  1. Thailand is now on the red list as far as the UK is concerned so you don’t really have a problem at the moment as your girlfriend will be unable to enter the UK until Thailand comes off the red list. There are apparently going to be some announcements today and it may be that Thailand does come off that list but at the moment she would not be able to come in. As and when Thailand comes off the red list then I think you will have to take charge of any future application yourself and make sure that all the points that have been discussed on this thread are addressed fully. Normally it is the reasons to return to Thailand which are the number one issue but in this case there is also the issue of not being honest in the application and that may take some getting around. Contrary to what one or two other posts have suggested the ECO will look at the facts of the application and judge it on that basis. There is no agenda in the UK to restrict entry from anyone be it for a visit or for settlement who fulfils all the criteria required.

How many times can the test be taken and failed before LTR is refused and you have to leave the UK?

There is no actual limit to the number of times that the test can be taken as it is only required for citizenship or ILR. If someone has FLR and really cannot pass the test then they can,I believe, simply apply for another FLR Visa.An expensive way to go obviously but at least could still stay in the UK.

hastings battle a single date so just memory. stonehenge built in phases between 2800bc and 2200 bc, might be just memorizing date range ?

history vital to citizenship so the basics must be learned but evolution of democracy and western ideas is important not dates ….thats what gets history its bad rep. as easy or boring…….

I went through all the practice sessions with my Thai wife when she was studying for the life in the UK test and it is basically just a pub quiz. There is nothing in terms of learning about the evolution of democracy and western ideas. It is simply a memory test  and my wife had to learn the answers to 384 questions to take the test. The test is 24 questions and the applicant has to get 18 correct. So there is a huge amount of work for I suspect very little return.

but this only applies if you fly direct to UK ?

if you do a 10 day stopover in an acceptable country, then there is no need to quarantine ?

And some  other countries accept the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines , some with double dose, some with single dose ?

Yes, of course, you can do it that way. I was talking about coming to the UK direct with 2 doses from Thailand.

  5. Yes I can confirm that that is the procedure now. My wife took the test last year and failed but took it again one week later and passed. Like your wife she had no idea how well she had done the first time. Whatever the reason for failing however it is just a question of practice practice and more practice. Having a good memory helps as well.

  6. Yes it is. Having said that I think the main problem you will have with the visitor Visa is convincing UKVI that she will return to Thailand at the end of her trip. Your situation might make it appear to them that the visitor Visa is being used to enable her to stay in the UK. So you will have to make the application very clear and very strong in terms of the reasons for her to return to Thailand at the end of the trip.

  7. Looking at the grounds for rejection it looks like the application fell foul of   b 3-5 of the required criteria. Accounts were unaudited so needed an accountant confirmation they were correct and also 12 months of company bank statements. I might have missed something but that is what it looks like to me. Where they require supporting information they need all of it or an explanation of why it cannot be provided.
