I got married in Thailand in 2016. i also registered the marriage in Sweden, and in 2019 we moved there. But the marriage ended in 2020, and we divorced in Sweden. My ex-wife is still in Sweden and have not been in Thailand since entering Sweden in 2019. I have been looking for information about how to get the divorce registered in thailand too, but it's very confusing with conflicting information from various parties, the information from the Thai embassy in Sweden and the information from the swedish embassy in Thailand is conflicting, so I don't really know what to do. The thing is: I have a new girlfriend in thailand and have a one year extension based on 800,000 baht in the bank. And in case I pass away I would like my girlfriend to inherit everything I have, not my exwife. Is it possible to solve this problem simply by registering a will in Thailand with my girlfriend as sole heir ? Or am I forced to find a way through this jungle of requirements, so I can get the divorce registered in Thailand ? I can add, that it is not likely that my exwife will go to Thailand anytime soon, it could be years before she eventually goes there. Anyway my girlfriend and I don't plan to marry other than a buddha ceremony at her home, so I just want to be sure who inherits me.

So I went to Immigration today to find out, if I could get the visa. Normally I never go to immigration on mondays, too many people for my liking, but today I had to go. And yes, I got the 3 month Non "O" based on retirement, the stamp showed the visa was issued on 30. January, so I am admitted until the end of April. So in the beginning of April I will apply for the one-year extension. Thanks to DrJack and blueeyes

I appreciate the answer and hope, that you are right. The worry is because, in theory they could reject my application, but maybe that does not often happen.......... Of course I brought a letter from the bank stating that I have more than 800,000 baht in my account, so no reason really for them not to grant the visa, I guess......

Hi all, I arrived on December 2nd 2022 on a 45 days exempt. I was planning to apply for a 3-month Non-imm "O" visa, but I missed to apply within 15 days before the end of the 45 days, so I had to pay for extra 30 days, which gave me permissinon to stay until February 14th. On the 20. January I applied for the 3-month Non-imm "O" visa [Retirement] at immigration in Khon Kaen. I thought, that Immigration could give me that visa the same day I applied, but instead I got a stamp on the backside of the receipt saying "application of stay is under consideration, applicant must contact immigration office again in person on 11. February" Ok, I payed the 2,000 baht fee and the officer asked for another 100 baht for "coffee", so 2,100 baht I just checked the date when I was back home and found out, that the 11. february is a saturday, and I think Immigration does not work on saturdays ! So today I asked my girlfriend to call Immigration to ask, if I could go on the day before, also considering, that my 30 days run out on the 14. February, so I wont have much time to leave Thailand, if for any reason my application is rejected ! According to my girlfriend he told her, that: "I could only go to immigration after 11. February and there is no late fine for foreigners", whatever that means. I am wondering: Is it normal, that such an aplication is "under consideration" ? I am a bit worried, that the decision is so close to the last day, I am allowed to stay here, so any advice is appreciated.

Hi all, I am considering buying a new pickup, specifically one of the two brands mentioned in the headline. Has anyone else had the same thoughts and what result did you end up with and why ? I am interested in the top specification models, however I only want 2-wheel drive. Last week I test drove the Ford Ranger Wildtrak, and I really liked it. But I am a bit worried about Ford Thailand regarding their service to customers. I haven't yet found a Toyota dealer here in Khon Kaen, that offers a test drive in the Hilux.

Hi all, I just heard this today, and I really hope, it is just a rumour and not true..... A foreigner here in Khon Kaen told me today, that Immigration from now on demands, that you are insured during your entire stay in Thailand on a Non-Imm "O" visa, and also later, if you stay on a one year extension based on retirement. I don't really believe it, but since I just arrived in Thailand and am about to apply for a 3-month non"O" and after that extension for one year, I would like to ask, if anyone else have heard about this ?

Yes, I read what you wrote, but I don't like to be guessing. But I suppose, the "ME" stands for multiple entry ? And can you tell me, where to get such a visa ? This acquaintance, that I am referring to, is based in Sweden, and the thai embassy there directs you to the E-visa page, I linked to earlier. Can you find "your" visa there ?

Well, if it exists, I think, it is called something else. On the official website regarding E-visa I think, they call it a Long Stay Visa, but there is no mentioning of it being a multiple entry visa. https://thaievisa.go.th/

An acquaintance claims, that he has just received a Non-immigrant "O" Multiple entry visa 90 days for Thailand. Does such a visa really exist ? I thought, that a non-immigrant "O" were always single entry.

If one arrives visa exempt, what requirements must be met to get the extra 30 days ?
