  1. Thai people have the obnoxious habit of writing things on bank-notes. They used it as some sort of convenient paper.
  2. Let's hope that this won't be another flip-flop that will change again after two weeks of implementation. I don't think real tourists are going to come given the changing policies and fickle-mindedness of the policy makers.
  3. That webpage still doesn't have any application form except for 'leave a message' or 'contact us'. Oh, I didn't know we can open an online account at a physical branch because other banks said we have to open via website. Maybe it's better that I hop over to a branch and open there instead.
  4. I wouldn't call a few thousands in Thailand a 'small number'. There are also reported cases in other countries so when you add them all up, it's comes to a lot.
  5. Dr Yong looks more like a political tool than a respected virologist. Take his words with a punch of salt.
  6. Looks good. Could you give me the link to the website page where I can apply to open the account? I can't seem to find the page but I know the SCB website.
  7. You mean this online SCB account is also able to use the QR code displayed by the shops to make payment?
  8. OK. It sounds like a good deal if we have extra money exceeding 800k. There are no charge except for the yearly 300 baht ATM card fee then?
  9. I just heard that we can get 1.5% only if your balance is less than 100,000 baht, if it is above that amount, it is 1.0% only. Can you please confirm whether this is true or not? Can we withdraw via the counter as well?
  10. Whenever Thai people try to speak English with me, I ask them to just speak Thai because I can't understand their English at all. My Thai is better than their English even if there are mistakes. I don't know what all these native English teachers have been teaching them all these years.
  11. How much do they charge for minor day surgery?
  12. I don't why Covid test costs a few thousand baht in Thailand (almost 3000 baht), anybody know why?
  13. That was the time when Indonesia didn't have even 5 % fully vaccinated. Now that it has reached 50% fully vaccinated, the statistics are better. Just look at the statistics when mass vaccination started in Sept 2021, it decreased dramatically and remained so. Its statistics is even better than Thailand considering it has a larger population than Thailand. Even with the Omicron, it only has 770 cases versus Thailand's 6,400 cases today. As for US , you can check the latest infection rate in Worldometer yourself. https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/indonesia/
  14. I think it's because they are waiting for more students to register, it's irregular. You should email them instead of guessing.
  15. And you don't think Singapore and Israel has a higher rate? Then why are their infection rate much higher? If Sinovac were really useless, even if there is a high vaccination rate, the infection rate would go to more than 10,000 per day.
  16. You might want to email them for the dates. The email address is in the website.
  17. I wouldn't count this as death from Omicron. At 86, the immune system is not as strong as when younger. It could be other age-related factors as well.
  18. The amount of compensation is not enough to cover the amount of suffering and grief caused by death or disability.
  19. Wouldn't the 200 baht yearly maintenance offset any gain in interest from the 0.5% increase unless you have a lot of extra money.
  20. They have a reading and writing online group course too but it's recommended to know basic spoken Thai first. This is via zoom class https://learnthaiwithmod.com/reading-and-writing-thai-course/ What will you gain from this course? From our teaching experience, students take about 45-60 hours to master Thai reading. We design our reading and writing group course in stages. There are 5 stages and each stage is 15 hours Stage 1: Be able to read and write Thai letters with all vowels. Stage 2: Be able to read Thai words with tone marks and final consonants. Stage 3: Be able to read and understand sentences.
  21. Never heard of this EZ savings account before but it sounds interesting since I have excess of 800k. So how does one withdraw cash money there without a bank book? Do we need to pay for the yearly ATM fees for this account?
