  1. Meanwhile, another sign has emerged to signal that Phuket is becoming a jetsetter’s playground

Is Phuket air still in business?? :o

I have also heard from the some real estate mongers, that developers from Hawaii are scouting out Phuket for developement locations. For those who want the rich to come to Phuket and live, look no further than Hawaii for the future results. If the rich have their way, they will block off the beaches to keep others away, with a few entrance ways for the Thais to come in and work for 100 Baht a day. And for the middle class tourists, you'll find $200 a day rooms similiar to the ones in Bangkok for $25. After another 10 years, the island will be off limits to those that don't own property, except for house hold help. As for Thai culture and attitude, you'll have to go to Issan to a cultural village to see what it used to be like......... Be careful what you wish for and who you welcome. As for us foreigners who are here now, be thoughtful for what culture and habits you bring. We should be mindful not to destroy what we came here for, in exchange for what to the rich is pocket money. BB

It's already happening on Bang Tao beach where I live. The only access to the middle of the beach by car has just been sold for luxury villa development. They have just started charging 50 baht a car to access the beach until they start building then I suppose it will be blocked completely. The next access is about 3K's away but that is now having the Beach Club resort built on it so it's another 5K's up to Layan for a swim.Bit of a pain when you use the beach everyday.

  2. Who can you trust in Phuket? Whatever about the dubious denizen’s of the dark I anticipated as I’m

sure many other innocents from abroad that a registered notary the principal of an international

law firm would effect a modicum of morality in execution of his legal obligations. But quelle

surprise I have discovered to my cost that such mundane logic (some cynics I grant may advocate naive belief)

has not only been defied but defiled. The eminent lawyer I employed to set up and audit my company accounts to purchase a house almost ten years ago has indeed been filing my accounts and dutifully providing me with relevant documentation to affirm thus but has unbeknownst to me been misappropriating the moneys designated for the relevant tax authority. I now find myself up the Swanee ducking and diving in an effort to reverse the cogs of officialdom who rightly believed I had been avoiding my tax liabilities.

I am curious to discover if other unfortunates have had the same experience, can suggest creative ways in which to limit the annual tax trawl and might dare to recommend an honest lawyer?

I have used Phuket Land Law (Cherng Talay)for 3 years now and have recommended them to many people.I have always found them very helpful.I can P.M you there Phone No if you want to try them.

  3. Look's like a lot of people posting here have never encountered the Patong tuk tuk scum.I was driving in Patong the other day looking for an address in Rat-u-thit Rd.I pulled over to the kerb to read the directions I had written down.Suddenly their is this fat slob banging on my passenger window shouting YOU,YOU.I let the window down to ask what he wanted,he was then joined by two other drivers all shouting You,You.You no stop here. You go now.I finished reading my directions and replied You,You <deleted>> off.I drove off nearly taking the fat slobs head off as he was now leaning through the window. So you do not even have to be a fare to upset these aggressive little sh-t's.They seem to be telling where you can stop now.
