  1. Those 'self-defence' course is a visa mill, somebody told me that it's all theory and there was not much physical interaction if any.
  2. It is true. I had a classmate in a Thai language school who told me he once failed the Thai language test and his visa was not renewed.
  3. It's one big mess. They should inform foreigners via a big signboard stating what's the difference between the outside info counter and the inside info counter. Or can we just skip both info counters and go straight to the relevant counter.
  4. It takes a while to cool after opening the door overnight. Leave it close with electricity on for one day and see what happens
  5. What do you mean by 'not working'? Is it not cold? Is there electricity coming in?
  6. Most Thai drivers are impatient, if the traffic light is yellow, they will not slow down but speed up instead. That's why a lot of westerners need to change their mindset. Do not depend on zebra crossing for a safe slow crossing.
  7. I still see westerners riding their bike slowly in the middle of the streets in Thailand, even blocking traffic. They still think they are in Europe and not Thailand.
  8. There is some reviews of yesaway at Google Reviews. How much do they charge per day?
  9. Yes, it's the complete opposite of western attitude. Other South-East Asian countries also have the same attitude, it's due to the horrendous road congestion here when compared to western countries.
  10. Free of charge? I remembered doing this more than one year ago, and I had to pay some money..... Not sure about this though.
  11. It won't work. Thai Motorists don't care about zebra crossing because the roads are always congested and they do not want to waste more time waiting for people to cross. The Thai government should instead find ways to build more roads and ease the congestion.
  12. Master of linguistics and yet do not know the basics of migration?lol. Do you know the difference between native tongue and adopted tongue? Just because some Thai can speak English doesn't mean they are Anglo-Saxon. Better do a basic course again. Don't bother to reply anymore because I will block you.
  13. Go and study language evolution. Language in the same family show close ancestors and their common point of dispersal. Spanish and Italian both came from the same close ancestors which is the roman empire who migrated from Italy in the past. To say they are not related IS ridiculous! Rohingya are not Bangladeshi but they came from there. Or are you going to argue that white Americans did not come from Europe? lol
  14. Really? Then why do they speak a language that is very close to Bengali language (official language of Bangladesh) and also look like them physically? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rohingya_language As far as I know the natives of Arakan are the Tibetan-Burmese people such as Arakanese and other related tribes there. The early Arakanese kingdoms such as Mrauk-U and Lemro were Buddhist kingdoms and not Muslims. Le-Mro is a Arakanese word for four cities.
  15. There are many people who do not have the 800k requirement.
  16. I heard that Siam TV is much more professional than Homepro. You might want to buy from Siam TV in the future.
  17. Then there is no need for retirement visas that require 800k.
  18. The ancestors of Rohingya actually came from Bangladesh but strangely, Bangladesh do not want to accept their own flesh and blood permanently. None of the Muslim countries want to accept them except for Malaysia. That's why most are trying to flee to Malaysia. They have to pass Thailand to reach Malaysia.....
  19. Mind telling me your experience in Power Buy?
  20. I don't think you can return goods in Index. Even the Mr DIY which sells cheap goods will only allow exchange within x days.
  21. I prefer Index as their quality is higher. Ikea uses a lot of cheap materials that do not last. They are nicely painted and look nice but the material is cheap. Others might not agree, but that's my experience.
  22. At least in Bangkok, there is an alternative public transport such as trains and buses. In Chiang Mai, there aren't any trains and there is no cheap buses. The Songtaew are just expensive shared taxis that quote at least 20 baht for short trips. If the Thai government would provide good cheap public transport in other cities, a lot of these tuk-tuk and songtaew drivers would disappear.
  23. Isn't there a maximum number of months one can stay in a calendar year for 'tourists'?
  24. I am curious, why is that so? How do male dogs know whether a female dog is spayed or not to lose sexual interest on them?
  25. Thai owners think that owning a dog just means giving them food and pat. When the dog grows old, they are left abandoned somewhere. That's why owning a dog needs a lot of time and money. It's better not to own a dog if we don't have the time.
