Thailand expects more rain as tropical storm Conson moves closer

Heavy rain at 5 am this morning at chiang mai. -
Different people will have different opinion so linking one article doesn't carry any weight. It's the government in power that controls what they seem as fully vaccinated. I am against mixed vaccines but that's the national policy of some governments now.

Thai Govt hopes tourism can be revived as COVID subsides
EricTh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
You can't compare a full vaccination rate of 80% (Singapore) with 10% (Thailand), can you? A full vaccination rate of 80% is already called herd immunity and yet the cases are still rising. -
Thai Govt hopes tourism can be revived as COVID subsides
EricTh replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It's too early to open up. Just look at the rising daily cases in Singapore and Israel where most are already vaccinated, something is wrong. Fully vaccinated figures below. Singapore - 80% Israel - 63% -
Bangkok’s at-risk school students to be jabbed with Pfizer from Sep 21
EricTh replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Thai govt should jab the 50 and above first before the young ones. They are the ones who is at greater risk of dying if infected. -
After submitting your documents and the officer checked that all your documents are complete, just tell them that you are in poor health and would like to collect another day. Ask your neighbour to write a Thai letter just in case the immigration officer can't understand English well enough. I don't see why it can't be done, it's waiting for the officer to sign that takes a long time.

Totally agree. Young people are the ones who design software nowadays, they think that everybody has 10 years exposure to computer like they do when they were kids. Little do they know that most elderly people have never touched a smartphone nor computer in their youth. The menus in the apps can be so confusing and difficult to navigate because the designer didn't design it properly.

I think the link below explains everything https://www.siam-legal.com/thailand-visa/Thailand-Marriage-Visa.php You must obtain a 90-day visa Non-Immigrant O visa at the Thai Embassy or Consulate from your home country or country of residence prior to your application for the Thai marriage visa. The 90-day Non-Immigrant visa may also be obtained from the nearby countries of Thailand. Once the non-immigrant visa is obtained, you must travel to Thailand to activate the initial non-immigrant O visa. You must prepare all needed documents for the conversion of your non-immigrant O visa to marriage visa. The extension will take place on the last 30 days of the 90-day permit to stay. The visa extension application is submitted to the Immigration Office with all the necessary documents for the visa application. The processing period may take about a month before issuance of the one year Thai marriage visa. Additionally, the foreigner on a Visa Exemption stamp or a Tourist Visa can still apply for a Thai marriage visa inside Thailand as long as the foreigner has already met the requirements for the non-immigrant O visa and the one year Thai marriage visa applications. This can be done at the local Thai immigration office in the province where the foreigner and Thai spouse are residing.

Definitely but it has to an average for the past week or two weeks before they change the code color. Not just one day.

600 million baht when the median salary is 15,000 baht? Corruption is quite rampant.... -
Delta variant accounts for 97.6% of new COVID infections in Bangkok

It is a problem if you stay at your gf house without any tenancy agreement as there's no proof that you will stay long-term in Thailand. Banks will only open bank accounts to foreigners who stay long-term in Thailand and not any short-term tourists. Remember, there are millions of tourists coming to Thailand every year , their bank database will be overwhelmed if they open to every tourist. So it's better to open a bank account AFTER you get married to your girlfriend and AFTER you get a non-O visa. Come into the country as visa exempt first, then a few days after marriage date apply for non-O visa. Then once you get a non-O visa, you can apply for a bank account.

@LoVeFuN I don't have a pink ID card and could open many bank accounts. What Bangkok Bank need is a residence certificate. Go get a res. cert from the immigration office. In order to get one, you have to have a long-term tenancy agreement. Not sure about the tourist visa part but I would suggest to get a non-O visa.

I don't know why Thailand is giving the limited vaccines to those younger fellas when Thai people who are 60 and above haven't go theirs yet. It boggles the mind. https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/exclusive-thailands-elderly-lag-behind-covid-vaccination-drive-data-show-2021-08-31/

Delta variant accounts for 97.6% of new COVID infections in Bangkok
EricTh replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
More than 90% are delta variant? Then why are we vaccinated with the vaccines targeting the earlier variants? -
I thought I read that some batches were sourced from foreign countries and not produced in Thailand?

Covid shot- Wall of Chiang Mai site, appointments anyone?
EricTh replied to DrPhibes's topic in Chiang Mai
East Asians usually look younger than Western men of the same age. I met one East Asian at the vaccination center who is 60 years old but still have all black hair and look like 40s. -

Not sure whether there is any more vaccination done at McCormick. I think you have to wait for the next round. Just call them at the phone number below. -
If you have recovered from the real virus, you don't need to be vaccinated with the dead virus (Sinovac) or fake virus (Astrazeneca, Pfizer). It's your body that fights the virus and not the vaccine. It's medical school 101 However, it's good to have a booster shot against the delta variant if you didn't recover from the delta variant but earlier variants. But no current vaccines specifically target delta variant yet.
