  1. AS IF the Thai IQ's can get any lower...cheesy.gif

Now on a more serious note... Always so quick to run to the government to ban and restrict and create/make or limit our available choices in life rather than take personal responsibility for our choices and lifestyles we live and the results of such.

I've witnessed it myself in the last 8 years of my travels and living here in Thailand, the children are getting bigger, waddeling, big thick legs that are NOT from playing football. Western influence plays a big role in this. Last stats I recall were something like 66% of all Americans are overweight/obese and it was/is only a matter of time especially with the influx of fast food outlets moving into this country. (McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, Pizza Hutb etc) Again, the information is out there, its the choices we as humans are making. You say they are kids? OK fine, whatever % of responsibility you want to remove from the children for the poor eating habits/choices they have made can then be moved over to the adult/parents lack of informing/educating them. The presence and temptations will ALWAYS be in our lives and the information has been at our fingertips for decades now.

In the USA its very difficult to get a good healthy affordable meal yet dozens of fast food chains are conveniently everywhere. Here in Thailand you can walk out your door and within a few meters you can get a healthy, affordable, meal consisting of vegetables, rice and choice of meat whereas you actually have to go out of your way to go to a fast food chain after you have passed literally hundreds of other options.

As for diabetes and sugary foods, once again the information has been out there for decades... High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) is the MAIN CULPRIT and cause of diabetes. Companies/corporations in business for profit use HFCS because it's way cheaper than sugar hence increased profit. Once again we have profit as first priority over human health. The pancreas is the organ that regulates carbohydrate and fat metabolism within the human body and produces insulin to adjust our sugars. The mere spike from the introduction of HFCS overtime literally SHOCKS the pancreas into hyper overdrivecauisng it to fail in producing the insulin needed thus you develop DIABETES. I suppose we could start cloning human pancreas and do transplants as a cure to diabetes. White sugar is better than HFCS, natural sweetners trump them all (ie. honey)

Milk? Sure is good for babies for calcium and bone development but overtime you really should steer away from milk. Why would you want to continuously drink something that turns a 90lb calf into a 1200# adult cow? Soy/rice milks are a healthy alternative.

  2. ED Visa... The one I have is the one you should get... I can tell you more if you message me as I can't post the details in here....

"I can't post the details in here...."

Sounds like a great deal. What could possibly go wrong?

It IS a great deal however the Forum rules are VERY strict... And posting any further details will simply get the post deleted. I ENCOURAGE the OP to contact me DIRECTLY so I can share my personal experience which will solve his problem

  3. RUN!

Thais aren't dealing with a full deck to begin with. Its not their fault. Most of them fit the textbook definition of sociopaths and the more extreme psychopaths. They lack empathy, responsibility for their actions etc

    so·ci·o·path
a person with a psychopathic personality whose behavior is antisocial, often criminal, and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience.
  4. Hope I am not violating any forum rules but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BIDC (Bangkok International Dental Center)

I have been there, they are professional, have a VERY informative website...

I encourage you to check them out FIRST

  5. Obviously, you DO NOT comprehend what a military imposed "Marshal Law" really means. So why not be brave? Give the current Thai Marshal Law, your own personal test-drive, especially since you probably don't believe pork-meat is greasy, til you've tasted it! whistling.gif

This is an F'n quote from an army spokesperson that was aired on tv...

"Under martial law, the National Peace Keeping Committee prohibits anyone across the kingdom from leaving their home from 10 pm to 5 am," an army spokesman said in a televised announcement."

Uhhhhh "prohibits anyone across the country from LEAVING THEIR HOME 10pm-5am"

    Uhhhhh LEAVING...

Geesh APPLY some common sense here people. Just because the clock strikes 10pm and you happened to not be at your home/hotel or are enroute too, that doesn't mean that you go hide and wait til morning.

It's a hell of a lot easier to explain if you are caught going in the direction of your residence/hotel than if they stopped you going away or an opposite direction of where your residence/hotel.

  6. <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

Regarding the confusion with the CURFEW, let me clear it up for most of you...

"Under martial law, the National Peace Keeping Committee prohibits anyone across the kingdom from leaving their home from 10 pm to 5 am," an army spokesman said in a televised announcement.

You are not permitted to LEAVE your home after 10pm...(or presumed Hotel/guest house).. If you are NOT home, they certainly can't PREVENT you from going TO your home.

Wrong, let me clear this up for you as all you are doing is helping to get people in trouble. It was already announced that international travelers needing to go/come to the airports could do so between 10pm and 5am, but that the transport companies involved would need a letter of permission first. Quite simple really.

