Another lockdown will spell disaster for Thailand. I remember there were many who committed suicide back in 2020. First the government encourages everyone to get vaccinated, now that they have, the govt is saying the vaccinations are 'ineffective'? ???? Learn to live with the virus because the vaccination do protect us and the Omicron isn't as severe as the Delta. Runny nose, coughing and slight fever??? No big deal! It's overkill to lockdown the country like some countries I am seeing now. More people will die from suicide due to economic problems.

How do you explain the many Filipino teachers in Thailand? They are not what a native English speaker should look like.

@Tim121 From what I know so far from watching many media, Thai do give more respect to lighter-skinned people like Caucasian, light-skinned Thai, Chinese and Japanese. The darker-skinned Thai isn't seen as favorable as lighter-skinned Thai. It's not xenophobia or racism but just their culture. I am surprised you even got a teaching job in Thailand because English teachers are almost all Caucasians and Filipinos.

Ok. This is actually a Nakornping hospital vaccination exercise.... I think I saw many Thai people waiting for something inside Airport Plaza a few days ago. I didn't know they are having a booster vaccination.

He should have waited in his hotel for one day. Now he will most probably be deported and banned from entering Thailand for xx months/years? What was supposed to be a holiday has turned out to be a nightmare just because he was impatient.

Don't assume too much. After I got my 2nd shot, the hospital gave me my vaccination cert. If they can't find your booster vacc record in the future, it might be a problem. It's strange that they didn't give you any cert at all.

Did they give you an additional vaccine certificate after the booster shot? Did they ask for any prior vacc. cert. for the first two shots?

Was his Thai wife also in UK at that time? Is her condition serious or just mild flu-like symptoms?

Just a few days ago, my Thai neighbour let off firecrackers to celebrate Christmas. Since when is firecrackers associated with Christmas? Thai just like to ignite their firecrackers or guns during almost all festive seasons

So it's not independent of any banks? I already have bank accounts with 3 other banks and don't wish to open another one just to transfer money. So the only money transfer out of Thailand that is independent of any banks is still Dee Money and maybe western union? But we all know western union give one of the worst rates.

Of course, the big pharma will want to deny it and yet the detailed cause of deaths were never published even though 'no causality has been established?' If someone took a vaccine and died days later, the chances of it being caused by the vaccine is quite obvious. People do not die suddenly after taking a vaccine for no reason. Unluckily, none of us can read Japanese newspaper that will tell the details. Maybe we can ask some Japanese expats here on what the real story is.

I wish the government can be a little more transparent. How many percentage of each vaccine type got severe side effects? By severe I mean death or permanent disability (like amputated leg, heart or kidney affected) (not fever or temporary nausea which are quite normal)

You mean after having 2 booster shot, they still got infected? Then why the booster in the first place?

No, the Thai government makes it difficult for people to send money OUT of Thailand but sending money into Thailand is not a problem. The only one that is allowed is Dee Money. I wonder whether Dee Money is connected to the Thai government?

It must be painful for the family to spend quarantine nights at a hospital when they are supposed to be on Christmas holiday.

I think the confusion stems from the fact that your wife didn't learn all this rising and high tone terminology which is very confusing. Who the heck invented these misleading terms? Both are actually rising tones. In Thai schools, the Thai kids learnt them as Aehk, Thoh, Dtree, Jat Dta Waa with all the complex rules to determine the final tone. Thai kids don't learn them as high or rising...

Do you know that bank staff are overworked? I think it is ridiculous to just deposit 100 baht , sign the slip and then update the bank book as it is extra unnecessary work for the bank staff. Not all branches have a money deposit machine which will make life easier. By right, the print machine should just print balance/forward when we put our bank book into the machine without needing the assistance of any bank staff. But not all banks do that so immigration should be the one that should be flexible as long as the bank statement should every transaction.

If you are studying at a Thai univ, wouldn't it be better to ask the univ staff that is handling the case? They will be able to give you a more accurate answer whether you need to exit or not. Which univ is this?

Completely agree! Most people seem to not know (or forget) that the previous vaccines such as flu were mostly inactivated virus vaccines that have been proven safe for decades with no long term side effects reported for decades. Some of the newer vaccines with different vaccine technology have only been tested on humans for the first time during this pandemic.

This is really ridiculous and reflective of a tyrannical school. Why not change to another school? Vaccination should be optional and the right to choose the type of vaccine are the basis of human rights.

I can understand the requirement for past 12 month bank statement because there are cases of people who didn't have the financial requirement going to agent for help. But then immigration shouldn't require us to photocopy the bank book pages as well since they don't trust the bank book entries. It seems like double work to me.
