I bought my wood-chipper in Bkk:
I have a Kojima as pictured. Hammermill-type and works just great but not for big material.
After a year or so of operation the bearings on the main shaft failed - they are not equipped with any lubrication fittings.
While I was at changing them out with bearings which can be lubricated, modified the engine mount so the belt tension and alignment can be adjusted.
Runs so much smoother and quieter now.
I made a mistake and purchased a WC155 chopper from CLPE - outfit in Bangkok. Chopped quite well but the belts were too short and would disintegrate in under an hour or so. Also had some major welding problems... finally got my money back from them. Beware!
I have the Kojima as well but is unsuitable for Palm-leaves which is like 90% of what I need it for .
How did you modify the engine mount? My first try-out set my belt on fire because the wheel didn't turn any more (stuck inside with palm-leaves).
What I do now is chop of the fine leaves from the palm-leaves and throw this in the machine while the woody part is left for slow composting. It is quite an operation but it is a good workout!

Build my pool in 2001 using salt water (less salty than an eye drop) in combination with a Chloromatic system. This system is able to make chlorine from salt at a minimal level.
Ten years later I need to replace the pumps because of corrosion. I don't like chlorine so for me this is the system to go. I only had to purchase salt for maintenance. What I am looking at now is to change it to a natural pool:

"Safety limits say small dust particles should not go beyond 120mg per cubic metre of air."
Facts from the World Health Organization:
The 120 μg/m3 8-hour mean is based on Ozon and was reduced to 100 μg/m3
I think we have to compare to the below figures:
Particulate matter Guideline valuesParticles with an aerodynamic diameter smaller than 2.5 µm
10 μg/m3 annual mean
25 μg/m3 24-hour meanParticles with an aerodynamic diameter smaller than 10 µm
20 μg/m3 annual mean
50 μg/m3 24-hour mean- 1

Had my car delivered from Udonthani and driving in Pattaya for 3 month already. Already had an accident with a motorbike (13 year old at night drove in to me from the back while standing still) and insurance handled everything, no problem. My wife told me that officially you are not allowed to drive with a red-plate after sunset. It sounds like a BIG BS, but hey, TIT. Also, the insurance company didn't mention it.

What's the other 2 photographs for?
This happens when people don't understand the signs or don't give a f%&k.

What does the following sign mean? I am allowed to park on Odd Dates or I am NOT allowed to park?
Pattayas finest had the answer:

Isn't it time to put a ban on alcohol and legalise ganja, ganga, pot liquor, bammy, chillums or whatever you call it? Being high is sooo much better (for others) than being drunk

Coming from Pattaya I prefer Swampy. Problem with Don is that it can take an additional hour from Swampy to Don when the traffic is bad. For this reason I fly Bangkok Air or Tiger Air if I fly within Asia.

Buy a truck and visit all the Red Shirt Rallies to serve Somtam. Call it the Somtam Express and you would really do well! At the same time sell Yellow Shirts with your logo to create some confusement.

Dreadful place to goto. Are they asians because you know that asians have less rights then dogs in saudia and other arab countries
Before they go ask them to check out www.youtube.com and search 'slaves in arabia'
Depends on company you are working for but in general agents are bad news.
It can be great or it can be a nightmare.
Spent a year in KSA and loved it! Dry heat and next to the Red Sea so great for diving.
Petrol is less than 5 Baht per liter! If you have to live in Riyadh than think twice
Regarding Visa, I used an agent to get my Visa and I am sure I could handle this with email, mail and online requests to Government offices, but I do not recall how I managed my medical.
Most likely you'll get an Iqama (employment Visa) where I only got a one month business visa so I had to leave every 30 days.

Just did the same last month. I handed over my old passport with 10 holes punched into it to the junior immigration lady and was looking at her face to see how she would react. She turned her face to the senior lady and made a statement in Thai that my passport looked like an Emmentaler Cheese. The senior lady looked at me and pointed to my new passport I was holding in my hands. She stamped my new passport and off I went to the gate.

Created two fantastic children (hard work!) and was able to raise them and educate them partly in Thailand. I was able to give them more than proper education in Thailand which these days is going down the drain where I come from.
Life is good and I enjoy it (almost) every day when I am here.

I would hazard a guess that your chicks were not eaten by cats, you have a good sized snake there somewhere. A chick is to big for a cat but not for a snake. I have a cat that just looks at them but have had chicks still disappear. Turned out a large cobra was having snacks and it got into the rabbit cage and ate them too. Its downfall was getting too greedy and eating more than one and couldn't get back out through the wire mesh. It was added to the stewpot like everything else. It was 7 feet long.
I do have experience with snakes where screaming of the maid woke me up to find a snake in the washing machine. It was having its lunch on a nest of rats.
This time I actually saw a cat escaping from the cage when I opened the back door and he heard me coming. This was in the initial phase when the pen was not ready yet and the chicks were really small.

I think this is the first TV article I have ever read that, not only does not knock the Thais and their way of life, but actually most admit it is a lot cleaner and more civilized to use a bum gun.
I stopped using toilet paper years ago and it is one aspect of going back to UK that i find primitive.
True that! This way we also don't have to worry about anal bleaching! Not that I worry... I actually never worry.
-
Let them roam free during the day.
Keep them inside a snake/cat proof pen at night.
Everyone's a winner
That's exactly what I do right now. Around 6 PM they are close to the pen anyway, so it is fairly easy to get them inside.

Are ther different variety of chickens ?
Only 1 kind... bought at the market. No clue about type.
-
My first chickens either drowned or were eaten by cats. No idea how they got in but they did!
Mid September I bought 12 new ones and so far only 1 died because she got sick.
My cage is now well protected so they can't escape and no cat can get in.
They really want to get out of the cage and since last Saturday at the age of 5 weeks, they walk freely in the garden till sunset.
At night I lock them up and in the morning they go out again.
The question is, how old do they need to be in order to let them out 24/7 without being eaten by cats?

I came to this thought when I made my daily delivery this morning. The spray gun was doing its usual and thorough job and then I realized it has been a while since I used toilet paper. In the beginning I used paper to dry it all up, but lately I just use a towel.
The important thing is that the water pressure is right. I remember my old folks bringing one back to Europe and I tried it last summer. The difference is that in Europe the water pressure is about 2 bar so I found myself coughing up my an-us . It bloody HURTS!! In Thailand the pressure is just right so it doesn't only clean but also cools you down after the curries give you this burning sensation.
To proof my method, just put some peanut butter on your skin (no, not your an-us but your arm or so) and try to clean it with toilet paper. You won't get it clean unless you use 6 meter of the white stuff. With a spray gun it is just point and shoot and all your problems disappear.
What about you guys? You still use toilet paper?- 4

Let me guess.....you sell the discs or the hand pieces? ? ;-)
I stay away from those machines as far as I can as they drive me nuts!
-
Thai craftsmanship is amazing. Next door they are building a new house and it looks like they are building the whole house with only ONE tool, the disc-cutter.
It doesn't matter if it is tiles or bricks, the disc-cutter comes in. I also switch of my music because I love this sound and usually they use it the whole day.
I am waiting for an extension to the tool so they can paint with it as well and even create their Somtam with it.
Lucky for me they start another project next door AFTER this one is completed. If they were working simultaneously I would really miss out!- 2
