  1. People like you will always find something to complain about no matter where you are; in fact if the beach was was clean and quiet, you would most likely not enjoy it. I feel sorry for your neighbours; if they haven't moved on already.

  2. The bottled beers are bad enough over here and I would suggest not to bother with draught at all considering the bacteria that may develop in pipes that are not properly maintained. However, the establishments managed by westerners probably do maintain their systems.

  3. Generally, loud people are considered to be in the posession of only a few brain cells, whereas the quiter folk are considered to have received a better education. I work with a very loud boss (Thai lady) who shouts at her employees. This is a sure sign of weakness and poor management skills. Take note when dating, why get hooked up with a noisy lady in the first place?

  4. Lotus Macau channel shows movie blockbusters. There is often a gap between movies of approx. 20-30 minutes of Chinese TV. But other than that it is great for the movies. I have been able to view this channel in Bang Saray for the last 4 months. Plus, now they are showing live EPL games via CTH for free on Bang saray cable. Happy days............while it lasts.

  5. Just spent a week in Bangkok with my daughter, and there is much more to offer for kids than Pattaya ever will have. Dreamworld, Siam Park and Kidzania (Siam Paragon) are fantastic and keep the kids happy all day long. Kidzania is a must if you have not been before; all for under 700 baht from 10am to 5pm; the kids are under strict supervision and you can go off and do whatever you want without worrying about them. Just google it and they will want to go.

The Cartoon Network Park will surely enough reduce the prices dramatically otherwise the investment will not be worthwhile. It may take a while but it has to happen.

  6. At these prices my kids will be disappointed as they have been loloking forward to the opening. I might take them once but I was initially planning on every other weekend, not now :-(

Perhaps the original financial plan was to expect new visitors each day, but that will not last for long and I do not expect these prices to be maintained either. Give it a year or so and a day pass should be no more than 400-500 baht :-)

  7. They spend millions constructing this place but nothing spent for the ensuing problems i.e. returning to Pattaya using the U-turn and crossing the Sukhumvit to get into the park. Shameless.

  8. You said it "nightmare". This will continue until somebody loses a life and they will consider a better option. Similar to "the pot hole in the road" scenario...............leave it until someone dies and then fill it temporarily.

  9. The car park is defintley on the opposite side of the Sukhumvit; there is a sign indicating parking and the U-turn ahead for returning to Pattaya. However, there is no indication as to how people will get from one side of the Sukhumvit to the other, perhaps by shuttle bus or supervised walking, similar to the tourists from the Orient on Pattaya beach road. This will most likely affect the people driving towards Bang Saray/Satthahip, particularly between 5pm and 7pm during rush hours. As others have suggested, the prices are high, and unless these drop, the park may close sooner than initially thought. Should be interesting to see what develops.

  10. I suggest you stay away from Spalshdown as I had a very bad experience there. There are no safety instructions, the staff are Cambodian and therefore do not speak Thai/English, and when I jumped off one of the elevated platforms onto a ball I ended up under the platform in very dirty water and had no idea where the way out to the surface was. I kept hitting the platform every time I tried to surface, after approximately 30 seconds of panic I gave it one last chance, after saying goodbye to my daughter, and was extremely fortunate to grasp air rather than the platform. When I scrambled to the side and exited from the water the staff just stared at me and offered no assistance whatsoever.

My daughter had been screaming for help when she realized I was in trouble but nobody came to help.

The expatriate owner gave me back my money but offered little/no sympathy and proceeded to inform me that the place was safe. <deleted>.

I suggested that a qualified swimmer be present in each of the pools to offer assistance and that not more than one person be in the pool at the same time, safety instructions provided and Thai/English speaking staff were present at each pool - this was/has been ignored.

When I mentioned this to a few colleagues I was not surprised to hear that people have also cheated death and experienced many other minor injuries e.g. broken fingers.

Safety comes first, not here, it's all about the money.

  11. For the past 4 months I have travelled from Bang Saray to Pattaya at 6.30am and it takes just under 15 minutes to get from Bang Saray village to Pattaya South Road (Tai), and just over 15 minutes from Pattaya to Bang Saray, early evening at 5.30pm. These times are achieved with safe driving and not exceeding 100km/h. On the Pattaya to Bang Saray journey, once you get passed Chaiyapreuk 1, Jomtien, it is flowing traffic, particularly now that they have deactivated the traffic lights at the intersection just before Ambassador City. The only time it mayt take an additional 5-10 minutes is on a Sunday, late afternoon/evening, from Bang Saray to Pattaya when the Thai's return to Bangkok from their weekend vacation.

Try it out for yourself and unless you are travelling under 50km/h you will discover that the above is true.

  12. "Little Pattaya"; I hope so as that was one of the reasons I moved there recently. The condo's I bought were a massive saving compared to Pattaya/Jomtien prices. The only negative spin is that the new Cartoon Network Water Park will most likley congest the Sukhumvit with U-turns back to Pattaya, unless they use the area behind the development for a car park. Apart from that, it is and will be a great place to live. Only 15 minutes away from Pattaya - no brainer!