All these wannabe law enforcements with their own interpretations of what something means TO THEM

  7. Sadly most of you people can't read between the lines or apply common sense.

YES, NOBODY is supposed to go out between the curfew hours. 10pm-5am.

HOWEVER, it's much easier to explain yourself if you are going TO your residence/hotel from whereever you have been partying or shacked up rather than if you are caught going in a direction away FROM your residence/hotel.

BIG DIFFERENCE between the 2 scenarios.

  8. Regarding the confusion with the CURFEW, let me clear it up for most of you...

"Under martial law, the National Peace Keeping Committee prohibits anyone across the kingdom from leaving their home from 10 pm to 5 am," an army spokesman said in a televised announcement.

  9. I have the Metz AF-52, will start with that.

It was really about how to set it up and the principles behind strobe lighting.

    Ta.

Sent from my SM-N9005 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

Well I must say the openning topic was lacking all around as strobe lighting is used for many things from fire exits, emergency vehicles, disco lighting, marine/aviation signaling etc...

  10. Ya know, I'm reading these posts and just shaking my head. I can understand that its been instilled in some of since birth and we feel that we must be honest and forthcoming but ya know something, I've learned in life, "What they don't know won't hurt them". You make an income that is practically untracable, you aren't on a Thailand companys payroll, you don't receive a paycheck/paystub...FUHGETABOWDIT!! Just make sure you have a good answer if ever asked "How are you living/sustaining yourself here in Thailand?"

Forget the Permit! Anything that requires one, just start another topic and I'm sure you can get suggestions (ie: bank account, post pay crap)

OTHERWISE, if you are too honest for your own good then march on down to OFFICEMAX get a bright colored posterboard and write "I WANT TO GIVE YOU MY MONEY THAT YOU ARE ENTITLED TOO BECAUSE IM HONEST AND LAW ABIDING"

  11. My suggestion (NOT ADVICE), don't tell your business to anyone. Nobody needs to know what you do, how you do it because that just opens more doors and governments to want a piece of YOUR pie.

Honesty is NOT always the best policy.

If Thailand is the paradise that you want to live in then YES, find another form of visa like an ED visa or something, kick back and enjoy life.

I'm in the SAME SITUATION AS YOU!

Whether its openning a bank account, getting post pay mobile contract or whatever, they all want/require a work permit/visa and recite it like robots without ever stopping for a minute and thinking that maybe there are some people that fall outside the norm. Maybe I'm a young guy, trust fund baby, filthy rich and will never work a day in my life, yet too young for retirement visa so what do we do? We become one of these dishonest people doing visa runs, lieing or what not. OH unless we succumb to the ELITE CARD which was created why? Status? Delusions of Grandeur? OR is it that Thailand also recognizes that WE exist and figured well if they don't need to work and we don't have a legitimate visa that they can get to remain in Thailand, lets capitalize off those people and create this CARD so they can bypass the inconveniences of our immigration system we created.

You know, I read these forums, various news sources, watch other news/media outlets and if I were to sum it all up basically it al comes down to this:

    MONEY!

Hell if you just watch the CI Channel (44) you will see shows like AUSTRALIA CUSTOMS/IMMIGRATION, PARKING WARS etc. From parking tickets to Immigration, governments have created such an immaculate system that it functions and generates revenue through the creation of "laws" that we truly don't need in the first place. However we are convinced that such has been created for the overal "safety" and "security". Governments instill fear and practically brainwash all of us to believe their cause.

    Bottom Line is:

They don't want you to have money.

What money you do have, they want to know about it.

If you transfer, move, carry more than a certain amount ($10k), they want to know about it by requiring you or financial institutions to document it.

They don't want you to work, without knowing about it because they want their taxes.

They limit what you can bring into a country (alcohol, cigarettes) because they don't want you to profit through sales and they won't get their taxes.

If you don't declare something, you are fined.

The list goes on and all of those I mentioned have some "plausible" reason as to why the law/regulation was created; whether it be to monitor money laundering or possible funding of terrorirsts for the purpose of our safety or not taking a job away from a local Thai citizen or bringing in an illness/disease from an animal or restricted foods....

WHATEVER. Its all because of MONEY and the governments WANTS IT hand over fist every way they can get it from you. Get this, they consider it a loss/theft by assessing the value of what they COULD HAVE collected or feel entitled too and have created more laws/regulations to instill fear and aid in their justification and entitlement to YOUR MONEY
