No surprises there.

Anyone who places movie stars on a pedestal and worships their views need to have their head's examined.
True, the celebrity cult in America is idiotic.
However, the political and religious cults that have sprung up there are more than mindless, they have become extremely dangerous to everyone on the planet.
The farcical film, Idiocracy, was mentioned in a news story I was reading this morning. For some years I've also been of the opinion that it has become more of a documentary about the failed states of America.
For the smartest country on earth, it has vast swathes of the stupidest people to ever draw breath. Many of whom bleat their versions of idiocracy on this forum. I often wonder how many of them actually live here

Would be nice to have that clarified even once when this kind of thing happens but so far it's never happened.

How or why was he arrested? He was attempting to leave the country - normally a fine is payable and you're on your way.
Not a Phuket though - things seem to work differently there.
Is there a reward for finding a foreigner on overstay?
There has been a couple of cases reported at Phuket where overstayers have been arrested rather than just allowed to depart.
Considering the high volume of tourists and others who visit Phuket I'm sure scores of overstayers continually depart from there without being carted back to detention. The obvious reasons for the arrests would be that they face other charges, and the Police won't allow then to escape overseas. Happens in most countries, it's not unusual for wanted crims to be placed on Australia's alert system, for example.
The surfeit of English language reporting of all things Phuket may also be a factor in these cases being highlighted while they go unnoticed elsewhere.

For me, the monetary ROI on solar is only one of the considerations. I'll be installing solar because the quality of power delivered in parts of Thailand is very low (voltage fluctuations, power cuts etc.) Damage to electronic items and the knowledge of no (or at least greatly reduced) days without power should also be factored.
Admittedly those might not be factors for others.
Yes, certainly valid considerations when thinking of solar.
I was going the same way when we moved to this property a few years ago. The service had all the problems you listed, although I do protect the electrical devices with top quality breakers and boards.
Then one day PEA turned up, removed the old lines, installed new posts, ran wire from the highway all the way to the house, and even gave us the new style meters. Apparently our little rural soi had met a magic number of 6 subscribers.
The service now is stable, cuts are few and relatively brief. Now an analysis suggests we stay with the norm. The costs of solar would need to greatly decrease to make it viable.

@ liquorice. I've more than met my quota of discussion with arrogant fools this month. I promise to avoid any further interaction with you in the same way I reject the inedible confection you represent. I suggest you do the same with any old crocs you come across.

No completed TM 7's.
No passport photos.
Just a copy of the passport, not all the pages. No updated Kor Ror 2.
No photos in and around the house.
No map.2 sets of copies.
You have a very lenient Immigration office then.
🤩
Sigh!
Again, if you had read further by clicking on the category "wife" you may have received some edification.

ศูนย์อุบัติเหตุ-ฉุกเฉิน - โรงพยาบาลวิภาราม (vibharam.com)
This hospital advertises its emergency treatment center on its website.
Despite the apologists inventing excuses for the place, there is none.
I recall the Taiwanese patient was rejected because he was alone on admittance, and they couldn't establish if he had insurance.

No, I read the document checklist, which omits half the required documents and only list documents for ID and financials.
Obviously you don't apply based on Thai spouse. If you'd taken the time or made an effort to open the link posted by @BaanOz, you'd see I made a similar comment in that topic, then went on to post a comprehensive list of the required documents.
I extended for 12 months, based on marriage, three days ago. For documentation I used the Bureau of Immigration extensions list that I linked. I received my Under Consideration stamp without drama.
My mistake was to, unknowingly, quote one of the surliest characters on the forum. I didn't look/remember that you were someone best avoided in mature discussion here.

No idea why you replied to my post.
I was informing, not asking.
The link you posted is for the criteria, (financial requirements) not the document checklist.
Perhaps if you weren't so obsessed with being offended by my quote you may have read past the criteria and on to the documents to be submitted list.

The list in that topic from the wall in CM IO is for the initial Non O if you entered TV or VE.
It is not for the 1-year permit of stay if you already obtained the Non O previously.

32 x 445W Longi panels installed by company 200.000 baht
Do-it-myself:
Deye inverter imported from China 96.000 baht
40 KWh ESS battery imported from China 280.000 baht
Various install material 20.000 baht
Total 600.000 baht, reduced PEA bills of 90.000++ baht/year so 6.5 years until ROI.
Thankyou.
I guess with such a massive electricity use (90.000++ baht/year) it may be well worth it. Our property (several buildings) pays PEA about 25-30k a year. Not worth buying an expensive system to replace it.
I wouldn't live long enough to get the advantage even without costs of R & M and upgrades.
We do have a number of solar powered lights around animal enclosures, ponds, etc
I am considering buying a solar pump to transfer water from ponds to fields. Any recommendations?

So, you're the porch pirate neighbor who has been hassling the delivery drivers and opening our parcels. How else would you know about our garbage ordering and processing business? Despite later claiming to not know what we order, you have already incriminated yourself.
At least I now know what you look like. Pic taken by doorbell camera .

How much did the solar system cost, and how long will it take to pay for itself with reduced PEA bills?

Maybe for a International hospital they should be employing Russian staff I see plenty of Russians going there when I have had to use the hospital,
Most, if not all, private Phuket hospitals employ Russian coordinators on staff.
"International Medical Care: “We speak your language”
Bangkok Hospital Phuket employs a team of multilingual coordinators who are always ready to assist guests to overcome any language barriers. The hospital also liaises and coordinates with leading insurance & assistance companies worldwide to facilitate the insured with direct billing agreements. Over a dozen worldwide languages are spoken at Bangkok Hospital Phuket, which ensures patients can feel at ease in any language. Multilingual Coordinators speak English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Danish, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and Tagalog."
Obviously, Government hospitals don't have the budget for such staff.

She is trying to blame an Australian man which is ludicrous, Australian men simply don't behave in this manner, now if it was Russian that would be a different story.
Australians can be criminals just as can any other nationality. Look at the bikie gangs and their activities around Pattaya as an example.
In this case the Australian is the father of the potential child victim.
Save your sarcasm for somewhere more appropriate.
I'm an Australian who doesn't think all who come from my country are snow white, as the English do.

I only have a problem with people from a certain country (European) and it certainly is not the British
It's a bit like the stock photo used in the OP. I very much doubt the models are British. They don't appear to fit the style of young people from there.
The same group have been pictured many times in pics on Shutterstock and that company and the photographer are American.

oh wow, so a French woman, Lebanese guy and an Australian are going to go through a he said/she said with the Thai police over kidnapping a kid from a prominent Thai woman... this is gonna get interesting, who has the most cash wins I guess
The Australian is married to the prominent Thai woman and is the father of the child.
It's a little more clear cut than a she said/he said situation.
The French woman entered the country illegally and had been changing hotels daily. Strange behavior for a genuine visitor.
Despite her denials, Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradet expressed scepticism over Diersten’s claims, stating the police had gathered ample evidence against her.
Reading the flowery language describing her companies, and the dodgy over qualifications of the senior staff, would have me, and my money, avoiding them like the plague.

British tourist arrested with cocaine hidden in passport

What have you got to hide?
Literally millions visit Phuket every year without getting arrested.
Only the druggies, the crims, the drunken fighters and the chronically stupid are getting in trouble.
