  1. Hello all,

I know this has come up before, but I’ll ask again.

I’ll make a last 90 day run to Mai Sai come this September, then I’ll go back to Malaysia early December to renew my Non B Multi-Entry visa. However, my work permit will have only 5 months’ validity.

Last year I remember seeing on the “Visa Requirements” page of the Thai Consulate-Penang web site that an original work permit with a 6 months’ validity had to be produced. Now it just says…

For multiple entries: [Original work permit must be produce with the application]

No mention of any time validity on the work permit.

So should I be concerned? Should I just go to Penang in September? Or maybe try to renew my work permit before December even though it’s valid until May.

Also to note, I’ve been getting 2 years on my work permit since 2010, and I’ve had my multi-entry for 11 years.

    Any suggestions/recommendations?

    Thanks,

    Haiku

  2. heading down monday , have heard nothing from anyone, an banana gh ( whom i contacted last week) said only that you need go to the consolute on ur own, no longer can a travel agent take it for you.

    Need 9 months on wp

Great Weary, perhaps you could send an update as soon as you know. I need to exit Thailand by the 6th July so I still have a little time. I still got 10 months validity on my work permit.

    Thanks

  3. I have been told that Penang has just recently stopped issuing 1 year non-b and will only give 3 month single entry. I have asked these people if they had all the correct paper work, passport/ work permit are valid ect, and of course they said yes but they could be lying not to look like a fool, I have also heard at the same time others received 1 year multi entry no problems. I would like to know if anyone with in the past 2 weeks has had any issues being denied a 1 year multi entry other than not having proper documents or documents without the proper length of validity.

    Thanks

Wow, that would be a drag as I’m getting ready to go to Penang next week for the 1 year multi entry. Yes, anybody out there have any new reliable info on whether they still issue the 1 year multi entry. I do have all proper paperwork, work permit and so on and got my 1 year there about 5 years ago. So any new info would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Hopefully it won't interfere with the international rugby.

No, the squashed ball stuff will be screened at a time of day when most of us are still awake coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24>

    The footie will be in the middle of the night coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24>coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24>coffee1.gif.pagespeed.ce.Ymlsr09gMJ.gif alt=coffee1.gif width=32 height=24>

What about replays? Will they repeat matches latter in the day?

  5. Hello All,

Can any Restaurateurs out there recommend some company or person that will craft a good restaurant/bar menu? We’ve been doing our own for years but now looking for something a little more professional. Nothing too fancy or with pictures, just nicer. Also looking to have said menu translated to Chinese.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Haiku

  6. Hi All

I am a US Citizen living and working in Thailand for the last 7 years. I may be back in the States next month visiting family in San Diego. I have in the past obtained a one year NonImmigrant Multiple Entry business Visa from the in Consulate in Houston via mail while in San Diego. I recently went to Kuala Lumpur but was only granted a three month business Visa, which I fully expected. I have all proper corporation paperwork, work permit and authorized letters. Dose anybody know if Houston is still issuing the one year Multiple Entry business Visa via mail?

    Thanks

  7. Hello All,

Anybody know where I can get sauna oils or sauna salts here in Chiang Mai? I’m just now discovering the benefits of using the sauna we have at our condo. Also, any suggestions on which oil or herb are suitable for saunas? I see oils and oil paraphernalia around in the malls; just not sure which oil would be beneficial in saunas.

    Thanks

  8. There is one company in Hang Dong that just opened this year. Run by a Brit. I just threw away the number a few days ago so I dug through my trash bin and found it. The number is 08-01219891. He said they go for 1,000 Baht a month.

    Hope you find something.

We called this person a few days ago looking for storage, but he has closed down. Not enough business, he says.

Still looking. Probably have to rent a small room.

  9. Thanks All,

We may do the long trip from Koh Tao to Surat Thani and just stay there 1 night.

Our how bout this scenario; catch the ferry from Koh Tao to Chumphon, then do the 3.5 hour bus down to Surat Thani. Is that feasible? Do the buses go often? We’re trying to stay 1 extra day at the beach.

  10. Hello all,

We’ll be visiting Koh Tao in June. We had a question about the ferry from Koh Tao to Surat Thani. It would appear that the latest ferry arriving in Surat Thani from Koh Tao is at 16:30, in which case we would miss our 15:30 flight.

    Are there other alternatives?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Haiku

  11. Hello All,

We will be visiting Ubon Ratchathani in June and was looking for hotel recommendations in town. It’s my first time there. We looked at the Sri Isan Hotel and that looks nice, but we’d like a pool. We also look at the Sunee Grand and that’s nice too, but perhaps too nice. We really don’t need all that swanky stuff. Our price choice ends around 1700 baht per night.

Also, we’ll be renting a car and visiting family in Buntharik. How long is the drive there from Ubon Ratchathani? Also, any nice hotel/resorts down that way?

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Haiku

  12. Hi Folks,

Thanks for the recommendation. I called Dr. Witoon's clinic today and he will call me back to set up an appointment for consultation.

I also had a consultation with a Dr. Somboon Chaisrisawadisuk at Ram hospital. He also seams very capable. Anybody recive blepharoplasty surgery from him?

    Thanks,

    Haiku

  13. Hello All,

Has anyone out there ever have a Blepharoplasty procedure here in Chiang Mai? I would appreciate any feedback on Doctors or Hospitals that would perform an upper and lower Blepharoplasty. I know I could go to Bumrungrad and Yanhee in Bangkok but I live here and it would be nice to convalescence at home rather than in some hotel.

Anyway, any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

    Haiku
