  1. Thailand really should think of llegalizing voluntary surrogacy, I mean some western countries do allow it. It will make a lot of parents happy who can't conceive through the normal way.
  2. I think the stock is very limited and reserved for huge companies like Krungsri Bank. Krungsri Bank staff is getting their second shot of Sinopharm this week.
  3. It seems that Sinovac is still the most widely vaccinated vaccine in Thailand unlike some people here who said 'nobody' wants Sinovac. I went to McCormick Hospital today and the majority vaccinated at around 80-90% were westerners, the rest were Asians..
  4. Who are the 'Thai' that you mentioned? Are they the Central Bank of Thailand or just ordinary Thai?
  5. I asked the staff there today and she explained that the booster shot is for the medical staff (nurses, doctors etc) and not for the general public.
  6. There is a long queue right until the carpark today even though most were waiting for their second shot.
  7. I got my vaccination today at McCormick. I asked the staff there, they said you can do a walk-in vaccination if it you are 60 years old and above. If you are about 58-59 years old, I think they are not that strict. If you are very young, then they prefer that you register at their website first. https://www.chiangmaihealth.go.th/wallofcm/index.php Morning session (8 am - noon) For those getting their 1st shot. Afternoon session (after 1 pm) For those getting their 2nd shot and with appointment. Therefore, go for the morning session.
  8. 250 service fee? The total is 1027 baht per jab which is quite expensive.
  9. There is a private hospital called Central ChiangMai Memorial hospital near Shangri La hotel that imports some private vaccines including Sinopharm . You might want to try there. Personally, all these 'which vaccine is better' is just pure propaganda. It's our body immune system that fights the virus and not the vaccine.
  10. Sinopharm is not part of the national vaccination plan so you have to pay for it at private hospitals. My friendly Krungsri bank manager said their bank provides Sinopharm for all bank staff.
  11. What he means is Sinopharm and not Sinovac. These are two different vaccines.
  12. I remembered watching a Thai guy making a video on his university days in USA. He was asking about some strange things he found in the USA. 1. Why do the cars stop at Zebra crossing. 2. Why do the toilet/restrooms have large gaps in their doors where everyone can see you doing your thing. 3. Why do Americans not take off their shoes when entering his house. I can't remember the rest but it was quite funny....I can't seem to find the video anymore.
  13. Then somebody should make a video on 10 different important things in Thailand that are different from western countries. I am sure it takes only 5 minutes to watch before one move to Thailand. Instead most western videos just talk about ladyboys and 'boom-boom'. ☺️
  14. Most people failed basic science course so they can't understand how vaccines work and how clinical trials are conducted. This video explains it in a simple way.
  15. That's new to me. I didn't know he was a policeman but Prayuth is a military man....
  16. The Aussie banged on the vehicle thinking that the Thai driver is wrong, whereas, the Thai driver thinks the Australian is wrong in crossing even when his car wants to cross first. If you cross the road anywhere other than a Zebra crossing in most countries in Asia (not just Thailand), it's called jaywalking and extremely dangerous because there might be speeding vehicles. If you cross at a Zebra crossing, it is safer but you must cross ONLY IF there is no incoming traffic. There are Zebra crossing with traffic lights in Thailand where cars must stop. If the Zebra crossing has no traffic lights , the cars will slow down but they don't need to stop. There is a Zebra crossing in front of Kad Suan Kaew. Just observe the Thai people there, they only cross when there are no incoming cars.
  17. Pantip Plaza is going to be resurrected next year when the tourists start coming back. Don't worry, they are not dead yet.....
  18. What the hell! These people are not qualified to become police officers. I pity the guy who was suffocated to death.
  19. It's the same reaction as when you know someone's infected. It's all fear propaganda played by the media when only a small percentage dies. The truth is that young people have a high chance of recovering from Covid. Those 1% who died are usually those over 60 years old and/or with serious chronic illness. Even after full vaccination, we can still be infected but with milder symptoms.
  20. It's too early to open next month. The daily new cases are still high and vaccination percentage is still low at around 8 % fully vaccinated. Thailand didn't learn its lessons in the third and fourth waves.
  21. @thaiflyer1 There are two options. You should select Thai baht option if it is in normal Thai account. Unless your Thai bank account is in foreign currency, then you choose the other option of Sterling. We can open foreign currency account in Thailand.
  22. What is the status of your vaccination? Did you manage to make an appointment?
