  1. Sorry, here is the image of the Red Stamp.

Looks more like a white stamp to me.

First rate school employing illegal labour and skirting Thailand's tax and social insurance contributions, some first rate ethics to be teaching their students.

Good to see the visa crackdown is having it's intended effect on illegal immigrants.

Had taken down the image on second thoughts.

Duly agree with your moral judgement of the school's ethics.

Nevertheless, help sought by a friend thus help rendered without judgement passed.

Have to disagree on the last statement. Can't elaborate in this topic though.

  2. Right, whatever. The best advice for your friend is to sell her belongings and head back to wherever she came from.

Relate this cautionary tale to your friend:

    http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/725414-russian-denied-entry-at-phuket-international-airport-over-visa-crackdown/

'Honesty' in contributing to what was sought reflected sincerity and originality.

'Repetition' to the point of 'redundancy' are signs or lunacy and senility.

  3. Don't worry, everything will work out just fine. It always does. Why stress now?

Just to show I am not a armchair pundit or lab rat, but an esteemed member, I suggest you Google it.

This simply makes you civil in this forum.

It does not qualify you as an esteemed member.

I'm not stress...aha...you 'assumed' that makes an 'ass' of 'u'.

And sorry to hurt your ego, but what's with the suggestion to Google you about? Subscribe to publish an ad if you want to be a brand or to garner recognition.

Anyway, to google you? That's the last thing I'll do, btw...it's TVF not NASA Quantum Physics think tank.

Signs of your Alzheimer's setting in...you are getting lost in cyberspace, now.

I suggest, the Looney Tunes forum is rather where you belong. Google that!

  4. One possibility, if returning home is not an appealing option for her, would be to leave Thailand on her "admitted until" date... or her extended "admitted until" date and go to the neighboring country where she intends to apply for her ED visa taking all of the paperwork required for her ED visa with her.

If she has enough space in her passport for the visa to enter Laos she could wait for her new passport there. If someone else will be collecting her passport on her behalf in Bangkok that would need to be prearranged with her embassy. Most counties also requite the old passport be presented and cancelled at the time one receives the new one. That would also need to be coordinated if it is even possible at all.

I know the Canadian Embassy in Bangkok will send passports to the Australian embassy in Laos. Her country might have a similar arrangement with another country if they don't have an embassy in Laos.

With her fresh new passport in hand she could apply for her ED visa and return to Thailand. (...or am I almost completely incorrect again)?

Sound advised! Really appreciate it. With regards to your question if she's contemplating to overstay? No. She's just weighing options and if there's no recourse, she'll start packing to leave without the extension. I would proposed to her your esteemed suggestion.

    Thank You

  5. whistling.gif Well, let us just say she has a big problem.

She is the classic illegally working foreigner living in Thailand ..... the one that the "crackdown" is designed to catch and remove from country or who must get her visa and documents legalized in order to stay here.

She did just about everything wrong .... including letting her passport almost run out of pages.

It is going to be very difficult to imagine a way out of her problems from what you are saying.

    whistling.gif

I totally agree. She acknowledges that fact and am prepared should the odds be against her totally, she'll start making arrangement to ship her stuffs home.

Just with a heavy heart and hoping for a solution or the best possible option to take.

    Thanks

  6. So, I urged the likes of 'armchair pundits' and 'lab rats' to please reserved your critics. I accept candid remarks in jest as it's welcome for the sake of adding colour to the forum.

That is impossible. You and your friend will be attacked with no mercy, and from a valid position.

If you want to help your friend and save yourself useless aggravation, edit / remove your posting while you have time, and just search for "tourist visa denied". All the other information you provided is irrelevant, and will only exacerbate flaming.

By the way, the pic you posted is absolutely unreadable.

Oh well...I duly thank you for the advise.

However, I am expecting a few learned and concrete solutions from some members that would justify the flaming or the verbal assault.

I am not easily aggravated nor affected by the 'likes of those scums'.

Never taken what is not mine and never give up without a fight.

    Let it come...:D

Your point and concern is duly noted. Thank you.

  7. Esteemed members,

Though I have progressed from always seeking answers about my visa issues to providing alternative answers (special thanks to Ubonjoe).

