  1. My opinion is that the real estate market is soon going to collapse, Europeans for sure wont be buying, USA has never had a massive ex pat population here, Russian Ruble is devastated as are its short term prospects, Chinese are being offered residency if they invest in property in Portugal and Spain under the golden visa scheme. Hard to see who is going to buy the massive number of Condos that have been empty for several years, without even considering those massive blocks that are under construction. A few building projects in Jomtien close to me are operating day and night 7 days a week, They must know something i dont !!!

  2. The worst i ever saw was an Arab familly on a flight from Bangkok to Dubai, one guy , 3 women and 7 kids in business class, Totally out of control running around and screaming, No intervention from the adults and none from the crew. I took a video of it on my camera and mailed it to the airline. Next thing i know one free business class flight Bangkok to London at any time of my choosing. I agree with earlier posts if you cannot control your kids dont take them with you

  3. I saw this with my own eyes on a flight a few weeks ago Beijing to Hong Kong on Dragon air. Majority of passengers were in large Chinese tour group, Before take off 2 guys walked from Economy to Biz Class and sat in unoccupied seats, big shouting match with crew when they were told to move. As the plane started its final descent into Hong Kong at least 30 people were stood up trying to get luggage out of the racks ,

  4. Those prices are very high, When i go home to Portugal i sometimes use these people if i dont want to lug my clubs from Thailand. http://www.clubstohire.com/ 35 Euros for a week is very reasonable compared to these guys. the only reason i would do it, is that flying London to Portugal on Easy Jet they charge you 30 Euros each way for transporting golf clubs. Obviously the long haul sections Bangkok to London they dont charge on business class, however it is a pain getting them to and from airports,

  5. as i understand it only costs about 8k Bhat but the lab they use is not very good at getting size right

Who is the "they" you're talking about? Several dentists have been mentioned above.

I had a partial done at Pattaya Dentist and after a short time getting used to it I no longer am even conscious that it's there. Perfect fit and perfect match in appearance.

So you are of the impression that dentures are made on the dentists premises, in fact to educate you, they are made from molds supplied by a dentist at one of 2 labs in Pattaya

  6. The latest numbers I see show the Thai GDP as - THB11.375 trillion (USD366 billion)(2012). If you attribute 10% of that to coming from Isaan that means the whole contribution from the region is about 1.14 trillion.

9 billion from foreigners would represent about 0.79 % of that total.

To put it another way, Isaan has a population of approx 22 million. 9 billion would equal about 410 baht per person (per year). Not exactly earth-shattering.

Unless you can state how much of the GDP goes directly to Isaan people and how this is distributed, you are talking manuture, How can you argue GDP figures against money that is put directly into the Isaan economy by farangs which is what the topic is about ?

  7. 9 billion is a large number of course, but needs to be taken in context. For example "Although Isaan accounts for around a third of Thailand’s population and a third of its area, it produces only 8.9% of GDP. Its economy grew at 6.2% per annum during the 1990s."

So as you have all the figures, Can you advise how much of these trillions are distributed to the Isaan population and by what means. I am sure the 9 billion goes to many of them directly. and a fair bit indirectly

  8. Having lived in Hong Kong for many years in the 80s and 90s, I Know money rules in HK, The students are on a hiding to nothing, however worthy their cause. Once the protest sites prevent HK people from earning money, the protest is doomed to failure. Beijing would be well aware of this, all the powers that be in Beijing had to do was wait.

CTH couldn't organise a p*ss up in a brewery. They can't even get their on screen program guide working.

"I would like to say that offering prepaid service is our key strategy, not post-paid or payments on a monthly basis," Chirdsak said.

He said he believed that customer behaviour in the pay-TV business was similar to that in the telecom business, where people prefer prepaid service to post-paid. So the company expects only 20-30 per cent of its new customers to choose the post-paid option.

The only reason they want pre-pay customers is because of the total failure of their Accounts Department.

I signed up with them last August and despite several phone calls asking where the bill was by November I had still not received one.

Mid November they had a scolling message continuosly running at the bottom of the screen on some channels which my wife said was about billing and that if I did not contact them by the end of the month the service would be suspended. I phoned they took my details and said a bill would be sent within 15 days.

Needless to say no bill arrived so I phoned again and they said wait your bill is coming. Finally on the 20th February my bill arrived but for January and February only.

I have not received a bill since but pay the monthly subscrption the 20th of the month.

Mr Chirdsak is talking out of his backside, the reason CTH want pre-pay customers is their woeful inadequecy in getting bills to their post-pay ones.
I thought it was just myself and a few mates who had problems receiving bills, I think Thai visa should pass this thread on to the owner and ask for his comments.
Surely he has no idea this is going on

  11. If you dont mind spending, Pukah Pies from Central and Tinned pies (forget name) from either Vila Market or friendship , miles better than Yorkies IMHO

  12. ok you made your provocative point, now off you go back to the classy sophisticated locations of Patpong, Soi cowboy, and nana plaza, and remember you need to be home by midnight

Bloody hell a lot of TV members really taking the post to heart. I'm not here to troll just because it's no longer attractive to me doesn't mean others don't enjoy it, I was only posting my opinion on the place no need to take it to heart!

  13. That notice is a disgrace, how anybody could treat their staff like that is unreal. I am a lifetime member however I regret it, even though it was a good deal at the time. You only need to listen to his voice on his radio commercials to realise what Tony is. Cringe every time I hear him
