  1. Been here for 22 years. I think the Future Forward party is the only one that has real policies worth its salt. It doesn't mean that they will fare better than other anti-establishment parties, but I think when it kicks off, this one will go further this time. It is no longer paid for grannies that are turning up to protest, it is the ever growing middle class that have had enough of the lies, theft and manipulation of the law. Actually, there is no real law.

  2. How do they reach a figure of 147,000 passengers a day?

That would require 147 trains to carry 1,000 passengers every day.  That's roughly 6 trains per hour if it runs 24 hours a day, or one train every 10 minutes. This is not the bullet train between Tokyo and Osaka. This is a train from Bangkok to Pattaya/Utapao/Rayong.

It is more likely you will get passenger numbers like this between Don Muang, Bangkok and Suvarnibhumi if almost every domestic and international passenger used the train every time they went to or from the airport, which they won't.

Is it right that ex Bolton boss Phil Parkinson is nailed on for this? Opinion about him from Bolton fans is divided. Some give him credit for coping with dignity in very trying circumstances, others hated a negative "hoofball" style of play and couldn't see the back of him quick enough. Has previous for getting teams promoted from League 1, not so good in the Championship though.

He is the odds-on favourite with the bookies, but not a popular choice with Sunderland fans. Personally, I would rather have the ex-Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel.

A Nigel Pearson-Kevin Phillips double act has been touted, but I think Pearson will be overlooked. Quite like Gareth Ainsworth for his efforts to climb the league with Wycombe, but not overly keen on their style of football. Paul Cook at Wigan would be an OK choice, but I think that Wigan have already ruled that option out.

  4. Club Statement : Jack Ross Leaves SAFC

    OCTOBER 8, 2019 BY RTGADMIN

Sunderland AFC announced this afternoon that it had terminated the contract of manager Jack Ross.

SAFC chairman Stewart Donald said: “This is a decision that has been made with a heavy heart. When we arrived at the club 18 months ago, we appointed Jack because we felt that he was the right man to take Sunderland forward over a number of years.

“Jack has worked extremely hard, and has helped us achieve stability at the club, and I sincerely thank him for his efforts. I hope and believe that he will go on to have a successful career in management.”

Assistant manager James Fowler has been placed in temporary charge of first team affairs and will oversee this evening’s home game against Grimsby Town in the leasing.com Trophy. The process to appoint a new Sunderland manager will commence tomorrow.

So this is really the "It's NOT happening! Ha'way the lads!" thread.

It wasn't. Then it was. Then it wasn't again. Then it was again. Then it wasn't yet again. But not it seems that it is. Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!

SUNDERLAND'S super-rich American bidders are pulling out of takeover talks over the valuation of the club.

The League One sleeping giants have been told the shock news after MSD Partners spent over a month trying to finalise a deal.

Black Cats owner Stewart Donald is hoping to sell the club for a good price

The group, led by Glenn Fuhrman and backed by Dell computer cash, were unhappy with the buy-out plan after due diligence.

Owner Stewart Donald hoped to sell for a good price and keep a major say in the Black Cats.

But the Americans have too many questions unanswered.

The parties discussed initial figures over a multi-million sale before Fuhrman flew in to push on with the deal a few weeks ago.

Those numbers changed after queries were raised by the American's legal team during a lengthy investigation.

The Americans felt  Sunderland was over-valued and also doubted whether they had as many assets on the academy side as they were led to believe.

Now Donald and his men are on the look-out for other investors.

  6. We have heard stupid ideas like this before. I know that awarding the FIFA World Cup to Qatar was equally stupid, but ASEAN does not have the deep pockets to pay for a World Cup. Add to that the fact that none of the ASEAN countries are anywhere near good enough to qualify for a World Cup tournament, and several of the countries are more corrupt than FIFA itself.

It's a complete non-starter, and it's just the usual waffle that comes out of Thai ministries to try and justify their positions of importance, demands for budgets and claims for expenses.

I can't see any reason why the Bkk red buses can't be replaced with electric driven buses. This would surely reduce pollution as well as noise.

Because that costs money. The people who want to pocket the tax money that can be saved by not spending it on modern buses would never dream of using a bus in their life anyway. A more arrogant, ignorant group of people are hard to find in this world, but they do exist in some other countries too, typically banana republics.
