  2. So.. I thought Thaksin looked rather good, looking the more 'human' than ever to date, and making it totally obvious that he's putting King & Country before himself. Thus, to many people, he demonstrated that he really is the most mature side in this whole dispute. Sondhi obviously didn't give a (*#&$, and the Dems were their usual quiet self.

Still, regardless if you agree with the former, the reality is that the turnout was a still pretty healthy 65%, and that 54% of those (an absolute majority), actively voted FOR TRT, with the opposition getting.... nothing.

Assuming he has gained some face & support with his apparent move to resolve the conflict (that really most Thais wanted to end anyway), with some focus & perhaps financial lubrication, there's every chance that in the remaining 38 constituencies he can get a 20% vote for TRT in a by-election.. He managed that in 362 other constituencies, and with some added personal credit, chances are the remaining ones can be scooped up, too.

So where does that leave the Dems? Nowhere, right? Seems to me they should have joined a reconciliatory panel / national unity government when they had the chance because currently all the marbles are in TRT's basket, with Thaksin comfortably pulling the strings?

    Discuss. :o

    yes you are missing something

  5. Aussies claiming 'that ball'

    29.01.06 1.00pm

First it was sheep jokes.(Although we know they are much more gulty than kiwis) Then it was selective Australian nationality - you know, Russell Crowe is Australian until he biffs a phone and then he's a Kiwi.

Then came calls for New Zealand sperm from our transtasman neighbours after a supposed shortage of donors over there. (You have to up theIQ of Aussie somehow)

Now, they're claiming our underarm ball.

A $10,000 row has broken out - the Beige Brigade in one corner and defensive Australians in the other - over who has the real ball used in the underarm controversy of 25 years ago.

As part of research into the 25th anniversary of this most shocking fallout between neighbours, the Herald on Sunday discovered that one of the two balls used in the controversial one-day international resides in an Auckland bank vault and can be accessed only by fingerprint identification.

But the West Australian Cricket Association Museum has the other ball. Both sides are claiming theirs is the ball that was rolled underarm down the pitch by Australia's Trevor Chappell to innocent Kiwi batsman Brian McKechnie.

The Beige Brigade's ball was first owned by a former CEO of Qantas who then passed it to former New Zealand corporate kingpin Ron Brierley.

He donated it to a Wellington College fundraising auction where it was purchased by a Christchurch man. He recently put it up for sale on TradeMe and it was purchased by the Brigade for $10,000.

One of the umpires of the game (Don "The Weasel" Weser) provided an affidavit proclaiming the Aussie ball to be THE ball. However, the Brigade are disputing this.

  8. At the end of the day the customer will decide if the item is worth the price quoted.  If he buys it he obviously feels it is fine.

    EXACTLY!

There is no cheating here at all. He can even ask for 10,000baht and if this alien from whatever planet still thinks it is good price, why is it my ######ing business?

Are there any rules on how much profit one should make in business? :o

    My thoughts exactl :D y

  9. It may be stating the obvious to say that many Thai girls (but not all) don't view honesty as a virtue, but it I have become cynical enough to doubt even the most seemingly trustworthy TG. It seems to be a cultural thing that a TG can always justify her dishonesty in her own mind.

My question is this - is there anything that can be done to get a TG to admit to the truth? Do they give an honest answer if they swear to Buddha, ancestors, etc...? Not that I want to back anyone into a corner, but it would be quite nice to have a trump card for getting the facts when the truth needs to be known.

Honesty to a Thai person is very important [as it is to us all] But it has to be said that the Thai version is based upon the present needs and requierments..It is now 7.42 UKtime . I cocked up this post ,Sorry peep's :o

Thai girls know farangs are liars. They are meeting men everyday, who make idle promises to them. It's no wonder they lie too.

Having said that, I would never trust a bg. Just take them for what they are. Working girls. It's all part of the job. Take the opening lie. "hello handsome man"

    need I say more?

    Q.Why so synical?

sorry for the bda spelling but I could not arsed to corrrect it!

  13. No. Im sure this is a mellicious rumor. Im also sure that all bars are abiding by the law and closing at 1.00am.

Now if common sense was to prevail and the mib were to show some leniency, and turn a blind eye to some after hours trading im sure it would be appreciated by all, and should not be advertised on this forum.

    Sound advice!!

This isn't the place for silly small talk about bars opening later than 1am!!

    Spot on :o

  14. Greetings,

    New to the forum.

I'm preparing to marry a Thai woman in TL and would like some feedback about whether a pre-nup is a good idea.

I'm very happy with the girl who I've know for a while now and know she's a woman of good character however I had a rough divorce with a woman in the US where I had to part with half of my assets.

I'm just wondering if I'm fairly well protected by having the marriage in TL.

    Your thoughts?

If you need a pre-nup WHY are you getting married?

    Sorry, but sad man. :D

I forgot to say :o (you will find our thoughts are forthrigtht but not totally without logic ,and always well meant [unless Siam supergob is involved])
