If you prefer sandals try a pair of Ecco walking sandals. I've had bilateral knee replacements and my balance is stuffed. The Ecco sandals are very good for my confidence. They are pricey but worth it for the support and grip of the sole in the wet or sand. Good luck.

There's a white bus every 30-60mins to Krabi town from airport 100bt per person. Takes 30 mins. Goes up to Chao Fa road near 7/11. They pick up from your hotel 100 baht by asking reception or walking up to hotel near 7/11 in Chao Fa road. Easy and cheap. There's another bus to Ao Nang for 150 baht. Buy all tickets at counter to right side coming out of arrivals.

I tell folks not to bother going to Phuket. People won't listen and they go and waste their money, have a horrible holiday and then complain. It's a dump and a tourist let-down with shoddy, cr@ppy goods, scams and overpriced taxis and transport. It has nothing going for it at all or am I missing something? I feel very sorry for the Airport bus operator. Must be so hard to get a great idea like that up and running with all the interference from taxi and tuk tuk owners and drivers. I wish I understood why Thais allow such corruption and blatant cr*pola to ruin their towns, beaches and visitors holidays. Maybe one day people will wake up and see Phuket for what it is. A blowsy old floozie!
