room.
  8. Anyway, go and apply for the residence cert tomorrow and see how it goes. Do bring along your passport, passport size photo, photocopies of your visa and passport pages, white arrival card and rental agreement. The branch at Kad Suan Kaew has the most number of foreign retirees in Chiang Mai so it's better to open your account at that branch just in case there's any problems in the future.
  9. You can get your residence cert in one day if you pay a certain sum of money (last time I checked was 500 baht) to the girl issuing the cert. Go to Bangkok Bank at Kad Suan Kaew branch, they have handled many retiree cases like yours. I am not sure whether they can accept your rental agreement without residence cert but you can try first. Explain to them the purpose of you opening a bank account for retirement extension and they should approve it. If the staff prove to be difficult, ask to talk to the branch manager.
  10. Really disgusting. How can she concoct a tale to cover her tracks and then blaming the Chinese for it? What if some non-Thai did the same thing and blame the Thai for something they didn't do?
  11. I am a non-smoker too , but the contact with second hand smokers almost everyday gave me migraines as my sinus was inflamed. Ever since I cleared out my sinus and avoid smokers, I never got any migraines anymore.
  12. Can someone recommend a PCR test near Don Muang airport or walking distance to BTS that is not far from the airport?
  13. Thanks. This is definitely much cheaper than what was offered by AXA that some people here were 'recommending'. Did you use it to enter Thailand without any problems? I am just afraid that it is not recognized by the Thai government.
  14. I think that is the situation before 1 April. Hopefully, after 1 April we just need to do the test at the airport and if negative, off we go.
  15. Which Covid insurance did you take that offerred 700 baht? The last I checked it was a few thousand baht.
  16. They should be doing only ATK test (No PCR test) on 1 Apr and declaring endemic on 1 July. The PCR test is costly (and painful up the nose) for foreigners, and Covid insurance of 20,000 USD is also expensive. These two should be scrapped for those fully vaccinated.
  17. I suggest Learn Thai with Mod, they speak excellent English and can point out the common mistakes that most farang made. They do private lessons online. https://learnthaiwithmod.com/skype-training/ Unluckily, most of the Thai teachers who teach in classrooms in Chiang Mai can't teach nor explain properly from my experience.
  18. Forgot password will send you another cryptic password to your email
  19. Do you smoke or in constant contact with second hand smokers? That can irritate/inflame the sinus and cause migraine. If so, stop smoking and clean out your sinus.
  20. That is a valuable piece of land, I think some new developer bought the land to develop into something that is of commercial value.
  21. Is there a way to change the password in the new system? I can't seem to find it, the given password is cryptic.
  22. Your ed visa is tied to your school so you have to get a new visa if you change school because not every school is approved by the immigration. There are schools which are visa mills where the students hardly attend classes.
  23. That sounds logical provided there are no fake Covid test certs. If somebody were to arrive in Thailand with a fake Covid test cert, he would be spreading the virus. It's impossible for Thailand to know which are real and which are fake test certs so they rely on their own test which is more reliable. Of course you can also do another Covid test before your flight first before booking the ticket. The only thing they need to do is to scrap the 5th day ATK test.
