  1. Hi all

    Am I reading this right?

I have a fairly recent multi non O issued from London valid until next October.I have to leave the country every 90 days. If I am divorced at the Amphur my lovely wife tells me I have to leave Thailand as my visa is cancelled with our marriage. She has been holding this over me for a while now.

If I'm reading this thread right my visa is indeed not cancelled and is still valid until next October or March 2017 with an extension?

    Please can anybody clarify this?

    Cheers, all the best.

  2. Oh Sh**!

I have just started to look for parking here for 3 days next month. I usually fly from Suvarnabhumi to Cambodia but Bangkok Airways wanted a ridiculous price this time so Air Asia it is.

If anybody has any further info please comment. If I find out anything I will update.

I really don't fancy going back to the nightmare taxi mafia and the endless queues at DMK.......

  3. I think most of us from the mess of the UK agree that it's finished. I gave UK immigration thousands for my Thai wife's visas, over the years, only for her to be reduced to tears by Indians and Eastern Europeans every time she entered UK without me. I had built a very good business but didn't to spend any more of my life in that hole supporting the weightless economy. I would describe Great Britain, as a new fight everyday. Sure it's not perfect here in Thailand but we are both smiling and have a much improved standard of living. We are not on the run and have burned no bridges.....if UK ever looks like a better option we will return.....Can't see that ever happening though!

    good luck everyone....

  4. Hi everyone, thank you for all the valuable advice!

My 1 years non O on marriage will expire in mid November. My original plan was to go to Laos for a few days over Christmas, after my last visa run entry early October, but now I'm thinking that it may be a bad idea at that time of year. My plan B is to renew in October, again in Laos. I will make sure the funds are seasoned for a couple months prior.

Can I gain a new multi entry non O a month before my old one expires?

How long would I need in Savannakhet for a multi entry O?

    Cheers

    All the best :)

  5. Sorry if this is in the wrong section....

My possessions from the UK are finally arriving after a nightmare with a well known removals company ( useless *******). We are now being told by the local agent there is duty and tax to pay (her commission obviously).

They wanted my wife's passport and now mine...(800 baht for motorcycle collection in BKK).. I'm on a non O visa through marriage. There is only half a container of small personal items/ pictures, one chest of draws, a surfboard/ wakeboard, 2 bicycles, a printer, a surround system and a cctv system, and my wife's clothes from UK (she was only on tourist visas so 6 months at a time)

I was under the impression that we were allowed one shipment within 6 months of arrival duty free of 'used' items... Which these all are. There is only one of each except the bicycles.

Can anybody advise as my 'current' wife has the IQ of a 3 year old when somebody tells her it's official revenue/ business and she should comply....please help before we visit the local Amphur again .. Lol!

    Thank you?

  6. Hi Mario. We live in outer Bangkok and had a letter from our landlord. I was told that I could not have a residency letter if I have to leave the country every 90 days. Does anybody know if we can go to our local office in Samut Prakorn or does it need to be the main immigration?

I would have happily paid 500 baht for an 'express' service rather than half a day and 3000 bht in the British embassy.

  7. I went to Bangkok immigration and waited f***** ing ages with my number. I was then refused a residency certificate as I am on a non-o multi entry (spouse visa). I was told that I had to have a reporting stamp and cannot have a residency cert. on a spouse visa whereby I have to leave the country every 90 days.... Is this correct? I then had to pay theBritish Embasy just over 3k for a Thai person to vouch that I was English....

  8. Just an update here... I took 'DrDaves's' advice and transferred from my UK to BKK bank account which took about 3 days. I elected for the money to be exchanged at point of entry to my Thai bank account as the rates are much better.

I presented the dealer with a bankers draft which the bank didn't charge me for.

All pretty easy in the end.

  9. Thank you everybody for help this forum. I apologise if I'm being daft but can anybody help?

I reside in Bangkok, Thailand on a multi entry non o from London for 1 year due to marriage. I'm stamped in until early March which will be my 90 days. I have a flight booked to Cambodia late February for a few days to re boot my non o for another 90 days.

Do I need a re entry permit from the Thai immigration office in Bangkok (what a nightmare place.... Take a number and wait!) or can I simply fly out and re enter and be given another 90 days on my 1 year non o?

    Thank you

    All the best!
