AI told me the names of the documents I need to ask for: Here are the usual Thai terms for those two documents: Standard bank letter หนังสือรับรองยอดเงินคงเหลือจากธนาคาร (nang-sue rap-rong yôt ngern khong-luea chak thanakhan) 3-month detailed transaction report รายงานรายการเดินบัญชีย้อนหลัง 3 เดือน (rai-ngaan rai-gaan dern ban-chee yon-lang šaam duean) For future reference.

Yes Immigration offices are like hospitals for me, don't like them 😅but will be going in the mornign tomorrow. Thank you for takign the time to reply with this information, much appreciated. One more question. I will have to get the documents at the bank and amphur on my own as due to the nature of my wife's job, she can only join me in the afternoon at the IO. Is there a word in Thai I can show at the bank to save me having to explain what I need?

I'd like some clarity and any tips as to what to do and prepare in my situation for the 12 month marriage extension. Here's my background with some questions: I have never done this extension before at any IO in Thailand. So have absolutely no idea about anything in this process, just some rough info on documents that would be needed. I have asked agents and they seem to not help with this kind of service for some reason. I have had 400k sitting in a Thai bank since January. I have 9 year old daughter (so is a witness needed? will she need to also be present?) I have a rental agreement and live in a condominium (do the immigration police even visit condos? does the wife and child have to be present whilst they are visiting?) Am still married but haven't done anything in terms of updating any kind of marriage documents. I can't even remember the amphur in Bangkok where we registered at but it wasn't the one where we are now. So if I do need the documents updated could I do it any any amphur? The marriage visa I am on now expires August 1st....when is the best time to kick start this process? If anyone knows the current and updated checklist for this extension for this particular office, Samut Prakan, I'd be grateful if you'd share, it'd save me a trip.

High-rise buildings in Bangkok resistant to earthquake
KruAlastair replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
To some of the idiots posting nonsense, I just survived an 8.2 magnitude earthquake in Bangkok in a condo that was built in 2017. This post sure aged well. -
Parental consent form for Thai wife
KruAlastair replied to KruAlastair's topic in Visas and migration to other countries
She does, she has both Thai and UK passports but wife is concerned about the small print on the form she made for me at the amphur. The amphur wouldn't let me write one for her and said I have to do it at the British embassy . I was like seriously? (I'm taking our daughter to the UK after she gets back from Korea) -
My Thai wife wants to take our daughter to South Korea for a few days. I can't go. She says I need to write a consent form to do this but because I'm British I have to do it at the embassy. Anyone done this before is this really necessary? What documents would I need and looking online the British embassy doesn't seem to offer notorising services anymore.

I’ve prepared some documents for my application and would appreciate some advice on whether these will suffice: Recent photo (I'll just use a digital upload of a recent passport photo) Proof of current location: Primary: Biodata page of my passport Alternative: Driving licence Last resort: Temporary lodging agreement from relatives in the UK Marriage certificate (digital copy – front and back) Thai bank statement showing 400k: They want it recent but I’m unsure how recent this needs to be—do they require several months of history or just a single month’s statement? Also, my Thai bank statement from Bank of Ayudhya doesn’t show my Thai address—would this be an issue? Also what do they mean by "no screenshots" ? They just want PDFs right? Wife’s Thai ID card Daughter’s Thai ID card I’m also unsure about the following documents as I've seen others post on this topic that they needed these but some have said they have since slimmed down the requirements, my wife is a very busy woman and I don't want to pressure her into writing a letter: Invitation letter from my wife – Is this necessary? Wife's tambien baan - Is this necessary? Thai address – Do they require proof such as rental agreement? Plane ticket – Do I need to provide evidence of my travel to Thailand? Any insights offered would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello I have been told that this is no longer possible. These are the words of a commenter when I asked on another forum if anyone had any info regarding the information needed for the Samut Prakan immigration office to convert a visa exempt to 90-day non-o spouse visa. "when done inside Thailand it is called an extension as you can not get a visa inside Thailand. Also you need to buy either a single entry, or a multi-entry re-entry permit to be able to leave the country, and come back on the same extension type. What you did before no longer exists so get all of that out of your head. You need bt400,000+ in your bank account. There are no longer any exceptions to this." I don't want to argue with him, he is either ill informed or correct. So which is he?