I am still not near learned enough to be able to answer most visa related issues.

Thus, I humbly request all esteemed and learned members to offer a solution for the predicaments my friend is facing. Here are the details:

She's from Eastern Europe and had been here on multiple entry TV (2 / Twice) and had gotten the extended 30 days through border runs.

During her 3rd multiple entry TV she was given the dreaded red stamp.

She's working as a teacher in a top notch school albeit illegally.

    Yes, illegally without a permit!

So, I urged the likes of 'armchair pundits' and 'lab rats' to please reserved your critics. I accept candid remarks in jest as it's welcome for the sake of adding colour to the forum.

    That said, her current predicaments are;

    1. She's nearing the end of 60 days on the 3rd TV and due for extension in 2 weeks.

    2. She had applied for an ED at a bonafide and approved school. However, since she hasn't enough pages left on her passport, she was told to apply for a new one where the ED can be inserted.

    3. She had done as advised and awaiting the new one sometime between late September to early October.

    4. The collection date of the new passport exceeded the 30 days extension even if she was given one.

    Now she's in a dilemma.

    1. Will she be given the 30 days extension by crossing the border?

    2. Will she be given denied extension and entry due to the red stamped on her passport?

    3. Should she apply for the extension at Chaeng Wattana immigration office?

    4. Would it help if she get a letter from her consulate about her tentative date of issue for the new passport and brought it with her when applying for the extension?

I had tried hooking her up with the same organisation that got me my volunteer's (WP) but she was dropped like a hot potato.

Thus I implore your guidance and information.

    Thank you!

  8. I swear, you guys just don't get it. How about going back to your home country and explore "volunteer" options there instead? Thailand doesn't need you.

Are you there? I hope everything's fine. You didn't suffer a stroke did you??

All those hate would kill you. I am concerned if you would end up found decomposed in your room while TVF is on your screen still flickering...

  9. No, you are wrong. The ED visa is of no consequence to the economy.

    Goodness! You simply amazed me.

Not only are you a pessimistic pundit who has to opined on a subject matter like he's the AVATAR of knowledge and experience.

You are a strategist and form assumptions like a seasoned economist, as well. Wow!

But it doesn't stop there. Your take on the General's decisions makes you a political scientist, too.

I am waiting for more, you are highly entertaining :)

  10. Hi....hope my questions get noticed after 12 pages of comments. Oh well, anyway. if any one can advise on my situation, would be much appreciated to help relieve stress!

I stay in Thailand in between my work contracts overseas on ships (all documented and signed as proof for immigration).

I usually work 2 - 3 months overseas and return to Thailand for a 1 month break on usual Tourist visa (NOT WORKING) or a 3 month break on Multi-entry tourist visa.

I pay for a room here even when I'm overseas working and it's here when I get back with a lot of my belongings in it. I enjoy Thai culture so much and staying here in my break and would like to look at longer term down the track E.g, B visa, Ed visa etc. But for now I have work contracts the same as above booked until March next year.

Yes, even though I have proof showing I'm not working in Thai and just having my breaks here(max 3 months), I am really concerned that I might not get back in with all the crackdowns. Maybe my current system of staying here will be denied.....sad

    P

I was almost in the same situation you are in now. Not illegal but not illegal either.

I am here to research and eventually, make a decision if to call Thailand home.

Apart from the many 'armchair pundits' and 'lab rats' who are either passing remarks from their 'moral high horses', or from 'dinghy apartments'. I would rather give an option, if not the most perfect solution.

Sorry, for my digressions. Anyway, like you albeit with different circumstances. I for years have been those "pointed" out as those that contributed to these recent 'crackdown'. In other words, had been doing all those border runs and TV's just so I can be here.

I do not need to work nor interested to run a business here. Enough to show that I do not have to work another day in my life. But still, according to the letter of the law I am abusing the system. Agreed!

Had been relying on advises from the likes of the esteemed Ubonjoe to circumnavigate my at times distressing situation.

I am 4 years short of being able to be on Non-(OA) to safely be retired. Thus when I was made aware of the option of taking up the Elite Visa, I had already made a decision to so it.

