Similarly, people say locals getting discount at national parks is racist, when it obviously not.
It's not a discount. It's non-Thais, many holding work permits and paying tax, being hugely overcharged. Who then go on to boycott national parks in Thailand.
I'm English. If I visit the Tower of London, I pay the same as Thai visitors. Otherwise it'd be discrimination. And illegal.

Tell me how white people suffer disadvantage from racism. I'm not interested in hurt feelings from name calling, I'm interested in real consequences at a systemic level.
Pay more at National parks, can't buy land, overcharged at hospitals...

"Many white people, in particular, need to take a long hard look at themselves for speaking from a privileged position in denying racism exists."
Er...which white people deny racism exists?
And only white people can be racist, it appears?
The OP's post is some of the biggest codswallop I've read recently.
Just pure, divisive, hand-wringing, race-baiting, white guilt-trip BS.

Only? Never heard this urban legend. Probably only in your head.
But there have been many instances of Thais ganging up on westerners.

Seems to be some confusion over the correct pronoun use - "her" in the article title, "he" and "his" in the body.
I know we usually don't go after grammar, but words are their bread and butter. They should know better.
'He' and 'his; is correct usage in this case.

Just a matter of time before the far-left BDS lot came along to stink up the thread.

The woman told police that after three rounds of drinks, the house owner, Mr Tung, attacked her and forced her into a bedroom where she was raped two times by him.
Her police statement said the two other men in the house then followed him into the bedroom, one at a time, and raped her after Mr Tung was finished.
Right, that you call this a grey area says a lot about you.
FORCED HER into a bedroom and later two other men then did the same after the fist was done. Not sure what is rape in your mind. But in my mind this is 100% rape.
Allegedly.

I live outside Huahin and haven't missed the tourists at all. That said, there are lots of empty buildings and it's hard on the locals.
Can't please everyone I guess.
Poor Thais are suffering but you're all right Jack.
Nice!

Nice film reminded me of the place, but it certainly looks better with all those tatty bars closed, bars being the polite word for them. Burger King gone is even better.
I liked the bars and BK.

Both hotels owned run by same group of Scandahooligans as I called them.
Jurgan was the main man and Stefan ran Stable lodge for years.
Really good folk to know, Gentlemen.
john
I remember one of them being a good looking blond bloke and the other a big dark bearded type.
Is Stable Lodge still owned by them?

Bourbon Street did a good christmas lunch, stayed there on one occasion, no problems.
"Not to mention Purple Flying Machine and Kangaroo Bar !!! Lorettas on Soi Cowboy"
Lorretta first bar in BKK I went into, recommended by the Scandahooligans who owned Mermaids Rest. As for the Kangaroo well I'll leave that to others.
Happy Days.
john
Mermaids Rest That's where I stayed when I first came to Bangkok in 87. Great place and restaurant.
They opened Stable Lodge on the same soi just before closing Mermaids.
