    I am in the same situation as you because my Krungsri account did not get tax deducted either. I told people in this forum in the past that SCB told me that they will NOT deduct any tax (when I first opened the account) and there's no way to link my tax ID to my SCB online account. Imagine the shock that I got when my account was tax deducted. It seems that SCB staff don't even know what is going on.

    I'm surprised to hear that if the Thai spouse died, then one has to leave Thailand. Would it not be better to have a Thai child instead?

    Thailand has the largest overseas Chinese in the world and many of them hold powerful political and economic positions. In fact, the deputy PM and the health minister are both ethnic Chinese. If they wanted to take side, it will be on China's side; that's the opinions of most of the Thai Chinese that I've met.

    June 25 is already over. Did you check whether they deducted your interest?

    I have seen many Thai drivers running the red lights just when the lights go from yellow to red. I've also seen this behaviour in some westerners driving on Thai roads doing the same. So it's just not only Thai people.

    On another topic, I had my backpack fixed by a man with a van by the roadside near YMCA (santitham), his workmanship was terrible and attitude was bad. I am also hoping the lady can sew my backpack as well.

    You cannot expect the same behavior in western countries. Cars not stopping at zebra crossing is the norm in Asian countries if you have been to other Asian countries except Japan. Most Japanese do not drive anyway. Always look for no-cars coming before crossing. The roads in America is not as congested as in Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam.

    Can we let the Thai wife/friend to buy the tickets to avoid farang fees.

    Most of these Thai girls are asking too much. If they are wealthy and well hung, there will be tons of white girls chasing after them.

    @Kenny202 Those are tell tale signs that your girl is more interested in your money than you. The moment you are broke, there's a high chance she will leave you. That's why I prefer to look for someone who likes me rather than my money.

    Why must it be cash? Isn't money in a Thai bank not money?

    Ask them not to put MSG into your food, it's bad for the health anyway.

    I have discarded by latest boarding pass so it's not sensible. Nobody told us we have to keep our boarding pass to renew.

    I usually buy a small plant and it cost me 80 baht so 150 baht is not expensive at all. Golden shower tree looks nicer than the Indian cork tree, but does it emit a strong fragrance? Which of these three emits a nicer smell? Magnolia champaka, golden shower , Indian cork

    I think they will request show-of-funds for those who are border runners. For those one time visitors, I don't think they will.

    So the banks only increase borrower cost but not depositor's interest rate?

    The central bank of Thailand has announced an increase recently but I just checked the normal banks interest rate for deposits and they remain unchanged. What happened?

    I thought they have already removed the TM6 requirement? I did not have to fill up one when I arrived a few days back.

    It can be a bank statement if the money is in a Thai bank and the balance updated on the application date showing at least 20,000 baht
