It's been said many times here before it depends on anyone's lifestyle but i bet almost nobody who has lived in Thailand would rather to live let's say around 20 to 30 of his last years in a place like UK than being living in Thailand

Once few months ago I've been witness of a robbery in sukumvit 71 when I was going home, two thai guys riding a motorbike stopped near to a women who was walking in the sidewalk near to the road, one of them did snach her neckless and they fled away with the motorbike very quickly.

I was two meters away and I could see it perfectly. The victim was thai too, they were a thai couple. The guy who was with the victim started to shout them and tried to catch them, he started running but he couldn't catch them because they run away faster with the motorbike.

Then the guy stopped one motorbike taxi driver and ask to follow the robbers. I didn't see more but I guess if that guy could reached them it probably would be messy and bloddy too.

Land of Smiles?

So you expect a huge city to be crime free? Very naive if you do. Bangkok and other Thai towns and cities are no different to other places. People need to get real!

I have always heard and thought that sense of humor it's related to intelligence, sense of humor real not soap operas or what it's mostly played in thai tv

Why does it say date of expiry two times?

Someone with same passport let us know if Date of Expiry is listed twice on yours.

The passport is valid for 10 years. re-read it.

you have to read it again

if were like you say it should say date of issue up and date of expiry bellow but it says date of expiry in both dates, so it's a mistake.

What it's to be discobered here is if it's an embassy mistake or some Passport's fakemaker mistake

it's not big money but can be enough for living if you stay away from bars and money girls.

The question is, do you have a better option?

if the answer is not I recomend you to take it, just as a experience it definetely will worth. Thailand and specially Bangkok it's a funny place to live and you can enjoy and learn a lot.

There are a lot of folks who despite this offer, well they probably have better choices but not everybody it's as lucky.

I have no objection to life style choices. Gay, straight or whatever. I do have concern however when you deviate out of your lifestyle choice. If the gay way of life produces off spring then hey congrats. However a gay coupleseeking surrogacy is a tad bit hypocrital to me. You choose a gay lifestyle but yearn the outcome of a straight lifestyle. If you do have money and feel the need for a child, then adopt. There are so many orphans in this world.

Except nobody chooses to be gay. Why the hell would somebody choose to live a life if constant discrimination and regular threats of violence? Do you think you could suddenly choose to be sexually attracted to the same sex if you wanted to? I don't think so. Same goes the other way. How you feel about the sex with the same sex is how gays feel about sex with the opposite sex. It's pretty simple!

they didn't choose to be gay, but they did certainly choose to conceive a kid two people of the same sex, which it's imposible thing to make, so they had to rent a women's belly to conceive their kid, which it's the only way they could have their dream come truth, using a women to do what, because they cannot, they are not capable by themselves.

And it's this what was it exposed and criticized here. Just that.

Same as infertile straight couples which employ surrogates. Nothing to expose.

you miss one point here buddy, if the straight couple were not infertile they would be capable to conceive a kid by themselves nor a couple of gays even if they are fertile

Whats there to expose? All consenting adults, in it for whatever reasons, The women for the money and the males for a genetic offspring. Thats their choise, because it doesnt fall into others limited veiw or conform to their lifestyle, doesnt imo make a very strong arguemnt a more constructive and benefical approach would be to examine and broaden your view and lifestyle rather than critise others for theirs and their choises

the trap and the dissapointment will come later, when you will realise you will have to gonna pay sinsod to can marry her, otherwise their parents will discart you and they will wait for a richier one, doesn't matter if he looks like the grandfather of the girl or is older than her father.

But you will not be dissapointed with your greedy and ugly inlaws you will be very dissapointed with her because she will agree with that because it's their culture, and it is indeed, the girls sacrify themselves to can provide good life to their parents, it's difficult to understand for someone educated on western culture but for them it's normal

I think they do, but they generally dont come with a sick buffalo and an extended family of 20 people who all want to live in your garage.

Maybe its best you dont understand what they are saying about you sometimes. I can understand about 35% of it and can tell you they can very rude in front of you. I have learnt to let it go as u feel thais have a far more inferior society. A friend used to call them savages. I believe they are still in the fuedal ages.

To tell the truth you don't even need to understand thai to nocite their contempt upon foreigners

they're probably convinced that they belong to this land, that's why they feel offended by other foreigners (of their own nationality perhaps) who appoint the things that dislike them

After getting married, it took three years to get my wife a visa to get into the states.

The best I could do was thirty day visits.

Close to tears every time I had to leave Thailand..

We got her to the states and after six years we relocated here in Thailand.

I have not left the country since!

though I am agree with you that not everyone has to have the same needs and that it's up to everyone the way we deceide or needs our limitations about how to live our lives

but we can't forget that even if your wishes and material status desires are not too high, as to expect to own yachts or houses in Monaco, we are living in a materialist place called world where you can't live without material things, and for every single thing you need or want you'll have to pay for it

Moreover also I've never meet any woman in thailand yet, that would be happy staying with me forever if I just had a second hand bicycle and 100 thb in my pocket, neither in the west

Don't wanna even mention if you get to your 60s or 70s without having a secured pension plan to can live peaceful

one thing I've never understood in here is why mostly foreigners are listless with other westerners living in thailand

I'm not gonna say that you have to be best friend with all foreigners you see but neither dodge over and over again that guy you meet everyday in the same soi

I just don't have a lot of support here in Thailand. My family and friends can't relate. Most still think Thailand is a 3rd world country, and most people live in mud huts. I kid you not.

thailand IT IS a 3rd world country if you have not regular income or endless savings, and much worse for foreigners

I understand you're doubting because it may be nice to live here than living in a western country, but you must do your math and try to figure out what are you going to do when you get old

If you think with 35k bath a month you can manage to pile up enough savings for your elder years then I would say you go ahead

However, I know it can sound little egoist but you have to think in yourself first, girlfriends may come and go easyly here ore everywhere else in the world

But even in the best of the scenarios if gf stays then you must look further and start adding some few more ?.....00K to your numbers to have your gf's family happy, also if you get marry you will have to prove to the govt that you can support her to can obtain your marriage visa

if contrarily to all of this you don't see it clear would be better to think more in the economical part and try to get your contribution pension payments before you get to old to procure yourself a good retire payment

sometimes life is so easy but we complicate it, also some people it's like mesmerized with this country

my vision of thailand --- good place to live if you have lots of money, like everywhere else indeed

but the most important council I dare to give you is that whatever you deceide carry on with it and believe on it otherwise it won't works, because as you told before all of us we use to leave our homelands are often not understood by many of our friends or family

is not the same to have an american wife or a thai wife, if you deceide to have a thai wife later after the past of the years don't complain about it, you must be concious of what are you going to do, diffent culture, different lifestyle, etc..

you can always get divorce if does not works but what I mean is if you ever regret few years later it should not be for something you could be aware of it before, I mean there is a lot of information now to can learn about things without having to live it

I remember having had this feeling every last day of my vacation trips, reviewing all your experiences in the cold seat of the airport it's almost the hardest part of the trip, especially if you travel alone.

I said you were thinking that it's gonna be the worst part....

....until.... in the plane few hours later when your eyelids fall down because you're exhausted.... bud oh good.... is then when you realise that you will be having 3 restless brats jumping and beating your seat all trip back, and what's worse without seeing their parents do nothing to stop their noisy and anoying sibblings
