Everywhere I look in Pattaya Thailand prices increase to compensate falling revenues. This seems to work in the short term. One thing is for sure I will never buy an overpriced ticket to fly with Thai Airlines. So when will Thailand's bubble of spiralling price increases finally burst. If the airlines go bust it's serves them right for embarking on a greed strategy where there is competition.

Am am now lucky to be the partner of prettygirl. I met a Filipino in 2005 and she appeared to be very disinterested in my financial situation. I was duped. Ended up a big unhappy looser. You pass a lot of control to your partner when she becomes your wife. She may even change her personality dramatically once you are trapped. I escaped and feel very lucky to have a new chance with a person I heave learnt to trust over a number of years.

My partner and I have been studying Thai these past 6 months. Most of our time has focused on reading. Because of that we can read Thai "slowly" and we know the tone to use. Just recently we are being pushed to increase our vocabulary and understanding of grammar.
It's a slow process. Guess we should require at least 2 years of study and focused work to emerge with any confidence.
It's about commitment really and it's not that easy.
My partner started to speak English in 2006 and is now ahead of me in Thai!!!

Open a gov police hot-line number to allow reporting of reckless driving or speeding taxi, bus, van driver. Enforce compliance of the traffic laws with real threats of punishment.

I see, suddenly I awake in the taxi, my money and bags are gone along with the driver. At least he left me the taxi to drive home in

In fact the UK is currently introducing entry fees on a trial basis with a few countries most known for travellers as "medical tourists" using the NHS (national health service). Later the UK gov hope to make the charges standard for all regardless of any other insurances. Am thinking the scheme could backfire! Any thoughts?

We invited my 18 year old daughter to a holiday from the Philippines to Thailand. She travelled alone from Manila. We took great care to provide letters of invitation and support, copy of my passport, copy of Philippine University semester payment receipt. I attend Thai classes with an ED VISA and have a Filipina friend who does the same and she lives with her German boy friend, so if you play fair with the ED visa that cost around B25000 she can have 15 months in Thailand with 90 day visits to the local immigration office for each 90 day extension costing B1900. It's fun and interesting to learn Thai. It's possible to extend for a number of years. Cannot remember the exact regulation.

Interesting figure. That is just about our expenses for a year as a settled couple.
For that we get a 2bed house with shared pool. Motor cycle hire and good home cooking.
Not a lot of entertainment or travel.
So if you are content with a quiet life you can slide by. If you need a car and some night life you need a lot more.
When we arrived in Pattaya £300/month seemed like a good budget amount but reality soon sorted us out as many food items are similar in prices to the UK .Shop with care to keep costs under control. Since arriving in March 2012 we have noticed substantial food price increases. Thankfully the GBP is picking up again and that is a big help.

How would you feel about living in England or America if you could not speak or read English. How would you feel if you could communicate in Thai. Another world would reveal itself and a great deal of personal satisfaction would result. Knowledge opens doors.

My partner and I work hard to study Thai on our ED visas in Pattaya with 100% attendance. We enjoy our studies and have a sense of satisfaction as we slowly acquire a new language skill. We hope to apply for a second year without restrictions in Mar 2014.

Sat waiting paiently at the traffic lights on Sukumvit on Wed last. Pair of Tai's on motor bike joined oncoming stream of traffic. Suddenly, 30 seconds later they are riding at unbelievable speed back up into the incoming traffic and swerve back into our junction then continue North along Sukumvit. Could they be farang's disguised as Thai? Think not!

Had a feeling you might make a tool like that for yourself. It's true that the best ideas are the simple ones. Hope you can find a way to improve on it.

You need to see this very simple and extremely effective little tool:-

Coconut husk removal first stage in coconut oil production.
We noticed the post from Arjen, interested in coconut husk removal , so have done a little research to discover the most efficient methods. Some methods are so hopeless and dangerous. So here are our favourites.
Here is a Philippine traditional method for removing coconut husks. Also seen the identical method used in a Thai video. It is simple but with the proper technique a Philippine worker can remove about 200 husks per day. We think that should cost around TB300 in Thailand.
The next is my partners favourite mechanical husk removing machine. It does a very efficient removing operation in one single push.
Just for amusement I found this video clip. Don't think you will find anyone capable of this de-husking feat.
Thanks to Arjen for his kind visit offer but right now we are very involved in studying the Thai language.

Haha, now we know why Big C have been rushing to put up all prices these past couple of weeks. That should take care of profits for the remainder of the year. Buy selectively and let the over priced items rot on the shelves. Did anyone buy that Turnip at bht650.!

It's definitely gruesome to contemplate the body with a severed head but we all need a dose of reality to make us realize just how dangerous speeding can be. Sanatised accident reporting is not a very good deterant to speed crazed drivers/riders. Say it how it is help prevent even more accidents.

Thought it would be interesting to see just how complex and expensive it is to to produce Virgin Coconut oil so we found this youtube video made in the Philippines by a small scale producer.
Guess they must pay high salaries in Thailand to arrive at the high price. Can see it is labour intensive as shown here, there must be ways to make it much more cost effectively.

You can use coconut oil for sun protection. If you use other cooking oils expect to be badly burnt. It it also used to enhance hair. Coconut oil is anticeptic and anti-tumor so it can be used to assist healing of wounds.
During WW2 the water from the coconut was used as a substitute for blood plasma in emergencies.
The coconut tree is called the tree of life in the Philippines.

Yes Big C sells a 700ml bottle of Virgin Coconut oil for around 465 Bht from memory. Am used to paying much lower prices in the Philippines.
-
According to the research Virgin Coconut oil actually lowers colesteral . Some use it for that purpose by taking a tablespoon daily. Some reported that it replaced their medication.
Coconut is the Gold of oils because it does not oxidise like other oils that will go on to produce free radicals that damage normal cell reproduction leading to various health issues.
it's expensive, don't know why, does not make sense, but we force ourselves to use it in moderation because of the expense.

Sorry to be an idiot but did anyone notice where the Pattaya Court would be located?

My ex would have read all these posts by now. I just hope the OP has some strands of privacy remaining. My computer was always a target for investigation. Big waste of time in my case but that did not stop the privacy attacks.

You are sounding more and more like a rerun of my own bad experiences. There is no way I could have made my partner want to leave me, too many financial benefits. If you leave she will have some hardship, but nothing that she has not bought upon herself. She will survive, believe me, with the great start in life you have provided. Eventually, just like my partner there will be a new relationship. I hope you find the right woman the next time around too. Just go, replan your life, take the pain, it's not as bad as thinking about doing it. Turn over a new leaf. I know that partner of yours even though we have never met.

How can I get a ex-girlfriend to move out?
in General Topics
Posted
Do what I did in different but similar situation. Decide to abandon your possessions. Decide where else you could live happily. Move out unexpectedly. Get off Social Media. Never communicate in any way. Use a friend to monitor her life changes. When it's safe sometime down the line you may decide to return. She will recover and move on, how quickly will depend upon her adaptability. It's not easy but it's not too hard either.
