This could have been extremely hazardous if there had been any problems with the dive and they needed the boat urgently. Luckily the divers hitched a ride home.
Yes, the 'captain' of the boat should face charges. He3 should have his name bandied about with everyone so he is never ever used again and feels the loss where it hurts him most - in the pockt.
Are there not international rules covering this sort of thing, at the very least?
I also see this has made international news and can do nothing but harm to the dive and tourist industry.
Yes, a complete a-hole for abandoning the divers.
As an aside, did not one of the divers have a waterproof mobile phone with them? Accidents happen and a phone could be very useful in these circumstances.

OP - we eat cheap women?
What do we do, roast them on a spit and cover them with chili sauce before we sink our teeth into their tender, browned flesh?
Or are you referring to oral sex? But surely that is not physically eating a woman?

"Ms Juthaporn said the TAT has invited travel agents specialising in the honeymoon market from the Americas to visit honeymoon destinations in Thailand such as Phuket and Koh Samui."
"Y'all gotta tra Pooket, them Thais sure have some classy beaches"

Sweeps 3 times a day inside. Twice a day outside. Never any grease or marks where we cook. The scrubbing brush I hear clattering along the tiles in the bathroom. 5 minutes after I am out of bed (after she makes me my first coffee) she is in there too, making the bed and tidying up. I often get told of for washing up until I insist on doing something to help out.
Yes, from a farm in Issan but she knows how to clean.

I wonder what the copper is singing holding the mike?
Next, the perps get to sing, 'We gotta get out of this place, if it's the last thing we ever do.' The Animals.
They could have a right old sing song (Karaoke night)

I took a stroll late yesterday afternoon. Wrapped in my leather jacket against the cold wind. The same cold wind blowing the cobwebs from my bald head, I looked at the leaves falling from the trees and being blown about the streets. Watched as the wintry sun began to set beyond the horizon.
No mad m/c riders buzzing me. I did not have to dodge traffic every step across the road. No smoke from stalls lining every sreet. It was a very relaxing stroll. Enjoyable & different. And that is the whole point, it was relaxing and different.
This does not mean I do not miss Thailand, I do. But, the weather is different and can make a great change.

One persons cheeky remark can be an insult. Maybe you were being obnoxious to the point where you would not shut up so the guy decided to shut you up?
Go to the cops? You cannot really remember what you said or did. What are you going to tell the police? Others will remember you as being drunk. The police will then groan loudly at another drunken foreigner getting into trouble and do nothing.
Learn your lesson and realise what you think is cheeky, humour may be an insult to someone else.
As said in other posts never get drunk here alone.

It is quite cool here in the UK at present and I am actually enjoying it. The air seems fresher. The pace of life seems more relaxed. Yes it gets darker a bit earlier but that also makes a pleasurable change. If it gets cold I turn on the central heating, in the same way I turn on the air-con in Thailand when it gets too hot.
Each to their own.
The seasons change. The autumn leaves are a wonderful array of colour. Snow on the ground makes it seem fresh (until it turns to sludge
). Variety !!
Sometimes that is better than blazing hot sun each day with sweat dripping from your every orifice

Same in the UK. Living together is not a problem in the majority of cases.
If two people are happy with the way things are, then so be it.
My g/f's family understand we live and sleep together in the same house / condo and they have no problems with it. In fact they are very happy I'll be back next month and they know we will be sleeping at the same hotel together near the family home for the first few days.
Her mother tells her daughter she wants her to be happy. No pressure to have to get married. Obviously not all parents are the same.

I'd say, "I've just booked a room there today so will see the pair of you and we can go and have a beer together."
Personally? I'd rather know than not know. If a friend or colleague told me and I already knew what was happening, I'd say so and thank him for being a friend in telling me.

It sounds like a pre-planned operation too. She most likely knew what the finance company needed and what they wanted to hear. Quite possibly that is why she took the keys.
Many a devious person out there

I've come through Swampy two dozen times and to this day I have not seen a customs official. I always arrive at 1am, which probably has something to do with it.
Meat pies are my nemesis and I bring more each time I come. Case was 20% meat product last time I arrived.
Now the Thai customs are looking for an emoticon riding through customs on a motorbike at 01-00 hours so they can levy a BIG fine for past demeanours

Welcome.
By the way, with a name like wizoo, you should pop into the toilet thread in general topics. Sounds like you'd be a 'wizz' in there

A blood test could help sort out if he was on meds or not though it may not be conclusive.
Breath tested so he was not drunk.
Way too many variables to predict the reason for this, yet he gets slagged off on here for driving under the influence of drugs. Whatever the reason, he certainly caused a lot of carnage in his motor and death and injury. That is sad.

Another toilet thread!
yes there should be toilet/excrements sub forum.
A sub-forum is not big enough, there being many categories, and new ones being created every week (this week it was double-folding; tapeworms and stool samples; so constipated I can use both my smart phone, and my iPad in the toilet …)
A whole website is required: www.TV. com
Toilet Visa.

Surely many of you old folk must remember L.O.N.D.O.N. and S.W.A.L.K. amongst many other abbreviations that were in use before the iternet was even thought of?
AFAIK Any decent search engine will do and they every bit as good as the G one

My GF would have gotten up and walked out, without a word.
Not to mention, the OP has no idea what the conversation was really about.
Only what his gf told him, and let's face it, she wants the house 100% paid for and in her name.
For all the OP knows they might have been talking about the latest pop songs.
This is a good point.
The OP has relied on his g/f to do the translating and he has no real idea what was being said. Not that I am doubting the honesty and integrity of the g/f because I (we) do not know her. Yet, to be taking steps to buy a house and have no idea or only the g/f's account of what was being discussed seems crazy.
That is also how many foreigners get ripped off - by not using an independant translator.

And how many good relationships do friends of your Thai wife have? Or are they all battered beaten and bruised physically and or mentally?
Seems odd that 4/4 are so badly treated.
