Would you also be astounded to learn U.K. cases of infection, deaths and hospitalisation  are spiking upwards again…partygate just keeps on giving.

Not that I’m against lifting restrictions. Vaccination levels are such in the U.K. that it was the right way to go. But it was clearly rushed through on political grounds rather than medical ones.

I will still mask up when I’m there mind but that’s just pure contrariness on my part.

Yes, the UK's Covid figures are rising, but this was expected with all restrictions lifted,,

But What about Thailands Covid spike , and they haven't lifted any restrictions...

    Pretty pointless observation.

Say there is a 1% death rate for WITH covid.

If there are more cases, it is obvious the absolute number of deaths will go up.  It is still the same ratio of case/death, so who cares.

" 95% of new fatalities were vulnerable and elderly people, especially bed-ridden people who contracted the disease from carers. "

Is this really new to anyone?

Woah you are sounding a little fascist and totalitarian there buddy boyo.  Maybe a lot of those people decided on their own free will they didn't want the vaccine?  If they end up dying solely due to not receiving injections for covid by choice, they accepted the risk.

    Fair comment.... (Too Much Time

serious lack of detail again ............WHERE THEY VACCINATED and if so with what ???????

That is a big black hole of all data or lack of in Thailand - tell the truth

The report says that only 30% of the elderly have been vaccinated,, but intended to vaccinated at least 70% ...

So the question is why haven't the Government vaccinated the population,  and what is the total % of vaccinated people in Thailand,   the Government did say they would have over 70% of the population vaccinated by Xmas 2021, somehow I don't think that happened......

Looks like Thailand arrivals are falling again. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything current. I think if tourist arrivals had gone up we would have read hooray news from the TAT. The current "simplifications": 5 day self-test and insurance 20K don't bring much life into the arrival numbers. Best 1% was removed from 100% complicated paperwork hurdles. The generals just don't have what it takes to run the country.

Spot on about tourist numbers, yes the number of arrivals must be very low now high season has ended, that's why they don't mention it,, also they don't mention haw many vaccine shots there giving these days, no doubt also low numbers...

What's the big deal as just about every country in Asia charges a foreigner to enter their country. Only difference is Thailand calls a entry fee where most call it visa on arrival just like Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam as last time I checked it was $30 USD + to enter those countries.

Yes,, but don't forget they already charge tourists 700B which is included in your flight ticket,, and if you think that it will stay at 300B, think again...
