  1. Thanks, appreciate the info on Ranong. Someone in that thread talked about hotel receipts. Well I won't have that as I live in my house in Prachuapkirikhan. They all talk about USD10, just as well to know in advance and the cost of the boat (THB100 pp). Hopefully that's all. I haven't done an exit at Ranong for 16 years. If it's not Ranong then presumably it would have to be Aranyaprathet, or are there others within reach of central Thailand?
  2. Yes The reason why I want to do it this way is that I live in Meuang Prachuap and I need to go to Phuket at some point before I leave Thailand. Ranong is on the way. Also I can get a far cheaper flight back to LHR if I fly just after 10 Jan as opposed to just before. There are two of us so multiply that saving by two. Those are two reasons but there are others. Thanks for your suggestion anyway.
  3. Thanks & sorry for not being clear. I have a single entry non-O whereby I entered via Suwanaphum on 12 Oct 2022, used up the 90 days and then in early Jan 2023 I extended it in Hua Hin for one year and then again in early Jan 2024 for another one year. This second extension expires on 10 Jan 2025. I was hoping not to have to get another extension as this would cost THB1,900 plus travelling expenses and hassle. I thought it would be preferable to leave and instantly come back in on a 30 day visa on arrival. I take it this can be done in Ranong. I am British and I would take evidence of my exit flight on 18 Jan in case Immigration need to see that, as you recommended. Kindly comment & many thanks
  4. A quick question. My single entry retirement non-0 expires 10 Jan 2025 but I want to book a flight out of Thailand on 18 Jan 2025. Rather than renewing my single entry non-O on 10 Jan can I go to a border (was thinking of Ranong), exit Thailand on, say, 9 Jan and re-enter the same day on a 30 day visa on arrival and then get my flight on 18 Jan? Does anyone see any issues with this and/or know the cost and requirements for the 30 day visa on arrival? Many thanks.
  5. Superrich Green is the only place, everything else including the orange is a scam. GBP50 the best denomination. Pick your moments you can trade in and out, the spread is that tight!
  6. I have over 30 years experience of trading the SET. To make regular profits you need to be totally committed throughout every session, otherwise pick a blue chip when it's down and hold for the long term. If you want to discuss then message me privately.
  7. No BS, I have a Thai stocks strategy that works. If anyone wants to discuss or just chat generally on the subject then please message me privately.
  8. Bad though it is, it is not significantly less littered in countries that should know better. I think it is largely a generational thing. Although the youth think it's cool to be environmentally aware, they are the main culprits. The minimum you can do is not throw or allow anyone around you to throw rubbish and pick the odd bit up when you have a spare moment.
  9. Can I assume that it will be a 90 day stamp, otherwise what's the point?
  10. I've read that you can switch to a retirement visa from the first renewal date. That application should be be made within the final 30 days of the initial 90 days of the non 0 visa. I will probably make my application a few days before. The avoidance of mandatory insurance was also my main reason for opting for the spouse over the retirement.
  11. I got my Non O Spouse Visa a week ago. The Embassy sent a PDF file notifying approval and giving data of visa and applicant. No instructions from the Embassy come with the file although one assumes one is to print this out and show it to the airline at origin/customs at Suwarnaphum. At that point the customs officer presumably puts a stamp or sticker in the passport upon sight of the document and QR code. Are these assumptions correct?
  12. I am applying from the UK, not extending in Thailand. Since we will be staying in our house, I was thinking she could write a statement on a scanned copy of our Tabien Bahn that I will be staying with her at this address. Whatever she writes, should it be written in English or in Thai? If the system allowed more than a single document I could provide Tabien Bahn, Chanote and the letter separately. Any ideas gratefully received????
  13. On the non O visa application form here in the UK there are two places to submit financial evidence: #4 & #10 of the final page. It appears you can only upload one file per place. #4 is about financial evidence and #10 is to do with bank statements. They both amount to the same thing. I suppose I could upload the uncertified statements in one place and go to a different bank for stamped and certified statements in the other place. How did you interpret it? I have to say that the poor spelling, syntax and grammar across the whole application form beggars belief. You'd think someone would come up with the idea of reorganizing it for the betterment of everyone concerned.
  14. Is that absolutely the case? I have just uploaded one from Chase Bank which is has their logo all over it but you're saying that's not acceptable?
  15. I'm making the application in the UK. You've cleared up the "letter from spouse". It's not actually an extension (yet), it's the initial visa although it amounts to the same type of letter. What should I submit as "Residence permit". It is a question with an asterisk so it must be answered. I suppose my passport once more. As for the two question about Financial Evidence & Bank Statement, I could either submit the same bank statement or possibly add another one from a different bank. Proof of accommodation could be her/our Tabien Bahn, I guess. Are there any threads on this or places to go for support? The Thai Embassy don't answer their phone.
