  1. I don't have health insurance so i need to show proof of money in a bank account. As you were saying, i thought also about doctoring (or is it "redacting" in english ?) the account number, easily done with an editing software. But the number is not random and has to follow a precise pattern that can be verified if they decide to do so...Doctoring the account statement, even in a small way, could mean for them that the whole document is a fake, and visa being denied.
  2. Insert the merged files into any slot available. That is what i always do, and i never had any visa denied. I can't see of any other solution. And by adding a first page listing the included files you are sure they will get everything they are asking for. Of course you could omit sending your bank statement and wait hopefully that they won't need it or that they will eventually ask you for it, but i would not bet on that. Waste of time, and easier for them to simply deny the visa.
  3. Thanks for all your advices. I have decided not to obscure any part of the bank account number, to avoid my visa possibly being denied. And truth to be said, i have sent my bank account number many times already without any problem. I was just being overly cautious regarding thai civil servants in general, whose honesty is sometimes questionable.
  4. "I have obscured everything but my name and the pertinent info on foreign bank statements" Do the pertinent infos include the full account number ?
  5. The visa i am looking for is the new LTR visa for "wealthy retirees"
  6. The bank account is in my country in Europe, and the BOI Board Of Investment in Thailand needs to see a certain amount of money in it. You see so many stories in Thailand of people having their bank account being hacked and emptied, but i am probably overthinking it. You're right, as far as i know you cannot access to an account with only its number. And they are surely expecting the full account number anyway, doing otherwise could make them suspicious of foul play. Thanks
  7. Thinking of getting a Long Term Visa...Becoming a little paranoid, I am reluctant to send my bank statements showing my bank account number. Would it be a problem if i obfuscate a few digits, like replacing them with "*" ?
  8. It is to be expected because the requirements from the embassy usually exceeds those from the eVisa. I always have to merge some of the files into one and add a first blank page explaining what documents are in the merged file. Works everytime. Merging pdf files is simple and can be done on some free websites if you don't have a pdf editing software.
  9. I agree that the eVisa website requires less informations than a few months ago (post covid effect ?). But you still have to upload whatever the embassy requires on its website. For example the french embassy require more documents like hotel reservation, bank statement, attestation of retirement..etc. As there is now nowhere to upload these informations on the eVisa application site, you have to merge several unrelated documents into one, hoping they will get it.
