  1. It applies to all visa types that have expired just like the Covid extension. This time the condition is that you must be Russian or Ukranian.
  2. @Jackcwba With a work permit, you can open at any banks that is convenient for you. The most foreigner friendly bank is Bangkok Bank and most of their staff can speak basic English. SCB usually has tons of customers so the queue is longer than Bangkok Bank. Banks here prefer work permit holders to retirees and tourists.
  3. If you have a Russian passport, Thailand is giving a special renewal for Russians and Ukranians that is free of charge i.e you don't have to pay the 1900 baht fee. So it is better to get a renewal instead of risking being banned from coming to Thailand in the future for overstay.
  4. Just pay someone every week or so to come in to start the car. There are many Thai people or even foreigners who are willing to do that for a fee.
  5. Ceres, Pluto, Eris all have the points of 1 and 2 and yet they were regarded as planets at one time in the past. Size has got to do with the planets because only a big planet can completely clear its orbit of any other debris. Only a big enough planet has sufficient gravity to pull in all other debris in its orbit. Ceres, Pluto, Eris are too small to clear the debris in its path.
  6. The number of true planets is 8. There are hundreds of asteroid-like or planetoid-like objects in the asteroid belt and Kuiper belt but these are not true planets because the sizes are too small. Pluto is actually just a overhyped 'discovery' but it is actually smaller than the size of our Moon. Our Moon is smaller than Mercury which is the smallest true planet.
  7. I think that is true for certain banks. There is another thread on this.
  8. I've tried searching but the search engine is a real pain to use with no results. A link would be more useful
  9. I approve of what Thailand is doing, it's the only humanitarian thing to do. Whatever their government is doing is beyond their control.
  10. I went there last week. It is nothing compared to the Burmese shop near Kad Suan Kaew. The food was little, pricey and not as tasty. Not going there anymore. I am surprised there were a lot of foreigners eating there.
  11. But I heard you have to pay hefty fees every time you withdraw or deposit into USD account, is this true?
  12. Laws keep on changing all the time in Thailand. Anyway, those people with work permit always have easier time to open bank account than retirees. Last time, i tried to open up a bank account with SCB on retirement extension, the SCB manager only accept foreigners with work permit.
  13. If Thailand wants to attract more visitors, it should lower the PCR cost and extend the 24 hours before flight. What if we tested positive, then what happens to our air ticket? By right, we should only buy the air ticket when we get a negative test.
  14. Sorry, even Thai primary school children do not learn by playing games or songs, games are only for kindergarten kids. These are adults who want to use in a business environment. One should come up with a course that is more suitable for what they want to learn and not just pick any material. (I remember that is what Thai teachers in YMCA teaching Thai language do, that's why most of their courses aren't practical enough for real conversation) Thai students have already learned the English basics while they were in school.
  15. It's better to do some planning before buying the air ticket. I wonder whether the prices have gone down by now.
  16. 2200 is definitely cheaper than 2800. I do not need a same day result, a 48 hours window is good enough. Is it this place here? https://sriphat.med.cmu.ac.th/en/home Is there an update on the prices since this thread is a few months old.
  17. @JimmyJ There are tons of vegan food in Bangkok but most of them use MSG Here is the list below https://www.happycow.net/searchmap?s=3&location=Bangkok%2C+Thailand&metric=mi&limit=81&order=default&lat=13.7337&lng=100.535&zoom=11&page=1
  18. If you don't have Mor Chana, you can use the pen and paper method to record entrance to a place. Do not be confused with Mor Prom which record your vaccination status if you did it in Thailand.
  19. I am just wondering why the source is from several Thai accounts instead of one?
  20. 90 days is definitely enough if you can put 400K in a Thai bank for at least 2 months. The trouble is opening up a bank account to put your money before getting your marriage extension.
  21. If you are not the shop's customers, it's better not to park in front of the shop because you are obstructing their customers or delivery people from parking there for a while. Remember, they are doing business and if you were in the same situation, you would do the same.
  22. There are foreigners who do not know about this rule, I've seen them smoke inside Thai eateries. Some Thai owners also don't know about these rules and let their customers smoke inside the eateries.
  23. So-called memory foam is a 'cheapo artificial latex'. Natural 100% latex is far more superior, watch the video below.
  24. @Jaymatheson You need to get a Thai person to buy latex mattress for you because they have different prices for foreigners and locals, not only in Homepro but also those latex shops inside the city center. I have experience shopping for it in Chiang Mai and the salesmen were quite dodgy. They thought that I couldn't understand Thai when they phone their manager over the phone on what price to charge me. Yeahh. double pricing...
