The other option is to ask for a six month statements every 6 months which are printed same day as requested and then get book update and letter (and one month statement if dates do not overlap properly) on the same day.
No, that doesn't work; it is the date that the statements are created that cannot be older than seven days.

But now there are more reports even for those on retirement extension.
Yes, I'm on an extension of stay based on retirement. A couple of weeks ago, I had a visit too. (Hat Yai Immigration, Songkhla.)

I'm neither Thai nor a True customer, but I've been using an app called TrueMoney for several years. It's useful for paying bills and shopping at 7-Eleven. It even has a virtual Mastercard that can be used with Google Wallet.

Transfer the foreign currency and let the receiving bank do the exchange.

Hardly a percentage in less than four digits.
Yes, it's complete nonsense to use four significant digits for the percentages.

Nice, for once, to see a dual-pricing scheme that doesn’t depend on how you look.

The website https://www.crackinglanguage.com/ offers many great features, including a Tone Assistant Tool that can determine the tone of any word across different dialects.

The viral video has led to an outpouring of reactions online. Critics of the foreign masseur argue that allowing non-nationals to step into these roles undermines the integrity and economic prospects of local Thai workers.
So how do these critics know that he is not a Thai national?

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but I believe it was a notification in the app.
I've looked through my notifications, and don't see any message warning me of the change. It is of course possible that it came by some other means - Shopee sends so many emails, notifications, and Line messages every day that I tend to ignore them.
I'm pretty sure that the notification would have been from the ShopeePay app and not Shopee.

Did they notify by email? If so they must have missed me, and Shopee support also didn't seem to know about, as I wasted several hours with them, trying all their suggestions to get the account unbanned

Since Shopee Pay is a company providing financial services, I'm sure they have to comply with rules set by the BoT, and that banning an account with funds inside, without prior notice, is against some of those rules.
Actually, they did notify about a month ago that they were going to close all accounts held by foreigners. They also provided instructions on how to get any remaining money transferred out.

The only thing that has changed is the new interpretation of how remitted income may be assessable income if the income is both earned and remitted after 31 December 2023. It seems that nothing else has changed.
Yes, it really is that simple, isn’t it? It’s mind-boggling that so many posters on this forum fail to understand that.
For the record, I have previously only remitted non-assessable funds, so I haven’t filed any tax returns (except once, to claim a refund for withheld tax on interest from my Thai bank account - and I only did that to obtain a Thai TIN so I could satisfy my home country bank’s requirements).
Now, due to this change, some of the funds I remitted in 2024 are assessable, so I will file a tax return. However, no tax will be payable due to deductions and other factors. As a bonus, I’ll even receive a refund for withheld tax on interest (something I hadn’t bothered with before because the small amount wasn’t worth the hassle).

Having a TIN does not make one a resident for tax purposes; staying in the country for an accumulated 180+ days in a calendar year does.

I think True Wallet is just existing because of people using it at 7-11 and maybe pay bills for true phone / internet bills. Other than that I have never heard of any advantage to main banking apps
In addition to paying at 7-Eleven and taking care of utility bills, it also offers a virtual Prepaid Mastercard that can be added to Google Wallet. I find this convenient as it enables me to pay with my watch.

I agree, but they will need to clean up some laws to make everything fit.
Yes, indeed. Probably quite a lot. I think that's the main reason for the 120-day moratorium.

So you can get a 180 day visa for going to a music festival ? 😳
No. What you will get is a multi-entry visa with a validity of 5 years giving 180 days permission to stay each time you enter the country, with the option, once per entry, to apply for an extension of the permission to stay with a further 180 days.

It’s my understanding that Wise accounts must have an address in the country they are setup in… I could be wrong and if so that would be a solution…
Do you have a US Wise account with a Thai primary address?
I originally set up my account while living in Denmark. When I moved to Thailand I changed the address to my Thai address. I don't recall having any issues doing that.

The issue is how does someone retired in Thailand work around this issue?
I’m asking for advise from others who may have experienced this and how they resolved this short of moving back to the US and having a “residence”…
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but why is this an "issue"? Simply use your Thai address.

There is one clue that I've picked up on over the years which is that delays to payouts seen to occur around Thai holiday periods when business and hence in-payments slow down.
Yes, that makes sense.
(I'm sorry that I phrased my reply like that. I misinterpreted your statement about not knowing to be a question. I apologise for putting words in your mouth.)

'Peer-to-Peer Transfer System
Wise operates a unique peer-to-peer system that matches user transfers with someone sending money in the opposite direction. By doing so, Wise can minimize or eliminate the need for traditional currency conversion, resulting in fairer and more competitive exchange rates'.
There is a more comprehensive description elsewhere, but I have better things to do with my time than go searching for it.
No I do not know why payments are slow just now. Maybe it's connected with Thailand's sluggish economy.
Perhaps your own quote answers your question: I.e., the amount of THB needs to be already in Thailand to cover your transfer and, if not, they will have to delay until they have enough THB locally to put into your account.
