As far as I know the foreign father would not be allowed to take the children out of Thailand without written approval from the mother of the children. That alone should stop all possible bad scenarios.
No always the case. I traveled with my Thai daughter to Europe several times without her mother... She was 14, 16 and 17... No single question was asked by immigration or airline staff.

Did you consider GoogleFi? It costs $20 per month for basic plan... I have a spare starting kit listed on Baht&Sold...
I set my up here in Thailand and it work great... With GoogleFi you will have one US based number in numerous foreign countries. Look it up online for more details.

I changed my US address to Thai address with USAA about 14 years ago... Only once, during that time, they contacted me asking if my Thai address is still valid... Never had any issues.

I have Scrambler62 for over 3 years now... Great bike and handles very well. I put over 22000km on it without any issues. My schedule maintenance is with Ducati Buriram and their service is good but sometimes it takes a few days to get an appointment. You can't just show up there and expect to be serviced the same day...

My wife asked me for 100 thousand bht, 2 months ago, someone in her village is building a house and needed extra money for 1 or 2 months until his brother(who works in Korea) could pay the debt. The interest is 5% per month. So far my wife has received 10 thousand bht for 2 months interest, and yesterday 20 thousand was paid off the debt. It seems pretty normal in her village, I have no involvement in it, and she gives me half of all profit.

No involvement????? Hahaha....

Please let me know how this extension work out for you... I'm in exactly the same situation, single father of Thai child and I also use Kapchoeng for my extension. My current extension runs out on 25 June 2019.

They might be using ballast water in order to maintain desired "trim". Trim is the difference between forward and after draft of the ship. Having desired trim will increase ship's steerage while going up river... In other words, having desired trim, will make ship more maneuverable in the water...

Apply for access to Social Security Account then print your statement.... The statement will show all the years you contributed to SS.... I used this to prove my physical presence for daughter's birth certificate in 2008...

Yes, I found it useful... While waiting for my new passport to arrive from my embassy, I lost my Thai driver's license for a car. When I went to driver license office to inquire about replacement they insisted on seeing my passport. I could not comply with this request because I mailed my passport to my embassy as a part of the renewal process. Instead I produced my Thai motorcycle license which was rejected right away... I was about to leave when I remembered having my pink ID card. My pink ID card was accepted on the spot and I was issued with new Thai Driving License.

I find Google Maps are more reliable than Garmin GPS with Thailand maps on it.

Years ago I gave my ex wife a credit card with understanding that is should only be used for emergencies... After several months I noticed several small charges from Lazada on my cc bill. After asking my ex if she used the card for any purchases, her answer was "Yes, I used it. What is the point of having a credit card if I don't use it". I guess the "emergency" thing didn't quite register with her....

Thank You everyone for your input. I received my re-entry permit yesterday in Kapchoeng... All completed in about 35 min.

My last Non-O visa expired on April 8 this year but my last 90 day stamp will allow me to stay here till June 25... I just found out that I have to go to Singapore for two days before the end of this month (May 2018) and I was wondering if I can still use Reentry Permit to return to Thailand. The reason that I want to keep the 90 day entry in tact is because I was planning to apply for one year extension based on being 50 years old.

OP is right. It is almost impossible to get a police clearance letter if you can't prove that you've been living in local area for some specified amount of time recently... I tried to get it a few years ago in Los Angeles area and one of the requirements was to show utility bills in my name for at least one year... You can request an FBI clearance letter or whatever it is called but it takes a while to get it.

I'm happy to inform you that I finally received my registration book... It showed up in the mail Tuesday, 2 Nov. I did not get the metal plate and I'm not sure if it is coming later or I have to go to the Registration Office to get it... I'd like to say thank you to Kannikar from Ducati who definitely got the the whole thing moving.
-
Just to keep you all up to date, I received encouraging email from Kannikar who is affiliated with Ducati Thailand... According to him there is one more step to complete before I can get my registration papers. Unfortunately, I'm out of the country at this time and not much can be done until I get back to Thailand.

I live in Surin... There is a Ducati in Buriram but I did not buy directly from them because they said it would take over a month to get that particular model... By buying in BKK I had it delivered, free of charge, within 4 days. I never got a red license plate either. About 4 years ago I bought Kawasaki in Korat and they registered it in there. I still have the bike with original license plate and never had a problem with renewing registration and paying road tax... I was told by Ducati that I can't start the registration process by myself and they have to do it. I really like to get my registration papers soon so I can ride to other parts of the country.

"Similar response" to what I've been getting from Ducati.

I bought a Ducati Scrambler in early June in BKK and the price included registration and license plate fee. Since I live in different province I was asked whether I want a BKK license plate or my local province's plate. Initially I opted for BKK but a few days later I got a call from Ducati informing me that according to a new regulation I have to have a plate from the province where I reside (this was also going to cost me 2000 Baht more). After paying additional money Ducati assured me that they will take care of everything and I should have my registration in a couple of months... Well, It has been four and half months and I'm still waiting for the paperwork... Each time I called Ducati I was told that everything is on track and I should be getting my paperwork shortly. Last week, while at local Ducati dealership, I spoke to another foreigner who told me that he has been waiting for about a year for his registration papers and gets similar response from Ducati people... I remember reading about Vespa dealer and his recent trouble with Thai tax authority and I hope that Ducati Thailand is on solid legal footing in this country. Does anyone know an "average" waiting time for registration paperwork on Big Bikes?
