A few days ago on a visit to Chiang Mai Purchased 3 cases of Lao Beer.
When I requested large bottles the Lao Beer dealer said it was not legal/allowed to sell large bottles in Thailand. Only the small bottles were allowed.
Would anyone have an idea of why this is so? Just curious.

Would anyone know where to find/purchase Beer Lao in the Phayao/Chiang Rai area?
Have looked around but no luck. Any tips appreciated.

Have used the search function on this forum "Accommodations Mai Sai" with on luck.
Can anyone recommend a place they have stayed in Mai Sai recently?
Rather than a resort, would be interested in quaint/interesting guesthouses.
Perhaps with a website and/or telephone number.
However, any information appreciated.

Did a search but could not find answer.
In Viewing Profile-Communicate-- What is the difference between:
Send a Personal Message and Send an Email ?
Which is the recommended way to send a message to a TV member, without posting on the Forum?
Any info appreciated. Thanks.

Just came onto this post #56 from Lopburi3. Questions.
What difference would it make to a US Government DD or IDD, if it is deposited to a US or Thai Bank?
I have had a government pension DD to a US bank which is redeposited to a Thai bank monthly for many years.
There is no yearly "Report of Existence" required from either the US government or US bank.
I would think my GF or wife could safely use these funds for many years after my death. Naturally with a little help from the local influencial folks, so that my death is not reported to the embassy.
These funds are being deposited to a Thai Joint Savings Account, with an ATM card.
Based on this experience, do not understand why Bangkok Bank will not issue an ATM card on a DD or IDD.
As a matter of curiosity, does the Social Security go to the NY branch or directly to the Bangkok Bank in Bangkok?

Suggestions on monthly fund transfer from a SCB partner/ correspondent bank in USA to the SCB savings/checking account in Thailand.
Has anyone done this recently? If so, which bank did you use?
Today received an email reply from SCB, which said they no longer have a branch in the USA, even thou the Los Angeles Thai Embassy still lists one.
Wish to Direct Deposit funds monthly to a USA bank for EFT(SWIFT) to a SCB account.
Advice/experience appreciated.