Thanks for the info, the embassy finally got back to me today to address my query but it was more of a generic reply and it made everything even more confusing. This information contradicts everything they ask for on their website : https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/spouse-and-family-visa All I want to know is if a statement showing the 400k in my thai bank for a couple of months will suffice as well as a driving licence which is still valid but has the wrong address, my wife's ID card and marriage ceritificate. I can also show proof of travel to Thailand. But this is what they asked for in their email which doesn't clearly state whether or not I can just use my Thai bank account to show proof of income or do I have to show funds in a UK account as well? Their reply: Required Document 1. Biodata page of Passport or Travel Document. 2. Declaration. - Visa declaration must be downloaded and signed. Illegible youth declaration form can be signed by their parents/ guardians. 3. Financial evidence, e.g. bank statements, proof of earnings, proof of sponsorship from a third party -Your recent official UK/Ireland bank statement shows your name, address, and a minimum closing balance of £500 (for individual single entry) £1,000 (for family single entry) proof of earnings (payslips) or sponsorship letter from your sponsor with official ID and their Bank Statements. (Do not send the screenshot) 4. Photograph *taken within the last six months. If the photograph does not reflect your current appearance you may be refused to enter the Kingdom of Thailand. - If the photograph is inappropriate, and does not reflect your current appearance your visa may be rejected to enter the Kingdom of Thailand. 5. Personal details of a family in Thailand, e.g. ID card, Passport and the visa page or stay permit in Thailand . - Applicants who are spouses and children of person working in Thailand are required to submit a confirmation letter from the employer of their family members working in Thailand mentioning all applicant names, visa page/ work permit of their family members. 6. Proof of accommodation in Thailand, e.g. Accommodation bookings, and invitation letters from family/friends in Thailand. - Invitation letters from family/friends must be submitted with their respective official photo ID. - Accommodation booking must have details of applicant name/ date (check in and check out)/ address and contact no. of your accommodation. 7. Proof of relationship to a family in Thailand, e.g. A copy of marriage certificate/birth certificate/certificate of adoption. - Copy of original document (Documents in foreign languages must be translated into English and the translation must be certified by the relevant embassies in London.). 8. Residence permit in a country in which the visa application is submitted (In case the applicant is not a national of the country in which the visa application is submitted.). - In the case of non-UK / non-Irish national applicants, a copy of the BRP card / Ireland residence card or letter from UKVI(UK visa) settlement status must be provided. UK nationals can provide a UK Driving license (for UK/Ireland nationals) or any UK ID to fulfill the requirement of the application. 9. The letter from your spouse indicated that you both are still married and he/she acknowledges of your visit. 10. All travel records for the past 12 months (1 year) since the last international trip. - International travel record over the past 12 months from the application date. 11. Document that can verify applicant's current residency (Applicant must apply for e-Visa via a specific Embassy/Consulate conforming with his/her consular jurisdiction and residency.). - Applicants are requested to submit their local utility bills eg. electricity bills/ gas / mobile phone / rental agreements. 12. Bank statement, showing GBP10,000 minimum, with name & visible

Sorry if this has been asked before. I emailed them 3 days ago and am yet to receive a response. I am new to the process of applying for a visa in my own country, usually I do it in one of the neighboring countries of Thailand. Truth is I'm only in the UK visiting for a couple of months. I am actually a resident in Thailand and I plan to extend this by 12 months when I'm there. Just some questions about some of the docs they need, as I am not a resident of UK. Document indicating current location I understand that utility bills (such as electricity, gas, or mobile phone) showing my name and address are required. So will a copy of the front and back of my UK driver's licence card with my address on suffice? This is actually an old address - I am not currently at the address stated on my UK driver's licence. Will this be an issue? Financial evidence showing monthly income So I recieve all my money in Euros through Wise, working for a European company, so I can't really show this, even though it has a UK address on the statement, it wouldn't match the one on my driver's licence. Would they instead accept the bank balance of my Thai savings account in Thai baht? I have had 400k THB sitting there for a couple of months already ready to show. How long must it be sitting there for it to be accepted? And if I show this, do I still have to show UK bank statements showing monthly salaries? Sorry again if this has already been asked.
