  1. Do you mean seafood restaurants or specifically fish?

Anyway, the seafood restaurants at the very end of Jomtien beach road are good and popular with Bangkok Thais.

Generally you'll want to avoid places in Central touristic Pattaya.

Although, I agree with your comment on avoiding seafood in Pattaya.

I will disagree with the Jomtien comment.

Naklua beats Jomtien hands down for seafood restaurants at the moment.

  2. Last visit to Mom Aroi Naklua I paid 300baht for 1kg of what they call lobster but in Oz they're called Morton bay bugs.

But equally as delicious and plenty of and good size tails.

Depending on the restaurant, also known as Rock Lobsters or Squat Lobsters.

  3. Hello, where was the Porn Naem Nuang ? I know only a Vietnamese restaurant on 2rd road and it is still open.

Speaking of 3rd Road, I was sad to see that 'Porn Naem Nuang' had closed their doors.

Strange thing is, I came past last night and it looked like it was open, albeit with no customers.
But every other time, it has looked like this.

  4. The Nueng Ghin Daem just moved a few hundred meters North on 3rd Rd., last year. It was a food stand, located opposite of Mooks before.

In my opinion, it's more Thai than Chinese food, even if the sign mentions 'Chinese'.

However, I like the food there. The prices almost doubled at the new location, but it's still not expensive at all.

Thanks Sir, just back in town, and driving along 3rd road yesterday, I could have sworn I had never seen it before.

  5. Jingthing

I am confused with all the Chinese Restaurants that have opened and closed on 3rd road (and surrounding area).

Is the one on the right hand side of 3rd road, if travelling north, and not far from the North Road junction, new ?

Only a Thai sign that looked like it said Neung ?

  6. Sue's Place, Pattayaland.

There is a bar with a girls name has decent quantity, quality for the not-cheap price (but good size). Between Beach and 2nd. Same soi as Obsession. One soi north of Pattay Tai (sorry brain can not bring up number).

Yes it's a Marine bar and used to be called the Blue Parrot. Soi 2 I think.

Nope, its called Sue's Place, and has been for a long long time.

  7. Hi

Not a review but merely some " news" in case of interest to anyone and probably not worth a separate thread

Dominos ( Pizza) have been very busy in getting a new branch ready in naklua, opening would be any day now by the looks of things.

If coming from the Dolphin Circle it is on the left hand side, about a 5- 7 minute walk or 1 minute on a bahtbus.

Well signed, just before soi 18/Wong Amat.

A lot of competition for pizza business in Pattaya generally but guess they have done their homework and will do OK

As of yesterday evening, not open but very nearly so, indoor eating area evident, telephone number for delivery already displayed.

I might try it although prefer to give independent restaurants my custom.

    More choice always welcome though.

You could always try the branch on 3rd road.

  8. Pattaya Beer Garden is the best place for me.

Do they make reservations for N.Y.?

Otherwise I would be very pessimistic about getting there and finding a seat.

    No, no reservations allowed.

Getting a table around 7pm has never been a problem in the past.

Doors often close around 10pm, and then its one in, one out.
