A recent report highlighted the apparent long-standing use of amoxicillin injection into orange trees three to four times a year, to treat Citrus greening disease –

Pharmacist Supanai Prasertsuk said: Although there was no research to confirm antibiotic contamination from the use in orange orchards, he said the sensible precaution was to stop such use.

Looks like my mental capacity is incompatible to understand the Thai interpretation of precaution. I learned it's too late for precaution after the kid drowned in the well. But maybe there is a Thai word for post-caution.

  2. China invested about $ 300 billion in Africa between 2005 and 2018 alone. With Chinese money, infrastructure projects such as railway lines and airports are being built in countries such as Ethiopia, Kenya and Burkina Faso. But the African countries pay a high price for it ...
Because the Chinese government wants to make not only their profits with their billions, but also gain political influence - and with some unscrupulous means.

Almost all of these pictures could be shown on the 500.000 food stalls burning tons of charcoal every day in Bangkok, on public buses, 2 stroke motorcycles, at the entrance of backyard factories, tug boats, and ferries, glyphosate container, asbestos panels, etc.etc.

Or is this crackpot idea just an attempt in support of family members of a minister who happen to run a printing company?

Sometimes the logic in this country is mind boggling. If the sole reason for phasing out current cigarette packaging is that "smokers and non-smokers alike" have familiar with it, would it be too far-fetched for the minister to assume that plain packaging eventually also will become familiar, thus losing its effectiveness just as much as current packaging? So what sort of packaging is he going to introduce in another five years? In my opinion, smokers don't really care whether their cigarettes come in brightly colored packaging, plain packaging, or, for that matter, in a brown paper bag as long as they can be smoked.

But you are aware of how one becomes a minister here, are you?

It was only a matter of time. Here is a link to a letter I wrote to Samui Times on this very subject last year, The boats are a joke !

The Marine tourist police did reply to my letter, saying that they would improve standards .... but nothing changed.

to ensure they all had proper licences and adhere to safety measures.

And while you're at it deputy provincial governor Khomsan Suwan-ampa, check the unlicensed clinics, pharmacies, entertainment venues, hotels, lotteries and don't forget the licenses for dart boards. However, maybe that's too much to ask for in a country under an 'unlicensed government'.