Then I met a friend who has been volunteering here for the pass 5 years and on a valid visa. I couldn't do that but nonetheless, there's another option.

Options to choose from are always good, you agree. I made queries and visited some organisations and finally, got one that offers a (WP) for "full time" volunteering rendering myself as their account administrator for work that I can get done just punching numbers into a spreadsheet for 1 hr at home.

But in order to get this I have to somehow pay to grease some wheels. I was accused of supporting corruption in this forum by those 2 species of 'lowlife beings' that I had mentioned earlier.

But who cares! I got what I need and doing my part as a volunteer. My conscience are clear.

Thus, explore the 'Volunteer' option route as an alternative. You might have something to contribute from your experiences or skill sets that could benefit them.

I am sure there's something for you. Recently, at the place I volunteered, an American boy I met was designated to tabulate 'every day' affairs into a magazine for the year end issues that will be distributed to our benefactors and sponsors. He's on a journalist pass for a year. There's always an option, just ignore the pundits and the rats.

Just Google what you need to search for or PM me if you want.

    Cheers

  11. I think I'm as close as you can get for a having a visa as such required by the OP.

I am now a Non-O (Full Time) + WP (Volunteering) + Extended yearly extension visa. And I work an hour a week, online.

Didn't know it existed, till recently.

Checked my earlier post relating to how I got it.

But as a volunteer you dont actually get paid for your online efforts, right ? I mean its fantastic that you got the WP but it may not be precisely what some here are intent on sorting out.

Obviously! Thus, the operative word I used was "CLOSE".

NGO's here in fact, charged fees (call it what they may: administrative, service, cost..etc.) to volunteer in Thailand.

What everyone's trying to sort out now is, "How To Remain Here Legally"? In whatever ways they deemed feasible within the letter of the law.

Some saw corruption in the means of getting it, other's saw it as greasing wheels, I saw it as for Services Rendered.

A spade is a spade, agreed. Read between the lines of all the queries here. What it tells you? Enough said.

  12. Greetings,

I am a Singapore national and would want to register a Social Enterprise relating to Agriculture in Thailand.

I could not find any website or contact address to register it. Found TSEO through Google search but the link has been suspended.

Please assist me with the address and if possible the criteria of registration.

    Thank you.

  13. No -- but some in Pathum Thani who might read your post might not exactly be thrilled as to the detail you felt necessary to provide on their operations.

Your point noted. However, please let me explain:

In the course of my application, I was made aware of the fact (unbeknownst to me at that time) that people pay to volunteer.

I do not support corruption per se, but as far as I can, I avoided it.

Thus when I was being pointed out as supporting corruption, I answered 'guilty' more to appeased rather then go into relentless diatribe over differing opinions and perspectives.

Hypothetically, they could have made me pay them the 40,000 baht for wanting to volunteer with their organisation. It could be called 'Volunteer Fees'. But they did not and instead arrange for me to meet with the person delegated to handle the paperworks.

To cut it short, I posted what had transpired in all essence of the truth. It's how it was done, in my case. I do not propagate corruption nor would I ever stop from speaking or relating the truth as I experienced it.

  14. Next time the OP or someone else might consider a Post #1 more like this :

I was able to secure a Non-IMM 'O', a Work Permit, and a one-year extension of stay based upon my volunteering for a (bona fide) NGO.

    All the rest was extraneous.

I am sorry but should anybody submit their written analogues and have it run by you for editing and approval before posting?

    Would that make you happy?

I would be glad to if you are officially appointed.

  15. thx, but, I was hoping to hear from someone who was 'successful' doing part-time volunteering above board. maybe, it's very rare

I was successful and had just posted it in TV. But I'm not sure if 'long term' by your definition are continued extensions or just 1 year.

My friend had hers for 4 years but she's disqualified in this topic as she did it full time.

I am just starting my first week.

  16. So you supported corruption in the process, so it would seem.

There is no direct proof of that in the OP's post. He may of paid some money for fees to cover the work permit application and etc.

Since he is actually doing some work for the organization it would be considered legit.

Thank you, Joe! In fact, I saw it as payments for the paperworks process though it was not transparent.
