Seems everyday you hear of more dastardly deeds in Phuket. The next one always seems to be worse than the last. Prosecution of locals seems almost non-existent or they are let go on bond which probably ensures that the suspect will not be available for prosecution. If I am incorrect of my assessment please set me straight. I was actually thinking about moving to Phuket, but it seems like not a very safe place. Furthermore I'm not a guy who would take too kindly to some local shoving a gun in my face. Nor am I man who runs away from fight. So best just to avoid a situation like this.

I love the commentary to stories like this. I have to agree with the guy that says, this is what happens when you have so much censorship of the internet. As for the comments, keep them coming. I love a good laugh.

Another reason to favor Ladyboy companions, one comes out of a scrape with 7 Thai fellas with minor injuries and ones valuables intact I'm sure if he'd been with a ladygirl, they both would have been hosed.

The World's media needs to become a lot more involved before the Thai Government will take any notice. Real pressure to do things will only come from the Thai people themselves though and individually they don't care as long as it doesn't affect them or their family. I love this country, but it ceases to amaze the level of corruption that exists at every level of existence here. How does the government actually think that by announcing their plans to spearhead an effort to stop this and give all the information as to when it will begin will actually help in their efforts? I have no doubt that the government is involved in nearly all facets of the corruption and mafia activity going on Phuket. It's really a crying shame because Phuket is a truly beautiful place to visit and to live.
