Yeah the pre flight tests seem pretty pointless as most people that have Covid seem to only be showing positive near the end of quarantine.

I left in early June to go to uk and won’t be thinking of getting on a plane back until I can basically get on it and off it like it did leaving . Certainly won’t be paying for some insurance policy , overpriced fortnight in a hotel owned by the high up gangs mates , overpriced flights and tests that are pretty pointless before my flight !

Where did you get his information, shows positive at the end of Quarantine....Day 5 everyone does a test, if your positive your of to the hospital, hence that's what your insurance is for. And if you cant afford ASQ, one really needs to work out weather you can afford Thailand.

  2. When Thailand is home, you cant put a price on the return home to your house and family.

It's cost me with 10 large US to get home from Indonesia, as the embassy is not putting expats on the Repatriation flights at ALL and I will never go back. I'm half way through my ASQ and the food is great. 3 channels on tv, but this is easy. Get first free time tomorrow for 1hr outside...gives you something to look forward to. By the time I walk out I would have had 3 covid tests. Believe me looking at what happened in Australia regarding Hotels, Thailand are running this very seriously. I lost my job and was dumped in Jakarta on the 23rd June, and waited 9 weeks to get back with No TV. Could of gone to Australia, to return when....its closed.

9 weeks in Indo Hotels, Domestic flights, rapid test, covid test, food drinks. 70,000 baht +

    Flight to KL 7500baht.

Private Jet from KL to BKK  200,000baht

    ASQ 55,000 baht

Every man has his own reasons.

  3. Did it last month for the vey same reason, and with different airlines. In with Singers and 3hrs latter out with Laos airlines to collect Multiple entry O visa, but hand luggage only, you may find you  will be required to collect your  boarding pass from the relevant airline at the counter inside the transit area. Very easy.

  4. So I am working in Indonesia and need to get to Savannakhet to renew the marriage Visa, only problem is I forgot the envelope with all the doc's which are at home with the family in Thailand.

My question is do I really need any original documents or are copies ok, and if so can scanned copies of wife signature be accepted, or will I need the wife to send me originals and other documents signed to me in Indonesia via DHL before I leave.

I will be flying via Bangkok but only transit onto Savannakhet.

    Thanks

  5. We live in Chiang Mai and are heading to Pattaya for a week in April, looking for members recommendations for golf courses in the area.

Will be playing with wife and son, we have transport so distance from the city is not a concern as I usually travel 40+ clicks at home, and cost not concerned.

More about being able to get a Tee times in the morning.

    Cheers.

  6. There may be some good out of all this bad.

My son played every morning before school with this young boy, and it will stop.

My wife has had too sit down and prepare him for school tomorrow as many other parents are for all the rumours and bad stories.

This school is new and small but if some sort of subject about self control, seek help if needed and for last of all, guns kill. I hope this will teach all his fellow friends at school that violence pays.

My heart cries for the boy and his friends, we adults just sit here making claims for this and that.....

The kids are young but never forget, let's hope this generation can make a change.

  7. We have a good reliable gardener who comes every 2 weeks, small garden and his MB is <<<< phone number removed, please use PM function to contact for phone number >>>>

  8. The Farmers who planted crops with money borrowed from governments institutions, got paid as they need to service there loans to pay back the Government.

Farmers who survived without financial support and sold the crops to the Govt scheme are the ones waiting for there money, I know this as we are yet to be paid for our 100 rai crop, the run on effect was cutting farmers rice who could not pay that bill either as they never got paid.

Easy to sit on the side lines and throw rocks, but believe me many of the farmers are really struggling.

  9. We have 2 panels dedicated for the pump direct, so if the clouds come over you will see the pump slow down, the advantage is your base load power is not drawn dowwn when required.

I am curious about the "bicycle wheel drive motor". What is it and where is the motor for it? Thanks.

This may be a conversation over some time; I don't sign in here often anymore. Thanks for your info.

This is a brush-less electric drive hub, meaning the motor is in the hub of the wheel, these are designed for cars, motorbikes ect..we just used it for turning the pump which works well.

  10. Gentlemen,

reading the grim news of deaths and thefts is another reason I quit while I was ahead. My numbers were small compared to most so a loss would have hit my profit hard but research paid off in the feed department. Ask the older Thais how they used to do it, research a bit more on line or library, read the the labels on the pig feed (OK so you need to learn Thai, not rocket science!), do the ground work and you can get results. As I mentioned my pigs manure did not smell, nature has some wonderful things lying around in this country, I only scratched the surface.

    Keep the faith people!

    Changers

Firstly Rever sorry about the stock loss

Mr Changers reading all this is not bad but good information to be taken and used for the better.

After IA spoke about the need for fast action on PRRS, I asked my wife what does she know about it......nothing as I do, so lots to do and learn.

While most have nothing to do while they wait for the harvest season or plant...hence they all gamble and say no more.....answer for me was to employ the brother in law,who lives on the farm direct."his loss is my loss not to be shared"5555

Agree the old hands know but some times the young buck finds a better way for all.

    PS . my shit stinks

So was hoping someone has already passed the baby steps and believes in the fish feed for pigs program.

  11. CMPF,Thanks for the reply and your advise is noted well, always thought the only boy's making real money is feed suppliers.

For the first 18mths buying piglets and getting them to 90-100kg was just proving to be money out the door bar having something to do and not covering any infrastructure costs, 1000 baht profit per pig if your lucky

I will talk with the wife and see how she feels about your suggestion as her reply is always we need to feed the best for quick turnover, which on commercial feed is 4mths.

    Thanks again.

    Burri.

  12. Would like to hear from anyone supplying good proven feed for pigs, would like to support expat in the business and reduce our overheads. Win Win.

I have reduced the piglet buying price to breeding our own but feed cost's is where I need to reduce more.

    Thanks

    Burri.

  13. Yes big place on the left, but make sure unless your Thai is fluent, bring someone to help as they are not ready for ASEAN.

Long pants your choice never worn them my self never...timing well just avoid lunchtime as it's "tired La time"

Pics they do and any photo copying required can be done by the handy service desk.

Really is simple......patience is the key

  14. Ok let's work this out. They advised that November is a clamp down on driving licence checks and you think this is a graft.

I would hate to think what it would cost me in the UK.

You need proof of residents paper from Consul/embassy, doctor certificate and your time.....you will need to do the theory and rope pulling test absolute joke but hey......

All up it takes about 3-4 hrs to complete at the Hang dong rd complex, then return in 1 year for your 5 year licence.

Would like to see what would happen if we tried to pay off the cops at home.....I love it.

  15. Times are changing in Thailand and this so called min wage for Tax paying workers only has inflated the market price, so you can always do what we did, buy your own DC-70.

But remember the hidden costs which totals around 2 million baht for everything...Trailer...tractor..tooling..fuel drums..PPE...Bags and bloody fuel which so far is around 75,000bt and the first payment takes around 2-3 weeks as they need to take the rice to the market.

Then there is maintenance costs after the season......600bt sounds fair.
