  1. Where can we buy these catapult and glass marble? I am just protecting myself in case a growling dog charges at me.
  2. I doubt any amount of money can save the situation because two young lives were lost due to his carelessness. Most probably he will be banned from coming to Thailand for xx years.
  3. At least wearing crash helmets would have saved their lives. A hard knock of the head on the road is deadly.
  4. The girls had the right of way as they were going straight on the main road. It's obvious that the foreigner was wrong, turning right without seeing incoming cars is wrong. I hope that Thai immigration ban this guy from coming to Thailand.
  5. There's nothing wrong with exercising for monks. They are there to keep their body healthy.
  6. Is there a link to the video? Were the girls wearing crash helmets?
  7. Yes, that will work, it has to be 2 months before application and it needs to be 3 months after approval too. You need to have more than 800k for your monthly expenses so that it will not go below 800k for these 5 months.
  8. If somebody put 800k in your account, do you think you will give it back to them? Of course, that's not the case.
  9. The more staff is involved, the higher will the charge be. So I think that is the case, the most important staff is the one approving it.
  10. Glass blocks won't last long if it is not put into the soil soon and watered everyday for a few weeks. So you have no choice but to hire somebody at an exorbitant labor cost or do it yourself.
  11. There are two routes: 1. The agents go through a corrupt immigration official to approve the visa without needing any 800K. Part of the fees go to the agent and part of it go to the immigration official. 2. This is different from an agent who help you into photocopying your required documents and helping you through the application process but you still need the 800K. Obviously, the fee here is much lower as this method doesn't need to bribe anyone.
  12. Go to Kham Thiang market, there are a few shops there who sell grass blocks, they will provide manpower if you order in bulk. Get a Thai translator with you because their English is limited. Don't expect good quality workmanship from them , my experience with Thai workers is that they only want to finish fast and go back before 5 pm.
  13. I know that , then why do some people still insists on other people wearing masks?
  14. I bought my Honda at Sahapanich at Chang Puek, their service is good and after-sales like changing engine oil price is lower than Honda Big-Wing which I previously bought another model.
  15. The use of face masks is now voluntary but who actually listens to the government? I see many places still reinforcing the mask ruling even after most are vaccinated so what's the point of vaccination in the first place?
  16. I said 'most' and not 'all'. I am not sure whether you realize that most of the TEFL schools in Thailand teach the trainee teachers some English grammar because most native speakers were not taught formal grammar when they were kids. Do all Thai schools have two English teachers for the same batch of students? One to teach grammar and another one to teach speaking & listening?
  17. I thought Covid infection affects the lungs .... correct me if I am wrong. It's more common for boys to have hair loss but not girls in terms of genetics. That's why there are more bald men but no bald women when they grow older.
  18. Thailand gets its migrant workers from Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. They don't get them from Malaysia which has a higher standard of living than Thailand. Anyway, migrant workers do not count as 'tourist' in Thailand.
  19. How many taxi-drives in Thailand actually use meter? Almost none, all refused to use it when I asked in Bangkok. So they have been overcharging customers for a long time now.
  20. If you are teaching English in Thailand, it is recommended to have TEFL. Most native English speakers did not learn formal grammar in western schools, but you are required to teach grammar in Thai schools. Knowing the language and teaching the language are two different skills. You are teaching to second language learners which is different from teaching native English speakers.
  21. There have been many 'near-penniless people' coming to Thailand as visa-runners for the past few decades so this new rule makes it a little more legal. Nothing much has changed.
  22. It's pretty difficult for a foreigner to open a CIMB bank account back then. So now it's only 0.7? Just slightly more than the 0.5% for 12 months fixed deposit.
  23. That's not surprising. For the past few years before the pandemic, the top three countries are 1. China 2. Malaysia 3. Korea or Japan
