She works with autistic children in the Netherlands and had just completed 3 months of volunteer work with severely handicapped children in Mai Chau, Vietnam. That's her!Does she visit inmates in Holland? Go and visit one of the children's homes instead and give them some toys and sweets instead of seeing some bitch that's probably been locked up for dealing crystal meth.
Whatever her reasons may be, just don't be quick to assumed.
I posted a question and expected a helpful reply but not unsolicited comments from armchair pundits!
Thanks, nonetheless!

When I was growing up there was no such thing as autistic children. They were just dumb and got a good thrashing off the teacher instead of being filled full of Ritalin, but I guess it gives someone a job. Labeling a kid autistic brands him for the rest of his life. About 90% of women in prison in Thailand are there for selling meth. They are scum and deserve everything they get. I have seen families completely destroyed by this shit.
I am sorry you were treated as a dumb p**** growing up (or did you grow up). I know you were speaking from experiences!
It explains your incapacity to differentiate between someone asking a question as opposed to asking for an opinion.

No, and Poipet is a serious hellhole you would nto want to hang out in. Its only attraction is for gamblers.
If you must stay there, rooms in the Casino hotels run about 1,000 baht. There are cheap guesthouses, of course, but these are frequented by really serious lowlife. The term "den of iniquity" could have been coined with Poipet in mind.,
Wait at least until Sisophon which is less than an hour away. No great shakes there either but safer and less objectionable.
Most people if heading to Phnom Penh and wanting to overnight on the way would opt for Battambang where there is lots to choose from.
Noted! Thanks for the advice

Ban Phu Nam Ron, Kanchanaburi
I used these guys one time. NEVER again.
Can I please ask why ? I also dislike them. Please PM me if you don't want to share it publicly.
I have used both aforementioned services and both get the job done, but I dislike them both for different reasons. I am looking for another alternative that hopefully will be better. Any suggestions would be greatfully accepted. Thank you.
A big thank you to all of you guys from myself and especially from my friend who will be doing his visa run tomorrow.
After going through all the recommendations and checking with the various Visa run operators he had almost made up his mind on which one to take.
Then we met a Japanese expat who has been living here in Bangkok for 10 years and he told us that for the past 2 years he had been using one mode of transport for his visa run via a minivan for all of 500 baht.
He gave us directions to the place (next to Pantip Plaza Ngam Wong Wan). My friend and I are going there now to check it out and if all goes well, I just might go along with my friend to experience it.
Will keep you guys posted!

Just got stopped at a police road block while on my way back about an hour ago from Saphan Phud night market near Memorial bridge.
My car was thoroughly checked and a friend of mine has only a copy of her Netherlands passport with her. It seems that it was not acceptable to the police. Though we were let off, they gave us a stern warning that we should have our passport in our persons at all times.

This is the company I've used a few times. Leave BKK 0500 usually back around 1500.
Poi Pet isn't as bad as some say, usually fairly quick using the agent.

Thank you, Todd! That's a useful link you sent me. Any idea how to get to Sukhumvit Soi 12 that early? I am unsure if there are taxis in my area during that time. I'm at Bang Sue btw

He did not get a visa on arrival he got visa exempt entry which is 30 days by air or 15 days by land.
There are some companies that start the border run earlier. But I know of none that can do it in less time.
He could fly out and back and get a 30 day entry.
Thanks. Yes, he's indeed from a Visa exempted country.

Greetings guys,
I would like to seek advice for a friend of mine who is due for his second visa run.
He first came to Thailand and was granted a 30 day visa on arrival. The day it expires he made a visa run to Cambodia through a visa run service operator near Ekkamai BTS station.
He left at 9.30am from Ekkamai and back in Bangkok at 8.30pm. He was given another 15 days visa and due to expire this Sunday the 20th of April.
His flight out of Bangkok for home is on the 2nd of May thus he need to do another run and the fastest one. Can anyone advice, please?
Thank you.

I would recommend Vietnam if your primary concerns are making good money and also have a good time.
Just came back from China to visit friends who teaches in schools and universities there. In terms of cost of living what you are offered is not much for a quality lifestyle of your choice.
However, a friend of mine who teaches in a university in Hainan makes less than what you were offered but the lodgings that was provided for him is really something. A whole 3 bedroom apartment with a rooftop garden to boot. Simply beautiful on the island but nothing much in terms of entertaiment.
Vietnam definitely pays way better and the cost of living is lower than China. The girls are much much prettier and friendly.
One friend just relocated to teach in Hanoi. He is paid US15 an hour and he works only 4 hrs a day, 4 days a week and he is much happier.
Consider it!

Thanks mate! Btw, is it advisable to drive? Sorry, I should have included this question in my postingTry Silom road, saladaeng or plaza in front of central world at ratchaprasong
All three will be packed with water throwers
No, if you drive they'll miss being targeted in the breast and crotch areas and miss being groped and poked.
Hahaha...that's a good one mate! I am not going to drive then

Hi mate it's my first Songkran here too and have asked the same question. If you don't want to go to Khao San from speaking to Thais Silom is another place to go. Not sure about the driving situation but the city streets will be very crowded so probably best not to
Thanks mate!

Greetings,
Can anyone advice on where is best to experience Songkhran in Bangkok?
I have 2 friends (girls) from the Netherlands flying in tomorrow and wanted me to take them to it.
Though I live in Bangkok my experiences for Songkhran were in Chiangmai and Nongkhai for the last 6 years thus this would be my first in Bangkok, too.
Btw, we are not going to do it at Khao San for sure.
Any advice duly appreciated. Thanks!

I am living in Bangkok now and married to an Isaan girl from Nongkhai. Do have some land parcels, too.
Have been pondering on the idea of developing a guesthouse (am in the hospitality business, btw) and visa run services, perhaps.
Send me a PM with contact number and let's brainstorm over a coffee or a beer

Hahaha...good one NanLaew! I actually have nothing against homosexuality per se.
What I meant to say was, the tolerance of these nurtured behaviour by the Thais are just one of the contributing factor toward the sex trade. They are continuously providing the supply.

I agree with laurentbkk about not being fair to generalized all Russians as bad and not to put them all in the same basket. I knew a few upstanding Russians in Thailand and some of them are good friends, too.
But on the other hand, Russians on extended Visa at any resort are, at most times, not tourists at all. I was in Na Thrang, Vietnam recently and the place is now close to be a Russian town. What most of them do there? Drugs peddling to other tourist. That's what they do!
No, banning them will not not work but maybe the police can imposed something like what the Vietnamese police does. If they are on a visa extension it has to be on invitation by a local person or local owed company and they have to report themselves within 4 hours of being there to the district police, show proof of their financial capability to stay there on the extended visa and also proof of where they are staying.
Yeah, there are still loopholes but at the very least, it curtails the problems.

Good on you, Zaptail! I can totally understand your predicament. All in all, it's a 'white lie' that you had committed. Nothing serious! I don't know if 'Mr. Mole' is really a native of Thailand. Because Thais are normally unconfrontational, much less, antagonistic. Phew! That tirade of his is something out of the ordinary...haha.
Nonetheless, here's my advice:
1. Do explain in detail your predicament to the landlord.
2. Ask permission to sublet it during your absence with responsibility for damage being on you.
3. Accord the same damage clause to your sub-leasee directly to you.
4. If all of the above fails then like you have said, accept it and write it off as a loss.
Chok dee!
